Family-Friendly Room with Seperate Queen Bedroom and Two Twin Bedroom w/parking
Experience San Francisco from a Historic Family-Run Motel
Discover the charm of our family-owned motel, welcoming guests since 1939. This comfortable, family-friendly unit includes:
One private queen bedroom, tucked farther from the street and ideal for restful sleep.
A separate room with two twin beds, facing bustling Lombard Street—a major six-lane thoroughfare that can be quite loud during the day but generally quiets down after 7–8 PM.
Double-glazed windows in the twin room help significantly reduce outside noise when closed.
Amenities include free WiFi, cable TV, and a convenient parking garage located directly beneath the unit. Just steps from The Palace of Fine Arts, Marina Green, and the vibrant cafes and restaurants of Chestnut Street.
Please note: This unit is not pet-friendly.
Our front desk team is here to help daily from 8 AM to 10 PM. Call us at (415) 921-3430 with any questions—we’re happy to assist!

About the host
Hosted by Marina Motel

Tucked away in the heart of San Francisco’s Marina District, our little courtyard oasis has been welcoming travelers for generations. There’s a certain magic in these walls—memories of warm laughter, quiet mornings with a cup of coffee in the garden, and stories from visitors who’ve come from all over the world to explore the beauty of the city.
This place has always been about offering a tranquil, relaxing retreat—somewhere you can unwind after a day of adventure, breathe in the fresh bay air, and feel at home, even while far from it. The Marina is a special part of San Francisco, with its charming streets, stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge, and a peaceful atmosphere that’s rare to find in a bustling city.
Hosting here isn’t just about providing a place to stay—it’s about continuing a tradition of hospitality, care, and making sure every guest experiences the same warmth that has been felt here for decades. Whether you’re visiting for a weekend getaway or an extended stay, we hope you find the comfort and quiet that makes this space so special.

Why they chose this property
Our family's connection to the Marina District is deeply rooted in its history and charm. In 1939, my grandfather, Henry Louis—affectionately known as Lou—embarked on an ambitious endeavor at the age of 70. Inspired by the recent completion of the Golden Gate Bridge, he envisioned a welcoming haven for travelers at its base. With determination, he established the Marina Motel, creating a tranquil retreat for those visiting San Francisco.
The Marina District's allure lies in its harmonious blend of natural beauty and vibrant community life. Strolling through the neighborhood, one can't help but admire the Mediterranean-style architecture that lines the streets, a testament to the area's rich history. The bustling Chestnut and Union Streets offer an array of boutique shops, cozy cafes, and diverse restaurants, making it a delightful place to explore and unwind.
What I cherish most about the Marina is its serene waterfront. The Marina Green provides panoramic views of the bay, with the iconic Golden Gate Bridge serving as a breathtaking backdrop. It's a perfect spot for morning jogs, leisurely picnics, or simply watching sailboats drift by. This blend of urban amenities and natural splendor encapsulates the essence of San Francisco living, offering both residents and visitors a peaceful retreat amidst the city's dynamic energy.
