The Pigeon Nest Cottage is ideal for the cost-conscious traveler or couple who appreciates a cozy, homey venue for a getaway, and only a 10 minute walk to restaurants and shops. The little 220 ft.²addition fits perfectly in the new craze for "tiny house" living. It is connected to owners home by a 20x18 ft screened private veranda. Situated in the Pigeon Point area of Beaufort close to the historic downtown, Chateau Petite Cottage aka Pigeon Nest Cottage is a small place with a lot of heart. The cottage is nestled among ancient Live Oak trees draped with Spanish moss, across the road from the Beaufort River. It offers our guests: a kitchenette (microwave oven, sink, refrigerator, coffee pot, toaster, 2 burner portable stove, and dishes, pots n' pans); coffee and breakfast bars for your first morning here, a bathroom with a shower and bath towels (including beach towels) beach chairs, and boogie boards are in shed.. . Outside, the cottage offers a large yard surrounded by a white picket fence ....as well as a private screened gazebo for guests .and a separate patio seating area with a table and chairs for relaxing and enjoying the flowers . . A whimsical flower garden is in a continual process of "being complete." In February of 2015 Diane's younger sister Bonnie passed away, and it spurred the idea of a memory garden for her.... a meandering path, graced with ferns, roses, daisies, hydrangeas, misc pretty flowers, as well as a precious pink flowered bush called "little Bonnie" have all been planted with love. You will also find teapots, bunnies and assorted little treasures to make you smile. Please spend time enjoying........ my flowers want to see you...
You also will get to have the delightful experience of meeting my 2 feline roomies Miss Maggie Grace, and Good Golly Miss Molly, the long haired calico. They love to be petted.!!! They are indoor outdoor cats, So please don’t let your dogs outside unattended.

Loved the “tiny cottage” and Diane was a wonderful hostess. The screened veranda was my favorite afternoon and evening spot to relax and read. Maggie and Molly (her kitties) often joined me as they love to lay in the sun.

Location was wonderful. Having access to Hunting Island provided a terrific place for the beach and sunrises. In all we saw raccoons, crabs, variety of large and small fowl, beautiful cats, and dolphins. Would stay here again! Host went above and beyond to provide anything a guest would need!
My daughter and I enjoyed our weekend stay at this cute little cottage. It's close to many different things and is very cozy and quaint. We enjoyed the whimsical garden and its decorations and we also enjoyed meeting Diane, our host, and visiting her shop.

It was in a quiet neighborhood. Just enough space for my husband and I with all the amenities we needed. Tastfuly decorated. Outdoor space to relax and enjoy nature. Easy access to shops and restaurants not far to drive.
Very cute spot!! I was in town for a USMC retirement so this was very close while also being away from the busy area. The garden was absolutely magical, I got to watch lots of birds fly in and out. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean. Perfect little spot, if anything brings me to the area again I will stay here
It’s a nice space close to downtown Beaufort. We enjoyed watching the dolphins in the Bay at Sunset and watching the the fighter jets land.

About the host
Hosted by Diane McIntosh
I moved to Beaufort from the Pennsylvania Amish country to enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the coast and the sunshine. Living in Beaufort has renewed my spirit and introduced me to many new friends, while allowing me to share the beauty of my new adopted home town with my friends from Pennsylvania. I have always enjoyed entertaining and decorating, so my cozy cottage in Beaufort allows me to indulge my favorite pastimes.
Why they chose this property
My husband and I vacationed in Beaufort a few years ago and fell in love with the historic charm of the town, its friendly, welcoming people, the wonderful waterfront restaurants and the natural beauty of Beaufort by the sea. This is a magical place to begin a new life! Unfortunately, My husband passed away in January 2011, so I made the "big move" alone. I know he would be proud of what I have been able to accomplish.
What makes this property unique
I love to sit on my cottage's porches and enjoy the river breezes, the shade of the huge old Live Oak trees draped in Spanish moss, and the peace and tranquility of my river neighborhood. The Pigeon Point dock and deck are less than a ten minute walk, you can catch a sunrise if you are an early bird, and if not, just turn around for a beautiful sunset to the west. No matter when you are there, be sure to keep an eye out for the playful dolphins.
