Only a few minute walk from the T and only a few stops from downtown. Great location, communication with the host, and area. Will definitely look to stay here again next time in Boston.
My wife an I where in town for our daughter’s graduation and the stay here was great. Good location, great communication and a nice space. I would recommend to anyone.

Thank You Robert! Was a pleasure hosting you both. Looking Forward to your return visit in the very near future! -Terry and Mindy, Fort Hill Inn, Boston
Cozy & charming one-bedroom that did not disappoint, from cute claw-footed tub to having the necessities to make coffee & tea. If you are not used to stairs, that can be a challenge, but otherwise, all great!
Place was exactly as pictured. Lots of thoughtful amenities and well stocked. 5 min walk to the subway which made it super easy to get around the city. Would recommend!
Fantastic accommodation - large room, comfortable bed, tea/coffee in the room, nice bathroom - that was a short walk to the MRT. Our host was very helpful with good comms prior to arrival. Great food near by. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Great location and a cute and wonderful apartment. It was a perfect place for us to stay while exploring Boston. Close to the T Orange line. Note that there are narrow stairs to climb to get to the apartment. Not an issue for most people, but something to be aware of.
Great location and the room was very nice and charming. Easy access and communication. Close to the T station at Roxbury and easy to go downtown. Could even walk to Fenway one day. Thanks!
This room was on the third level. It was perfect for our stay and close to the people we were visiting. It is a short walk to the Roxbury T Station. I would recommend staying at this location. It was great.
Remolded and lovely older brownstone Inn. We loved our room on 3rd floor, nicely decorated, and comfortable bed and amenities. Very quiet street. The Inn has very narrow curved staircase to 3rd floor, I would imagine would be hard for someone elderly or has mobility issues, the bathroom is wonderfully decorated with a old claw tub, again their is a step stool if you are of shorter stature, I'm tall and no issues, I would stay there again, worth the money! Kitchen is basically just for snacks and some drinks, water was provided and coffee, big enough closet too. Close to OL (7min)
This was the perfect spot, centrally located to all of the activities we had planned in Boston from the Freedom Trail, to Fenway Park, and Sam Adam’s Brewery. Room is cozy but perfect for what we needed. Arrival and departure was wonderfully easy and we did not have a problem finding public parking on side streets in the evenings. Highly recommend!
We really enjoyed our 5 day stay in Boston and in this neighborhood. Everything was just as described and we found it very helpful to use the T (purchased Charlie cards the first day) instead of using Lyft or Uber. Terry was very helpful and accommodating if we had needs or questions.
Loved being able to stay in a historic neighborhood instead of a hotel.
Great value for lodging in Boston. Location is not within walking distance to downtown but there is easy access to subway transportation nearby.

Thank You Kevin for staying with us and for the amazing review! Just a little correction for future guests, we are very close to downtown/attractions and yes walkable! Just hop on the southwest corridor park at the subway station, follow the bike/walking trail and it will take you first to The South End which has some of the most amazing restaurants in the city about 1 mile away, 20 minute walk. Copley Square the center of attractions would be less than 2 miles. Subway will take you there in 3 to 4 minutes if you would like to save energy for walking around the center.
The room was perfect for our stay in Boston. The room was clean and comfortable. It is in a quiet, friendly neighborhood. The owners were responsive to any needs that we had. I would definitely recommend this place. As others have mentioned, if you have mobility issues the narrow spiral staircase can be challenging to carry up luggage.

YAY! So Happy it worked out, Terry and Mindy, Fort Hill Inn, Boston
This room is super quaint in a beautiful old home. The room has a coffee maker and sink in the room along with your own bathroom. Be aware we stayed in room 3 which is on the 3rd floor, so be able to walk up two flights of a spiral staircase with your luggage. The listing says steps, there are 3 steps to get into the home, but stairs to your room. The hosts were great and we would definitely stay there again.
Room was clean and Accurate to listing. Manager was friendly and welcoming. Also, very helpful with all questions regarding what to do in Boston.
Only negative my wife and I had, was being on third floor and carrying luggage up the narrow staircase is very nerve racking because of fear of accidents.
The accommodations were very acceptable and will definitely visit again, but would request bottom floor 😁

Thank You for staying Gary! Great tip for future guests. Steps required. We put it in the listing as well as a picture of the steps multiple times, but many fail to fully review details before booking. We are a historic property and steps are required. Happy to hear you enjoyed the rest of your experience here at the Fort Hill Inn, Looking Forward to your return visit! Tip, we do have units on the first floor. Terry
The room was clean and really quiet. Check-in and check-out were easy, with a quick response from the owner. Parking was as described, easy on the street, and it’s also a 5-minute walk from a metro station that will take you anywhere in Boston. P.S. Sorry for the late review. I thought I had made one, but it looks like I forgot. Better late than never, I guess. :)

So Happy to Hear Martine! Sincerely, Terry and Mindy, Fort Hill Inn, Boston
My wife and I had never been to Boston, and we wanted to stay in an older historical place, just to get the feel of the cities history. This was just what we were looking for. The room was small, but not at all cramped, clean and well kept. Easy remote check-in with Terry, and keyless entry to the building and room was convenient. Easy walking distance to the "T" transit in a nice historic neighborhood. A couple of things to note for older folks- our room was on the third floor, and the 1870's stairway is curved and narrow. Take your time carrying up and down your luggage, and just be careful. Also, the old claw-foot bathtub is higher than most people are used to, so caution there also. Overall a pleasant stay, and very pleased.
The property was very nice for sure! It was a bit away from the downtown. Unfortunately, one of the reasons we took it was because it was right on the orange line subway line because our niece was also on that line in the North End. The orange line closed down for the month, a couple of days before we got there! That made it much more tricky to get around. It was very clean but the one thing that wasn’t, was the ac and it was quite dusty and dirty in the vents. The place is a beautiful historic building with much character and had all the amenities as advertised. We would definitely stay again and hopefully the orange line will be up and running then!

Thank You Marie for taking the time to review! So sorry about the issue with the subway, It is back up and running now. It is the first time in 30 years that has happened, track replacement was badly needed, hopefully that will never happen again. We are 1.5 miles, a 5 minute subway ride to the center, copley Square. With the subway down, that might have appeared to be far. We have alerted the cleaners to the filter on the AC. Looking Forward to your return visit! Terry and Mindy, Fort Hill Inn, Boston

Overall, a pleasant stay
This was our first visit to Boston, and we enjoyed our stay at this property. As noted in previous reviews, it is on the edge of a somewhat sketchy part of town, and people not used to a big city might not appreciate the diversity. That said, the location is fairly central to all, and the T is within easy walking distance. We ended up using Lyft more than the T. Lyft is in my opinion the way to go in this city (sorry carbon footprint), but my wife liked the T for the experience. Back to the apartment. It was a bit small, but cozy, and the windows were surprisingly noise insulated for what looked like older single-pane. AC worked well, bathroom and shower were ok. This place is not good for anybody with any kind of mobility problems for two reasons: getting in and out of the shower, and the stairs to the third floor. No problem for us though. The decor was very eclectic, and we appreciated it. Overall, a pleasant stay, and as advertised, as a good hotel alternative.

Thank You much for taking the time to review! We love to get guest feed back as it helps us improve and others get an insight into our property and if it is a good fit for them.
The Fort Hill Inn, is a historic property built in 1860. Many details are original including the steps and the nice claw foot tub/shower in the bathroom. We provide handles to make it easy for guests to get in and out. Our Rooms are modest in size as are most in this historic city and others including Europe. We have a very European style of architecture here including room sizing.
***What is also modest in size is our price! Typically $149 per night plus the VRBO Fee. Prices double and triple in hotels just 5 minutes away. Room sizes stay the same.
One last thing I wanted to point out for future guests that the neighborhood is perfectly safe day or night, Properties here are selling for a million plus. It is a highly desirable neighborhood with extremely limited stock available to buy because it is so desirable.
Boston is a majority minority city, over 50 nationalities and languages are spoken here. This neighborhood is a perfect representation of a typical Boston neighborhood mix. This may make some travelers with limited travel experience feel uncomfortable that are not used to real cities. The tourist zones in Boston are full of travelers from other places and don't really represent the real Boston. We strive to give travelers a Genuine Boston Experience! We have been in business for over 10 years with zero incidents.
Thank You Soo Much for Staying with Us!
Looking Forward to Hosting you again in the Very Near Future,
Looking Forward,

La chambre est joliment équipée mais l escalier pour aller au 3 eme étage est tres étroit. Avec de lourdes valises c est compliqué. Ce n était pas indiqué dans le descriptif. De plus le propriétaire ne répond pas au message. Auto check in
