It is a house that represents the true nature of Galicia, its permanent and unchanging nature and with the possibility of enjoying tradition and modernity. Nestled within our serene holiday rural retreat lies a charming chapel, dedicated to the cherished memory of the venerable Church of Santa Juliana. This sacred space graciously welcomes all guests to partake in worship and reflection, fostering a profound spiritual experience for everyone who visits. The house has all the amenities that you can ask for a rural accommodation; Fireplace, Wifi, television and Smart Tv, microwave, vacuum cleaner, coffee maker, kettle and all necessary utensils. Sheets, blankets and a set of towels are provided. If your stay is one week the towels will be changed during the week and the bed linen is changed once a week if you stay two weeks. It is also near all the destinations of Galicia; Santiago de Compostela, La Coruña, Lugo, Las Fragas del Eume, the Beach of the Cathedrals, Monastery of Sobrado de los Monjes ... But what is more important: When you want to forget the car, there are a lot of excursions nearby in which you can enjoy nature in its purest form. We speak English.

Lovely cottage in great location

Tony was a very helpful and friendly host. The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped, including the English TV programmes. Its location was ideal for us - a quiet rural settiing but less than an hour away from all the major cities we wanted to visit. We hope to return soon.

Thanks Tony and Sue for a very pleasant stay. The home was very neat and tidy and quiet. Tony was very accommodating and gave us great suggestions for what to do in the area and beyond. The area is beautiful and many outdoor activities and historical sites close by and the ocean is only a drive away.

A rural retreat

The cottage was spotless, warm and very well equipped. The owners did everything to be helpful but not intrusive. The vast collection of films was enough to keep us entertained for 3 weeks! Shops and restaurants were easy to find locally. There were many places to visit within an hour's drive.

Stone Cottage

This is an amazing place. The country side location was a welcomed change from the hectic city. The cottage is beautiful on the inside especially with some of Tony’s art work in each room. Tony is an amazing host. Nothing was left undone. He went above and beyond anything we could have expected. Wish we could have stayed here longer!

Wat een comfortabel en schoon huis was dit. De gastheer wachtte ons op en gaf allerlei nuttige en fijne tips voor de omgeving. Het huis voldeed voor 100% aan de advertentie, en meer. Het ligt weliswaar wat buitenaf, maar dat waardeerden we juist!

Idílico para quedarse

Calidad precio estupendisima, vistas maravillosas y muchas tranquilidad. Muy buena atención por parte de Tony y su mujer,muy amables y agadables. La casa por dentro una maravilla, tiene todo lo necesario para su uso. El exterior amplio y de zona verde, para dar paseos en tranquilidad y admirar la zona y a sus animales. Tanto Curtis como Teixeiro tienen supermercados, bares,restaurantes para poder hacer ocio y comer. Nos hemos sentido como en casa. Volveremos segurisimo. Un saludo, Javiera y Sergio.

Ideal si buscas un sitio tranquilo donde desconectar. Experiencia para repetir. Cabaña acogedora con todo lujo de detalles de la que no querrás irte. Tony y su esposa muy amables y cercanos. Dispone de parrilla, mesa en el exterior y juegos de mesa como scrable, dominó y cartas. Muy limpio. Me ha encantado ducharme oyendo únicamente el sonido de los pájaros.

Wir waren im Aug./September 2019 für 14 Tage im Stone Cottage Esencia. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt weil Toni und seine Frau sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit waren und uns den Urlaub so angenehm wie möglich gemacht haben.

La Casita Esencia es un alojamiento ideal para parejas, espaciosa y acogedora. Tanto la limpieza como los utensilios de la casa són ideales para sentirte facilmente en casa. Sobre la atenció de Tony, decir que immejorable, fue muy atento y respetuoso con nosotros. Probablemente lo unico mejorable ubiese sido alquilarla mas días, nos supo a poco ☺️. La desconexión ha sido un éxito, los servicios muy completos, la equipación de la casa sublime y la temperatura ideal con las estufas y calefactores. Lo unico a destacar ha sido que haya mas papel higiénico, ya que un solo rollo es poca cantidad, un detalle leve. La situación es ideal para desconectar y relajarse unos dias en un clima maravilloso de lluvia y silencio. El anfitrión siempre a disposición y muy atento. Repetiremos sin duda alguna.

Un très bon gîte pour marcher dans la campagne autour, confortable, impeccable de propreté, avec service hôtelier, changement de serviettes, ménage si nous l'avions souhaité, très bon accueil; nous avons rayonné pour visiter la Galice, plein de découvertes, Lugo, Ribadero et ses cathédrales-rochers océan; Coruna, Santiago, Ourense et ses thermes, et une escapade de trois jours splendide vers Grove et Vigo. Très agréable séjour

Petite maison parfaitement conçue, bien équipée, confortable et très propre. Nous avons été très bien accueillis par Tony avec qui nous avons eu d'agréables échanges. Sa gentillesse est manifeste. Usted se hospedó dos noches si me hubieras dicho esto la noche anterior, el problema hubiera estado resuelto en ese momento. Lamento que el perro te haya molestado. El perro no es del vecino que vive a metros de distancia cruzando la carretera de acceso, el lo estaba cuidando un par de días mientras el dueño se recuperaba en el hospital, el perro ya no esta su dueño ya se lo llevo. Lo más favorable de mi casa dicho por los comentarios de los huéspedes es lo tranquilo y bien que se duerme por la noche..

Magnífica estancia

Hemos pasado 4 días estupendos en Galicia. La casa tiene todas las comodidades y está situada en un entorno rural a unos 45 minutos de La Coruña. Supermercados y restaurantes a 5 minutos en coche (Curtis o Teixeiro). Nos han tocado unos días de mucho frío. Tony hizo todo lo posible para que la casa no estuviese fría. Calefactores, estufas, chimenea, y hasta un calentador de colchón, ¡qué gran idea! Para recomendar sin dudarlo.

Beautiful Cottage

Our Host Tony was very welcoming and provided a very neat, clean and cosy cottage. It proved to be a great starting point to explore the region. The in house movies and recorded shows were great as well. We would highly recommend.

Beautifully renovated cottage in a rural setting

This was our first visit to Galicia. We wanted to stay somewhere traditional and within reach of the main towns and coastlines. This place absolutely exceeded all of our expectations. From the moment we arrived we felt at home, thanks to Tony and Sue for being such lovely hosts. The cottage is one of two on the same site which have been totally renovated to a very high standard. Everything is provided, the bed is super comfortable and the bathroom is modern. We loved the paintings, done by Tony, which show traditional Galician scenes and give even more character to the interior. The classic TV programs provided on a hard drive were much appreciated too when the Galicia got some much needed rain! We totally recommend this cottage for those seeking to explore this scenic corner of Spain. We will be back!

Tony et sa compagne nous ont accueillis on ne peut plus chaleureusement. Merci à eux. La maison est parfaite pour deux personnes (et éventuellement un jeune enfant). Le cadre est très reposant si vous aimez la campagne. Tout autour, c'est la Galice avec ses paysages magnifiques, côté mer ou côté montagne. Pour les amateurs d'architecture, il y a aussi de quoi faire, Santiago bien sûr mais aussi Lugo La Corogne...

What makes this property unique

Galicia - Galiza in galician - is part of the "green Spain", and it has not been yet conquered by the massive tourism. It is a highly appreciated destination for lonely planet travellers and, therefore, a region to be unquestionably recommended. People from all over Spain are well aware about this.
In Galicia it is still easy to find old-time hospitality, which has become harder and harder to find in other parts of Spain. Along the seaside it is possible to find amazing long beaches to enjoy: saling, fishing, diving are well know activities. And, even in summer, a lot of beaches are not really crammed with tourists. The inland offers green, wide and open spaces, as well as mountains to go across. In the north it is possible to visit the astonishing Death's Coast, one of the most abrupt coastlines in Europe.
A smooth breeze tempers the hottest days in summer and, thanks to the Biscay's gulf stream, it is possible to get a bath until the end of Septembre.
Fish and seafood are an important part of the galician diet. 95% of the fish and seafood in Spain comes from Galicia. In this way, along the seaside the galician cooking offers a wide range of courses with octopusy, fish, crabs, clams, etc. All these products are fished by the fishermen from the full of locar color villages. It is a must to taste "pulpo a la gallega", galician octopusy, with red or white wine from the region.
