This place just totally creeped me out. It’s in the middle of nowhere (very dark roads with no lights) and the blue house on the same property was very eerie. The kitchen floor is a concrete slab. No carpet or tile. I was literally making coffee in the morning on a bare garage floor. Appliances and most items looked new. Heating unit in kitchen made a continuous weird noise I finally turned it off. Water had air in the lines and spit water. Hand soap in bathroom was gross. Upstairs loft is dark and dingy. Big stains on the carpet and futon “couch” was old and yucky. I literally could not wait for my stay to be over. One few positive notes- the bed was comfortable, bathroom was clean and it was only 15 min from Athens which was my main reason for visit. I do not recommend and will not return. It definitely wasn’t worth the price paid.
We loved our stay, from beginning to end. We experienced a quiet, cozy and inviting cottage with comfortable amenities and lovely natural surroundings. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring and walking mowed paths, immersing ourselves in birdsong and whispering pines. Meditating along the pond bank was lovely, as was morning coffee while relaxing on the patio. Thank you for sharing your special with us!

About the host
Hosted by Cornelia Babbitt
I’m an artist and musician with grown up sons. I enjoy making things and sharing ideas and hosting artist retreats. I grew up in the Albany area and came back home after many years away.
Why they chose this property
I chose this neighborhood because I grew up next door and my siblings are my neighbors. When my little farm came up for sale I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to come back home.
What makes this property unique
The cottage was once a tool shed. Many original features were preserved in the renovation which lend it a unique charm. My property is close enough to Athens (15 minutes) but still secluded so it’s very quiet and peaceful. It is easily accessible- you won’t get lost looking for it.
