House, 3 Bedrooms + Loft, 3.5 Baths, (Sleeps 8)
Villa of the rock Kathy & I bought our piece of Paradise in 1994, we started building in march of 1996. we lived in a tent for 16 months, the time it took to build our dream home on the beach. living in a tent taught us that less is more. we lived in Sunset Beach Hawaii prior to moving to Costa Rica. we have been helping folks for many years to have a safe & wonderful vacation. we live on site 24/7 365, to make sure that all your needs are taken care of properly.
alan purchased this House in 1994

Beach. Sun. Great host. How does it get any better?!
Beautiful beachfront home. Alan is a great host - very helpful and safety mindful. Nearby restaurants; beach is steps away from home. Maria’s help was indispensable! Perfect home for our 8 family members. (Caution! Not a beach for small children; the surf is very strong!)
Thank You, Alan
Amazing time, great location
The house was a great size for our group of 7. There are a lot of doors to lock up when you leave but security is important as Alan just wants to keep your belongings safe. The beach was so private everyday. The views were just amazing. Alan was always there for questions and had great recommendations for local places to eat within walking distance.
Maria helped us book our excursions Was the sweetest person to deal with. We had a trip of a lifetime. Alan really does have a little slice of heaven in this property. Also the seashells were amazing at this beach if you’re a shell person. Fisherman are out ever morning and evening by the rock. The squirrels were fun to watch and we could feed the birds from the rail on the deck. Always something to watch.
great folks, kids were great. loved them.
Perfect Costa Rican Vacation
We stayed at Villa de La Roca with a group of 6 (3 couples) and the set up was perfect. Please note though, the floors are not connected inside the home- you have to go outside to get to the other floor and the porch area should be locked at night per the owners request. The kitchen is perfectly usable (but needs to be better set up with the basics before guests arrive. We had no hand soap or S&P. Also, it desperately needs new sharp knives.) for the basics but I would recommend going out to eat as much as possible- it’s vacation! The water pressure/temp and WiFi is great. The AC works well in the bedrooms. The home is basically open air though- meaning, you will have bugs in the house and there are always ants. This may just be part of vacationing in CR, but potentially the house could be sprayed prior to guest arrival. The beds are comfy. Towels (just enough- shower and beach) are provided. Anna Maria comes to clean regularly. While there are some things that could be polished up about this home- YOU CAN’T BEAT THE VIEWS. The house is one of a few ON the beach. Unobstructed views. Watch the surfers and the tide come in and out. You’re seconds away from being on the beach and collecting shells and playing in the water. Allen & Kathy were great hosts- around/available but not intrusive. They were helpful with suggestions- Taco Star is a short walk down the beach and Kike’s in town for local food. They also have contacts in the community- they set us up with Maria from Chocobanana to set up tours and with Teo who came to the house to do massages on the porch! Tamarindo is a quick 25 minute drive (and it’s worth it to stay in Playa Grande. SO much more calm.) and easy to get to if you’re looking for more people and souvenirs. Also the nicer grocery store is there, which I would recommend.
Overall, we would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone! We had an absolutely wonderful time! Thank you Allen and Kathy!! Pura Vida!!
right on the beach with semi private surf break right out front, we are 4 seconds to the beach. must see volcanoes, river boat ride to see the monkeys, catamaran tours with snorkeling right out front.
