This flat was the perfect touch down spot after a long day of adventure. Beautiful view of K-Bay all day, close drive to all adventures, most importantly Christine was amazing in suggesting hikes, adventures, and local shops. Kitchen was well appointed. Truely such a lovely vacation.

Mahalo, Elizabeth. We were very happy to have such lovely guests and are glad that you enjoyed our home and your family vacation!
We had a wonderful relaxing week at Kaneohe Bay. The house is just as stunning as pictured. The house was well provisioned and comfortable for our family of 6. We especially enjoyed the kayaks provided and the easy access to the bay. The view from the bay is stunning. The only suggestion I have for the owners is to improve the lighting over the stove. When we arrived the ceiling pot lights were not working and it was very difficult to cook. We texted Elliott and eventually he did something which made them work again. With the pot lights working it was doable, but would be so much better with a little more light over the stove. We loved the location of the house. Waikiki is a short drive away, but we much preferred the serenity of Kaneohe bay. I highly recommend this rental if you are considering it.
This VRBO is a 10! Perfect family getaway. Often on rentals the pictures do not represent the property and you end up disappointed. This home is represented perfectly and more. It is so beautiful and peaceful there. Not only do you have this beautiful view, but you are surrounded by lush foliage. The bedroom with the twin beds feels like you are in a treehouse. The kitchen is perfect for cooking with your family. The location is just remote enough, if you want hustle and bustle, Honolulu and Waikiki is a short drive away. Excellent kayaking (provided) is right across the road which we did often. We were very pleased to have Maui the porch cat and Hanalei the neighbors dog to help us feel at home as we missed our own pets. The owners are lovely people, easy to communicate with and respond quickly. I travel often for work and this is easily at the top of my list of favorite places I've stayed. Cannot recommend enough and I very much hope to come back.

Chinaman's Hat Getaway
This home is an island treasure. Waking up to the view of Chinaman's Hat and Kaneohe Bay is a beautiful way to start and end your day. Our family spent 4 days in this home and didn't want to leave. Kayaking right from your own dock to the SandBar/ Sunken Island and spotting turtles all over is incredible. The Windward Side of Oahu is quiet, peaceful, and makes you feel right at home. There is so much to love about staying here. Sydney and Ryan are great property managers starting with the beautiful welcome basket to their Aloha Spirit. It is so nice to have them right there for any questions or needs.
We did have one issue with the AC unit in the master bedroom; just seemed like bad timing.
Other than that, we love the outdoor resident kitty and all the amenities this property has to offer. There are lots of food options around including a Mike's Huli Huli Chicken featured in Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives. A perfect place to stay on Oahu to get away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki.
The property is wonderful. Maui and Elliot were friendly and helpful. That is one wild driveway to deal with when you are used to flat! It was wonderful to have fresh Avocado straight from the back yard. Yum!
We stayed in this cute house for a week in January 2020 and had a great time! Elliott, the house manager, was super accommodating. The house was well-appointed with everything we need for a comfortable stay. The location was relatively close to most of the areas we wanted to visit while there. Honolulu was a short 20-30 minute in and we didn't mind because the views were amazing! Would stay here again!
We were traveling with our 1.5 year old and another couple. The layout of the house is perfect for little ones. The host had a pack n play so we didn’t need to lug ours on the flight! They also have a garage full of awesome beach gear and a beautiful patio + backyard. Everything was lovely and easy to take care of. We would love to visit again!
We had a fantastic stay at this property with a beautiful view of the bay! There is plenty of room to spread out or to invite friends to visit. The deck is large and sunrises and sunsets were spectacular. We had so much fun out on the kayaks, paddling all the way to the sand bar and back, seeing all kinds of fish and several turtles too! We were sad to leave but will be back.
The property was exactly as listed, clean and comfortable. The caretaker Claudia, was really friendly and helpful. The owners were prompt in their communication, which was much appreciated. We had a great staycation! Thank you!
Great location! Our goal was to experience the whole island, and this was the perfect location to launch our daily voyages from. We enjoyed the cool accommodations (air conditioning worked well) and the on site host was helpful in getting us checked in. After that, we had all the privacy we were looking for. Our favorite part about staying here.... the kitty Maui! He would greet us every morning at the door and would come when called. He always had a welcoming meow for us. We had a great experience staying here. Thanks Michael and Christine!
This house is a very nice property for visiting Ohau away from the congestion near Honolulu. Comfortable rooms, open area kitchen and family room and a great deck for looking out over the water.
Road access to big highways is close by but not too close and we very much enjoyed our stay
Our group of 4 had a great time escaping to Oahu for 10 days. This property was a great location as we wanted to be out of the busy city area but still accessible to activities and enjoy a nice view. The house is right on the highway, but we weren't bothered by much traffic noise which was a relief. I was a bit surprised by how small the master bathroom and shower were compared to the spacious guest bathroom, because the photos online seemed to label guest bathroom as the master, so our expectations were a bit different. But the two twins in the guest room can convert to a king, so maybe the guest room/bath could be considered the master in this instance. Anyway, it wasn't a big deal in the long run, both rooms were comfortable with everything we needed. We really enjoyed hanging out in the spacious living area as well as the deck with beautiful views of the bay. We also loved having the kayaks and beach equipment available throughout our stay. All in all, it was a great experience and we would definitely recommend this property!
Excellent location away from the crowds and tourists. Haleiwa Joes is a must; amazing food! Took the kayaks out multiple times and thoroughly enjoyed! The general living space is excellent with great views. The road is a little noisy on the deck but I preferred staying in the A/C so it wasn't a big deal. Overall, I'd stay again in a heartbeat! Michael was very nice and accommodating.
If you're looking for a quieter, more chill Oahu experience, then I highly recommend this residence. You will be a "kamaaina" on this side of the island, not a "visitor" in Waikiki. Views are insane, super-quiet. There was some road traffic, but I never really minded... windows are thick and block out all sounds. Neighborhood is relaxed, no dog barks or anything like that. There is the local cat "Maui" (we called her "Meee-owee") that hangs out on the patio and like to be pet/fed. Kayaks, boogies, umbees, and ice chests in the garage. Owners are really nice. Already planning our next stay 🤙
Comfortable house wird a great view and a nice cat
Even though we arrived around 11:30 pm check-in was without any problem. The house itself is spacious and well equipped. We used the propane BBQ on the terrace several times and also the outdoor equipment came really handy.
Christine was really eager to help with any problem and answered really fast when we tried to call her. Maui the cat was a really nice surprise who waited every evening out at the terrace and seemed to enjoy our company. The view from the terrace is impressive and we had some glimpses of the turtles in the sea and enjoyed some wonderful sunsets.
All in all a great place to stay!
This is a very nice and well-decorated place to stay suitable for 4 people. We were welcomed with a blanket of fruit and even local coffee. The house is pretty clean and the furnitures are really nice. They have a complete set of kitchen implement and tableware that you can easily cook a nice meal just like you are at your own home. The scenery on the balcony is awesome that the sea is just in front of you. Beside, you can enjoy kayaking provided by the owner in the sea just across the street in front of the house. Highly recommended if you considered to stay in the east coast for several days!
We enjoyed our stay at the house. The patio view is awesome and the house has all the amenities you can think of. We used the grill outside as well as the kitchen to prepare our meals . We used the beach chairs and the kayaks the house provided daily. As a bonus the house cat Maui gave us our pet fix , as we missed ours at home . All in all, a perfect getaway from busy Los Angeles 👍👍
Beautiful home and location—perfect for water sports enthusiasts
Can’t say enough about this house. Right across the road from a kayak put-in spot, a great view of northern Kaneohe bay (with no view of the military base), and a well supplied garage with 3 kayaks (one can serve as a double in a pinch), boogie boards, snorkel gear, and even a collapsible beach cart for lugging gear from your car—we used them all numerous times.
The house is beautiful, very well maintained and was spotless when we showed up. The pictures on VRBO are very accurate, and only leave out the colorful front yard. The kitchen is well-stocked, including a wide array of spices. We were welcomed with a tray of fresh fruit, a bag a 100% Kona coffee, a box of chocolate Macadamia nuts, and an invitation to pick avocados from the backyard tree. A plus for us was a super friendly outdoor neighborhood cat named Maui (we are cat people). Maui hung around on the lanai, but was very good at not coming into the house. Groups not partial to or allergic to cats shouldn’t worry, as Maui is not overly pushy.
The only drawback to the house is that it is on highway 830–a secondary route through the area— which can bring road noise in if you like to sleep with open windows like we do. But I would classify traffic on the road as intermittent to light, especially at night. A previous reviewer’s comment about confusing light switches has been rectified with labels on all of the kitchen and great room switches, and a glitch with one of the toilet valves was addressed right away by the property manager, Kara, once I told her about it.
All in all we had a great stay and hope to stay here again in the near future.
Right across the road from the water's edge this was a great place to relax. We borrowed the kayaks multiple times and had great adventures in the water. A short 20-25 minute drive down to Lanikai for its gorgeous beach. So happy to be far from the crowds.
Aloha! Exactly what I wanted away from the main city of tourists!! I needed that sense of peace and fresh Island vibe that I traveled 26 hrs RT across the country for. I needed the break from the crowd, traffic and city smell so I rented 3 nights for my family at this beautiful very clean and organized home exactly as shown. My favorite part was sitting at the balcony overlooking the water and sunrise every 538am with my cup of coffee. We wish we stayed longer but we had to go back to Embassy Suites Resort with the rest of our group. I also rented a Jeep and parked at no additional cost vs $40 a night at the hotel. I’d definitely come back!! Everything you want and need in a home is here, from beach to cooking etc. Thank you very much Michael, Christine (owners) and Cara (property manager) for your genuine hospitality and providing us with great experience. You guys are the best!! Mahalo :)

Comfortable stay
Love the home, location.
I only have a few small recommendations....
The lighting should be easier, some of the lights were just over complicated with the fans etc. Also, outdoor lightning should always be on, specially with the stairs to get up to unit. The home had a pleasant feel, great views and very Hawaii feel.
The owner was very attentive to our needs. Also, allowed us for an early check in.

Beautiful and peaceful place!
We loved the stay at Michael’s place. The view was amazing and I cannot forget. Kara helped us with information and any needs. There are plenty of things to use including kayaking. We tried to kayak to the sandbar nearby the house and it was really peaceful. We would definitely love to come back to this place. Thank you for your hospitality and sharing your beautiful place!

Why they chose this property
My wife and I fell in love with Kaneohe Bay when we first moved to Hawaii in 2001. I was in the US Navy and stationed in Pearl Harbor. We moved to Texas in 2004 but have always dreamed of going back to Kaneohe to live. We have bought this house to move into, which we hope to do soon. In the meantime, we are glad to share our home with other ocean lovers and hope you enjoy it!
