Gaston was an awesome host! The home was beautifully decorated and so inviting. The record player was our favorite touch. The backyard was absolutely beautiful and such a relaxing space. Anytime I sent a message, Gaston responded quickly. We truly enjoyed our stay.
This place is awesome! We had another host cancel last minute and we were able to book with Gaston which was the best decision. The home was extremely clean and smelled great when we walked in. Nice, clean appliances and rooms with great natural light. I will definitely be coming back when I make my annual road trips to Houston. Gaston is a great host who communicated! In person is even better than the pics.
Gaston runs a tight ship! The location was clean and accessible, and the decorations were nice too. Would absolutely recommend for visitors to Houston looking for a good place.
This home was beautifully decorated and clean. The outdoor area in the back was an added bonus ( wish they had sprayed for mosquitoes) my only complaint was the shower,

Thank you so much, Cara! We’re happy to hear you enjoyed the décor and cleanliness, and that the backyard was a nice bonus during your stay. Regarding your note about the mosquitoes — while we do our best to maintain the outdoor area, it’s something a bit out of our control due to the natural environment. As for the shower, we’re sorry we didn’t get more detail, but we’ll certainly keep an eye on it. We appreciate your feedback and hope to host you again in the future!
We had a nice stay! The space was comfortable, and the location was great. Coffee shops, groceries and food are available within 10min drive. One thing to note is that extra supplies like towels and toilet paper are available upon request but weren’t mentioned in the listing or check-in details. It would be helpful for future guests to have this information upfront.Overall, the host was responsive, and we appreciated the effort put into the space.

Thank you so much for your kind words, Skander! I’m really glad you enjoyed the space and found the location convenient — it’s great to hear that it worked well for your trip to NRG. Thanks also for the feedback regarding extra supplies like towels and toilet paper — that’s a helpful note, and I’ll make sure to clarify that better in the listing and check-in info for future guests. I truly appreciate your stay and hope to host you again anytime you’re back in Houston!
We stay in many vrbo rentals since 2010. Many in Houston. This is by far the cleanest, most pristine yet! The furniture is sturdy, new & well kept. The bedding is immaculate & fresh. The kitchen, contrary to other reviews of this home, well appointed, plenty of cooking necessities, pans, etc. There is another unit above this one, which, depending on the guests, we were able to hear them walk around, not unlike many hotels or multi-unit homes. The shower is great, partially enclosed, ala many newly renovated ‘spa’ bath rooms. Water splashing onto the floor was not an issue. I can see, with kiddos, how it might be.We recommend this rental for adult couples and/or with quieter, older kids.Parking was not an issue, whether in the driveway or on the street!
It was a nice staty. However it needs a better cleaning. Also when it came to cooking there is no pans for the oven. So I couldn't physically cook a meal unless it was stove top. No toaster so I couldn't toast waffles or toast for my kid's. Area However was quiet. Most of the housewaa clean.
We had a wonderful time in the house. Everything is very clean and decorated nicely. If I were to have one thing that has negative feedback is the outlay of the shower. It causes the floor to get really wet unless you back into a corner of the shower. Cool concept, just not super practical. The back patio area is fantastic. We were disappointed that the weather was not forgiving enough to enjoy. Our host is very responsive and kind. We had a perfect weekend. .
Everything was great about the property, cleanliness and the owner was super responsive. There’s a charcoal grill - no charcoal, no lighter. Laundry in unit, no detergent to wash clothes. Dishwasher - no pods (they did say they could drop some off) Pots and pans we wanted to use were dirty. Great spot for a quick trip, but you’ll need to buy “stuff” to use any amenities to cook or clean.

Hi Josh,
Thank you for your feedback! I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the property, its cleanliness, and my responsiveness. I always strive to provide a great experience for my guests.
I’d like to clarify that, as mentioned in the listing description, charcoal for the grill, wood for the fire pit, and laundry detergent are not provided. I do my best to ensure guests are aware of this beforehand so they can plan accordingly. As for the dishwasher pods, I offered to drop some off, but I understand you opted to purchase them yourself.
I also appreciate your note about the cookware, and I will make sure my cleaning team checks them more thoroughly moving forward. Your feedback helps me improve, and I truly appreciate you choosing to stay.
Safe travels, and I’d love to host you again in the future!
Good Location, Comfortable Stay, and Friendly Host
I stayed here with a group of friends for one night to be close to the area where we were celebrating my birthday. The host was extremely friendly and responded to all of my questions quickly, which made the whole experience smooth and stress-free. The home was just as pictured—very clean and welcoming. The beds, as well as the sofa bed, were comfortable enough for a good night’s rest.Although the weather didn’t cooperate (it was cold and rainy), we didn’t get to use the backyard, but it looked like a really cute space we would have enjoyed had the weather been nicer.Check-in and check-out were easy, and everything was in order. One thing I would note is that the property is a duplex, so parking can get a little tricky if multiple cars are involved, especially if you're sharing the space with other guests. Additionally, if you're staying in the first-floor unit, the floors are pretty thin, so you might hear sounds from above like heavy walking or loud music. It wasn’t a big issue for us, but something to be aware of.Overall, I had a great stay and would recommend it for anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and well-located spot!

I stayed for the weekend with my family, and we have four young kids. This house was okay to stay in for the weekend, but I probably wouldn’t stay here again. The house is well decorated and looks beautiful, it’s not very practical. It’s and old house that is recently renovated. If you have more than one car and the other renters in the building have multiple vehicles, parking will be difficult. The walls are thin so being on the bottom floor, we could hear almost every step from our upstairs neighbors. The shower is pretty but just not practical, it really needs a sliding door and a normal shower head so the entire bathroom floor doesn’t fill with water. The ice maker in the fridge doesn’t work so be prepared to buy ice. There are no normal cups to drink out of, just wine glasses which wasn’t ideal for little kids. The beds weren’t comfortable at all. If you’re planning on cooking, be aware that there’s no pans that can go in the oven. The kitchen sink doesn’t get hot (luckily it was just the sink, the shower heat was fine). At night, there’s flood lights in the house that are very bright and there’s no curtains, so it was tough to sleep. And lastly, the cowboy pool in the back isn’t really a pool — it’s just a stock tank full of water with no pump. It was super hot so we didn’t actually get to use it. Like I said, this house is cute & close to a lot which is great, and the host communicated a lot and wasn’t overbearing which was nice, but it’s just not a practical house.

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback about your stay. I’m glad to hear you appreciated the décor, location, and our communication.
I’m sorry to hear that some aspects didn’t meet your expectations. The house is indeed an older home that’s been recently renovated, and we try to balance keeping its charm while making it functional. We’ll take your notes about the shower door, kitchen items, and window coverings into consideration for future improvements.
Regarding the cowboy pool, it is described in our listing as a stock tank pool — more of a place to cool off than a traditional swimming pool. It does have a pump that runs daily to keep the water clean, but I understand how the heat might have made it less enjoyable during your stay.
We’ll also look into the other points you mentioned, such as the cups, hot water in the sink, and the comfort of the beds, to make sure we keep improving the experience for our guests.
Thank you again for staying with us and for your honest review. Your feedback helps us get better, and I hope you enjoyed your time exploring the area!
