3 over 50 friends met for a galentines friend get together. Had an amazing visit. The house is absolutely gorgeous. It was extremely clean and very comfortable. Susan the manager was extremely responsive and very delightful to work with.
We live in St. Louis County, and were having a Staycation after my company Holiday party. We are also are beginning to look for a VRBO property in the area.
My family of five, all adults, had a magical holiday in this historic home. We cooked, watched football, played games, read quietly, walked the neighborhood park, and frequented neighborhood businesses. The character of the home delighted us throughout!
Beautiful property! Great location. House was immaculate, well stocked kitchen, plenty of towels, toilet paper, etc. lots of antiques in the house. Neighborhood was wonderful. Took walks in the neighborhood and Lafayette park both mornings we were there. Very safe and historic neighborhood.
The neighborhood was super cute (sister city to New Orleans so it has that vibe). The house is a classic historic home with all the historic charm so make sure you are familiar with that (loud settling noises, odd lighting, a little stuffy ).
One key thing to note, one of the beds is too small for a 5,6” or taller person. This ruled out 2 of our 3 person group from sleeping on that bed. That bed in particular was very uncomfortable also.
We thoroughly enjoyed the movie room and the spacious kitchen.
Gorgeous house with so many amentites. We loved staying here for our double- header Cardinals weekend!! Group of four adults and had a wonderful time in this beautiful home!! Host was very accommodating and communication was wonderful!! Thank you for a great time!!
The location was perfect for what we went down to St. Louis for. Communication was great with the owners and checking and checkout was easy. Very nice home.
Driving in from Columbus as a family of 5 we wanted a house that had historic culture, and this place did not disappoint! Lafayette square is awesome and the house was great. Plenty of room for our family and the bonus theater room was great for the kids to unwind after a busy day. Host was responsive and helpful too!
We loved our stay. Beautiful home near some wonderful restaurants. Anywhere we wanted to go was within walking distance or 15 minute drive from here. Highly recommend!
This home is located in such a convenient and interesting area. Easy drive to downtown and all the activities located in Forest Park, and if we wanted to walk, we could easily reach several restaurants and pubs, Lafayette Park, and Clementines ice cream (highly recommend). The home itself has a very well stocked kitchen, and we made almost all our meals during our stay. The back deck was a quiet place to hang out and visit, and the home itself is a fascinating piece of history to explore and read about. The host met us personally on arrival and was available for any questions, and we had no issues during our stay!
We had never been to St. Louis for a vacation. The house was fantastic. We’re all huge fans of vintage building technics. The attention to details from the oversized trim to the high ceilings throughout, this house was all we could’ve dreamed of. Susan was so inviting and helpful, prompt to respond and more than willing to help our stay maximize its potential. This is a real gem and in a beautiful community with a pride in its appearance unmatched as far as we’ve seen. We would love the chance to stay again.
We loved staying at this house. It was in a great neighborhood with a great park and some great cafes/restaurants within walking distance. I highly recommend going to the pond in Lafayette Square Park and seeing the swans (there were other birds and turtles, too). It’s a cute couple that were nesting while we were there with 3 eggs in their nest.
The house was perfect for our family of 4. The third floor was great for unwinding after a long day of sightseeing. We’ll definitely try to rent this place again if we head back to St. Louis. Thanks for a great stay!
It was our first trip to St. Louis. The property manager was excellent to communicate with . The historic neighborhood was wonderful and the history of the home was very cool. One note, there a many stairs so keep that in mind if you have physical limitations. Overall a super stay.
This lovely historical home was a special place to celebrate a getaway weekend in St Louis. We enjoyed the nearby cafe for morning coffee at Park Avenue Cafe ( their cappuccino chocolate chip muffins are delish) and the restaurants. The back deck of the home was great for visiting with friends. The decor and architecture were elegant, the art fascinating. Hosts wonderful.
Our trip to St. Louis was great. The house was marvelous. It was such a treat to be there for the holidays because the house decorated so nicely and the neighborhood was alive with lights and decorations. We would return in a heartbeat. Thanks!
Wonderful location and fantastic communication with host
The house was in the perfect location in a quiet neighborhood with access to lots of wonderful local restaurants. Also easy access to the highways. The host was fantastic. She was very responsive when I had to make several changes to my reservation, during my stay, and even afterwards. The movie theater on the top floor was such a fun surprise!
This is a beautiful historic home with plenty of wonderful details. Home is just as pictured. It is in a quiet neighborhood close to several restaurants and downtown. I wish we had been able to stay longer. It was a perfect place for our weekend.
Check in process was easy and welcoming.
I hope to stay again sometime!
This was a wonderful experience. A very nice historic home in a lovely neighborhood. Great restaurants within walking distance and a very short drive from anything you might want to do in St. Louis. The host was very kind and attentive.
Shared this Vrbo with friends to attend a conference at Union Station/Stifel Theater. We were all very impressed!
Great historic beautiful property, well maintained and well stocked with essentials for your visit.
The bed was a bit too firm for my taste which is the reason for the 4/5 stars.
Loved the porch and location. Communication with Susan was excellent.
Would 100% stay again and recommend to friends !
