EXCITING NEW REMODEL October 2025!
Welcome to my beautiful home on Maui at the Palms at Wailea!
The condo is located in the upscale neighborhood of Wailea and its location on the property makes it feel more like a private home than a condo in a resort. The views are expansive. Through the Monkey Pod trees off the lanai you can see a small ocean view of Molokini and Kahoolawe.
You are a 5 minute walk to all of the 5 star Hotels the first one is the ANDAZ Hotel where you can grab a coffee and then walk down the property through the cascading pools to the Wailea coastline and the boardwalk that will take you all the way to the Grand Wailea, Four Seasons and the Fairmont Kea Lani it'a great way to start your morning, maybe go for a run, or walk and enjoy the most beautiful views of the ocean or go down for a Sunset cocktail and dinner at one of the fabulous hotel restaurants. You have access to all of the Hotels Restaurants, Shops, Bars, and even Fitness classes at The Grand Wailea featuring morning yoga on the beach, spin classes etc. Nancy Lawrence is the Head instructor there so mention to her that Lawrence sent you!
If you are a golfer Wailea Blue and Emerald courses are world class and steps away.
In May 2024 I had the entire apartment painted with semi gloss on the baseboards and doors and a satin finish on the walls, with blue ceiling over the bed, which I find very calming along with a fresh coat of ebony polyurethane on the Bamboo floors to give it that mirrored finish.
THE ART WORK
The Art work on the walls are gorgeous Photographs that I have taken and have had printed in the same manner as the famous Photographer Peter Lik one of my favorite photographers, all of the large photos are printed on Fuji Flex chrome Crystal archive paper and mounted on museum quality glare and non glare acrylic as well as metal except for the one over the master bedroom king size bed, which is matted and framed. All of the works of Art have specific lighting on dimmers and what makes them extra special is they are light reflective so the more light you give them the brighter they become!
Please be mindful when enter the apartment to remove your shoes and to keep your luggage and handheld carry-on personal items from hitting the walls as to avoid scuff marks, and would appreciate not touching the Art with your fingers to avoid finger prints please.
AIR CONDITIONERS
I also added air conditioning throughout the apartment in May this year so that the entire unit can be chilled down on those really hot days.
There is a split unit in the living room and in the bedroom for your comfort. Most of the units at the Palms only have AC in the bedroom, but I thought it was time to add it to the living room as well.
The design of the Palms at Wailea architecture is an open air design which is why there are so many windows to allow the trade winds to flow through the home, but please be mindful if the winds are too strong especially through the front door as it can blow my gorgeous Moooi Stainlesss steel Chandelier with over 100 LED lights sideways as is very light in weight like a large Christmas ornament, also if there are leaves that accumulate outside can enter the apartment as well
TV BEDROOM
The television in the master bedroom has cable TV and an Amazon fire stick.
Just change the input with the Panasonic remote
There is a spectrum remote to operate cable TV
There is an Amazon fire stick remote to operate it
CONDO AMENITIES
The condo comes with anything and everything you can think of in the kitchen including three different ways to make coffee and for the beach the condo comes complete with beach towels, chairs, umbrellas, cooler and toys.
ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM
I have always loved Bose surround sound systems that produce the most amazing sound when watching movies or playing music through the smart TV I even have one in my NYC apartment and by the way if your ever interested in visiting NYC located on 14th St. between seventh and eighth Avenue in the heart of Chelsea facing 15th St. which is very quiet because it’s on the courtyard I rent it out as well short term and you can see it by following this link www.vrbo.com/796110 it’s listed there as a 30 day rental which is all that is allowed in NYC so if your interested I can write you a contract for a direct deal as long as Maui is open for me!
To operate the TV in the living room, simply use the Sony remote to power on the television.
Give it a minute or two and the Denon receiver in the white cabinet will automatically turn on as the television switches to the external speakers which are connected to the denon receiver, featuring the Bose surround sound system.
There are four speakers in the ceiling and one center speaker in front of the television for the ultimate sound and vision experience!
THE VIEWS, POOL AND GROUNDS
The condo faces south, from the lanai and can you look over the beautiful lawn and hedges through Monkey Pod trees you can see the small island of Molokini and Kaho'Olawe in the distance.
When you're looking south out of the condo whether it's out of the master bedroom living room, or lanai you'll have a direct view of the 10,000 foot mountain called Haleakala!
Every morning you'll experience the sunrise over Haleakala when you start your day!
The sun continues to rise up and over the condo and sets on the other side where you can watch the Sunset through the windows by the front door in the entryway and living room.
The pool is just a one minute walk from the condo, literally just walked downstairs and across the parking lot, stay to the left of the hedge which stores the recycling and rubbish, keep walking till you get to the next parking lot and road, turn right and the pool is there on your left.
The pool is best place to watch the sunset, especially from the third floor gazebo.
The pool and grounds are extremely exquisite. The pool has an amazing Jacuzzi, and the grounds feature every palm specimen in the world. There is a lily pond next to the pool and it runs down into a brook with a little bridge that goes across it as it makes it way down the property to the lower units.
We are situated at the top of the hill on the same level as the pool, so you won't be hiking up and down the hill to go to the pool, there are also outdoor grilling station set up just steps from the condo
LANAI STARGAZING
On a clear night, the lanai is the perfect spot for stargazing!
Not only do you get a Sunrise and Sunset over Haleakala And the ocean you also get a Moonrise and Moonset as well.
When it's a full moon, it's pretty spectacular to go down to the beach on a clear night and watch the moon set over the ocean
It's an unreal experience and remember to bring your camera everywhere you go 🙂
EXPLORE THE ISLAND
You should definitely take the time to get in the car and explore the island!
If you want to see the sunrise over Haleakala make advance reservations and arrive 30 minutes before the sunrises also the entrance fee is valid for a week and will also give you access to the park areas in Hana as well.
The drive is about an hour from the condo to Haleakala and 3 hours to Hana
You should definitely take the road to Hana (hI 360) which has 629 curves and 59 bridges. the road leads you through flourishing rainforests, flowing waterfalls, plunging pools and dramatic seascapes
I suggest you leave early in the morning as possible if you wanna make it back home in time to see the Sunset in Wailea.
I would leave around 7:30 AM, maybe stop at Twin Falls, or just keep on driving until you get into Hana town where you find the black Sand Beach of Waiʻānapanapa State Park.
You can park at the end of the road with the same parking pass as the one you used for Haleakala State Park.
Hike up to the twin waterfalls and bamboo forest a mile and a half up which is an unforgettable experience!
Two other hotspots over there are we red sand beach, which is just on the other side of Hana Bay.
You can park in front of the school and there's a trail that takes you around the right side of the mountain to the beach
If you're unsure, just ask
One other amazing spot it's called the Venus pool where the ocean meets freshwater, a site that is not to be missed but here you're asked to jump off a rock at least 10 feet high or more so more for the adventure types.
WAILEA BEACHES
All of the beaches in front of the hotels are very nice, but my favorite beaches are Secret Beach, Big Beach and Little Beach, they are 10minutes down Wailea Alanui Drive passed the hotels The first Beach you will See just passed Gannon’s Restaurant definitely check out the views from up there they are breathtaking, so on your right you will park and Pualenalena go right on the beach to find Secrets further down the road you will find Makena State park and Big and Little beaches
WHERE TO EAT IN WAILEA
Food shopping can be fun here!
The closest store is the gourmet market in the shops at Wailea
One of my favorite health food stores is Hawaiian Moon just down the road
One of my favorite restaurants is the Monkey Pod which requires a reservation, but also reserves tables to accommodate walk-ins
Oao Sushi is in the same complex as Monkey Pod the Gateway Plaza and the sushi restaurant gets five stars.
KIHEI RESTAURANTS
Kihei Town has a lot of less expensive choices for dining and one of the things they do best are fish tacos like Paia fish, market, and Coconuts and Sushi like Sushi in Paradise and Kohisa.
GYM
Powerhouse Gym is the best on the island so you might want to check that out!!
EMERGENCIES
My housekeeper, Don Batbie is available for extra cleaning and if I am not available as he is my own island agent
I WANT TO WELCOME YOU TO MY HOME!!
A WARM ALOHA TO YOU,

About the host
Hosted by Lawrence Daluz
I am originally from San Diego and moved to NYC 20 years ago and as much as I love NYC I need a getaway and Maui for me is pure paradise. I rented at the Palms several times and fell in love with the property but was never that happy with the units I rented I think because I usually got carpeted units which I dislike and the entertainment features were old fashioned and I love to spend my evenings at home cooking and enjoying good movie. I am a Hairstylist and photographer in NYC and have a love for the right lighting so you always look your best. Peter Lik is a phographer that has inspired me to capture beautiful landscapes and I print the on fuji flexchrome crystal archive paper which is light sensitive which is why I have everything on dimmers. I also want to say that living in NYC I am exposed to the latest trends and styles. I love hotels like the W because they have a modern but simple way of making life feel new and refreshing and the old Hawaiian style with wicker, floral prints and old Hawaiian art is just so last decade I needed to go contemporary. With 2 nonstop flights to Honolulu from NYC I can only hope that my style will inspire you to stay with me.
Why they chose this property
After looking at alot of units in Kihei I just wasn't happy there, they are much older structures and uninspiring to me while the Palms feels like one of the most luxurious resorts in the world and feel very very inspired and lucky to be an owner here.
What makes this property unique
Things to do: Sunrise over Haleakala, The road to Hana, Big Makenna beach and Little beach, Snorkeling at Ahi’hi which is just passed Big Beach,
Restaurants I love are Monkey Pod, Pita Paradise (ask for Mike and tell him I sent you), Fancy dinner at Four Seasons Spago and Nicks Fish Market at Fairmont Kea Lani.
Try to visit Paia it’s a great place to hangout and shop and there is an organic market on Baldwin avenue called Mana foods that is amazing.
There is a restaurant passed Paia called Mamas Fish house which is one the top restaurants in the western hemisphere. Just passed Mama’s is an amazing beach called Ho’okipa that is a big windsurfing and surfing beach and there at sunset the turtles come out of the water on to the beach and spend the night so a very cool thing to watch.
The location and gounds of the Palms is unbelievable. Being a New Yorker I don't drive in the city and in Maui the spead limit is usually 30 miles an hour so no stress and the beaches and amazing hotels are minutes away and when driving here the time goes by so fast because of the surreal landscapes you take in everywhere you go.
