We had such a great time at Nell's and appreciate all of the warmth from Ger, Mary and Sinead, and the suggestions for touring and running were terrific. Wonderful spot and would happily stay here again.
We enjoy staying at working farms and this placed us right at the doorsteps of one.
Both Mary and Ger were welcoming and so accommodating to all our questions. We loved being able to see the dairy farm in action. A lovely stay and accessible to near attractions.

loved it
Enjoyed our stay - the cottage was wonderful. The beds were comfortable. It was a nice space to go to at the end of the day. Also enjoyed the hot tub
Old fashioned farmhouse in beautiful location, convenient for Comeraghs, Mahon Falls, Mount Congreve, Coomshingaun and other underrated sights. Mary and Ger were kind and generous hosts.
Location is perfect to visit the area. Ger and Mary are reliable and they do everything to make you enjoy your stay. They offer fresh milk from their cows if you like it.
We would really love to come back!
The pace is great, a lot of space. Rooms are are vast and lovely restored. Owners are lovely and welcoming. We had nothing to complain. We recommend.

Wonderful!
Was a great experience! The home was clean, very comfortable and perfect location! Mary and Ger went out of their way to assist us and actually took us to a neighbor’s sheep farm as it was my interest! We can’t say enough about what great hosts and place to have made our home for 5 days. Highly recommend and we would stay here again

Thank you for your very kind words. It was a pleasure to meet you and I enjoyed our chats about agriculture. I hope you had a safe trip home.
Stay was great , it is an active dairy farm, which was great for us but should be taking into account. Mary and Gerry were great. We are in Ireland for 3 weeks and finding that is not long enough to fully enjoy each area
This unspoilt farmhouse is ideally situated for the greenway multi purpose track to Waterford and Dungarvan. The property has a hot tub which we used and loved whilst there. The double bed was very comfortable. Mary and Gerry were lovely hosts and made us very welcome. They were very helpful. We would highly recommend. Thank you
I stayed at the property with my three 12 year old triplets. We loved the property. The kids took full advantage of the hot tub almost every night. We all took advantage of lighting a nice fire nightly. The property was clean, plenty of towels were supplied. The front garden was cute, I sat and read my book listening to cows moooo. (lol) it did not bother me or the kids it is definitely an active farm. I would recommend the property and I would stay again.

Very rural setting but comfortable. Mary and Nell were very nice and helpful regarding lost luggage
Extremely hard to find even with GPS. Don't know if I would have found it if it wasn't for a nice lady who knew them and showed us where it was located. Comfortable furnishings. Sorry we didn't get a chance to sit on the back patio and use the hot tub. Could use a few more amenities and instructions on using the shower, etc. Small road leading to the farmhouse was very narrow with ruts. My car hit bottom several times.

Thank you for your suggestions and I will take them on board.
This was the highlight of our two week journey through the Country. Ger was quite accommodating in showing us around the farm, telling tales of the community and its history. The house was well appointed, comfortable and accessible. Hot tub was icing on the cake. Yes this is a working dairy farm with the associated sights and sounds but I believe that was a great deal of the charm. Would strongly recommend and will likely return

Rustic Farm House not what's advertised
The house has all the character and style you would expect from a rustic farmhouse with some modern features such as a hot tub, central heating and WiFi. While they mention these upgrades, it was not what one would expect. The heater is on a timer and if you are older and have thin blood this is not for you. The shower mentioned for mobility challenged has nothing to lean on, it's an open area with a shower head. It's drafty - can't imagine using in the dead of winter. The back patio was okay, but do understand you can see one of the barns and yes you will smell the aroma of a dairy farm. Lots of flies as well.
The hot tub was not working - it would have been nice to enjoy.
It is a working farm and if you need something you need to call the owners. Which might be fine, if it was occasionally, but when we realized this would be a daily thing we decided this was too rustic and too unpleasant to stay.
The property was remodeled for use in 2009, but you can tell over time things have changed. Not sure but I think some of the cobwebs had been there a while. If you like fires and don't have allergies then this will be fun. You want off grid you will enjoy, but if you think you will have some of the basic necessities that you get in a home versus a hotel room not so much.
There needs to be a book of instructions on how to operate all the appliances, the heater, the showers and even the toilets. At every VRBO property we have ever stayed at there is always a book with instructions, phone numbers to the owners, plus other area numbers of importance.
Nothing to wash the dishes with, again dish towels are not the best option. No tissue – to blow your nose use toilet paper.
This location was such a disappointment we left after spending two nights there.
Very friendly and helpful hosts in a lovely accommodation in a fantastic rural setting, all we asked for and more. I'd definitely recommenced this property and would definitely go back there again
We had a lovely stay in Nells Farmhouse. Cozy by the big fireplace, fun in the hot tub on a cold day, everything you need.
And a brilliant host too.
Thank you
Judi
We had a marvellous stay hosts were outstanding, house and bed were great so peaceful, my Partner even got to help with Milking which he really enjoyed thank you Ger and Sinead . We would recommend this farm stay to anyone, and the fresh milk on my porridge was the icing on the cake , many thanks xxx

Thanks very much for your kind words. Thank you for leaving the house spic and span. If only everyone was like you. It was a pleasure to meet you both. Safe travelling. Mary
My partner and I stayed here and it was so peaceful and relaxing. The hot tub was the highlight of our trip and we have already booked another stay here!
We had a fantastic stay. The property is a bit off the beaten track, but it is fabulous. We had some fresh milk from the cows in the yard & enjoyed the hot tub every evening. Mary is very accommodating & I’m sure if we had any problems (we didn’t), she would’ve sorted it out ASAP. Would definitely recommend.
Coming back from a brisk walk to an open fire and a hot tub is the greatest feeling. Stare up at the midnight sky, free from any light pollution, and you can see the milky way. This was our second time at this exact property - thanks for having us again!

About the host
Hosted by Mary Flynn
We have been farming on this property since 1973. We have a large dairy herd and all their followers. The property is situated in the farmyard and there are farming activities taking place throughout the day. Guests are welcome to view the milking cows (children must be accompanied at all times).
We have a great interest in how people lived long ago, how they worked, what they ate, how they played.
Why they chose this property
This property is over 200 years old and was refurbished in 2008/09. It belonged to Gerard's Aunt Nell, hence the name Nell's Farm House.
What makes this property unique
The house is situated on a working dairy farm at the foot of the Comeragh Mountains. The Mountains contain many beautiful lakes and maps are provided for the various walks. The house was renovated to include many modern features such as fitted kitchen, power showers but while still retaining the old features such as shutters on the windows, high ceilings, the open fire.
