About this property

Very Short Walk to the beach and town! Top location in Harwich Port!!

Centrally located in Harwich Port with close proximity to the beach, harbors, downtown, and local attractions, our home is a spacious and custom "Cape" with the ambiance of a beachside cottage, with the amenities of a modern home. With everything you could want within very close proximity and all your desired amenities onsite, The Port House is the perfect hub for a relaxing and refreshing summer vacation, weekend getaway (for golf etc.), wedding trip, or long-term stay. In total, there are three large bedrooms (three queen beds / one single day bed; can sleep up to 7 people comfortably) and two full bath's including walk-in shower and full bathtub. Our home features a luxurious four season sunroom, outside brick deck, and very large front and backyards. Furthermore, the home is fully heated with an AC unit in each bedroom, and high definition cable and high speed internet available year round.

The Port House is a two-story, 3-bedroom 2-bathroom house that was recently updated. It is well built, spacious, and very clean traditional Cape that has hardwood floors and hand-finished ceilings throughout the premise. The first floor features a spacious living room w/ a flat screen Smart TV that is perfect for the family to watch a game /movie or catch up on the days events. The living room is well lit and open. With room for the whole family and a fireplace, the dining room is the perfect place to enjoy a meal with the family during any month of the year. Adjacent to the living room, is a bright and energizing sunroom, which is the perfect location to read a good book, catch the afternoon sunset, or watch a ball game on the new 40'' SONY flatscreen TV. The room has comfortable seating, including chairs, table, and a comfortable microfiber couch (great for an afternoon nap!). Also, a full kitchen is located off the dining room and comes equipped with an oven, stovetop, heating oven, refrigerator/freezer, microwave, dishwasher. The kitchen overlooks the backyard and features an eating area for dining and cabinet space for storage. This versatile kitchen is great for cooking small meals or a large feast! Finally, a master bedroom resides on the first floor. The suite features a Queen Bed as well as a flat screen TV. A full bathroom (with marble "him & her" shower) is accessible from both the bedroom and the kitchen. Finally, a washing machine (brand new) and dryer are located on the first floor.

The second floor houses two additional bedrooms (queen beds) and a large bathroom (including bathtub). Both bedrooms have a large walk-in closet and room for a rollaway bed, which are located in each respective closet. Both bedrooms have sitting areas (with a flat screen TV in the larger of the two) and one of the bedrooms has a daybed for the kids to take a nap. For convenience (and quiet), families can enclose the upstairs area.

A outdoor brick deck is directly accessible from the sunroom. During the summer months, the deck has outdoor furniture and grill, making it the perfect place for a summer cookout. Furthermore, our home has a very large backyard (with a brand new 6 ft fence) and a large front yard, which is a great place for the kids to play or to host a gathering with friends and family. Finally, the outdoor deck features an outside shower with a changing area, stereo, and lighting to rinse off or take a relaxing shower after the beach. The prevailing southwest wind off the water makes the deck and yard a Summer/Fall favorite.

Finally, the property features an attached garage with a small bluestone patio located outside the garage. There is a beach buggy, wagon, sand toys etc. located in the garage.

We want our home to be your preferred Cape Cod destination year around. We want our guests to feel welcome and lodging to be the easy part of the equation. Currently, we are in the process of upgrading the property and always look to our guests for feedback. We consider ourselves a partner in maximizing the potential of your stay! Whether you are looking to spend a week or two during the summer or a golf weekend in the Fall, we hope you consider The Port House.

Just steps from Wyndemere Bluffs beach, Allen Harbor, and downtown, The Port House is a great Cape Cod destination (see location description). Our family has spent our summers in the area for over the last 20 years. We hope to spend many more years in Harwich and hope that you can join! Great stay!

Very easy and open lines of communication with Scott both in advance and during the stay. The house had everything needed! The walk to the beach was very easy as well as to restaurants and shops. The bed and bath on the first floor was good for older family members and gave some separation from the family members upstairs. Would recommend to others looking for a great spot in Harwich Port!

Perfect house on Cape Cod!!

This house was ideal for my family! It is an extremely well maintained home with all the amenities we could have asked for. All the rooms are spacious and bright. My parent’s used one of the upstairs bedrooms, complete with a sitting area; providing them a space of their own to retreat to in the evening. My wife and I enjoyed the first floor master bedroom and the beautiful marble shower in the master bath. There are large closets and plenty of drawer space in each bedroom making it easy to unpack. The open living space was laid out perfectly enabling us to enjoy each other’s company while having separate spaces to read, watch tv, or play games. The sunroom was a family favorite!! The furniture and mattresses were very comfortable, and the decor is delightful. The kitchen is very well equipped; more kitchenware and glasses than I have in my own house! The kitchen and patio, as well as the dining room, provided more than ample places to dine. I’ve been vacationing on the Cape for years and this is one of the best locations I’ve stayed. The location was perfect; we were able to walk everywhere we wanted in minutes, the beach, downtown, and ice cream shops. The owner is exceptionally accommodating and welcoming. It was clear from the start Scott was committed to providing us with the best experience possible and he exceeded all of our expectations!! We have stayed in a number of VRBO properties and this house was definitely the best we have experienced.

Amazing Property and Experience

It’s rare reality surpasses the photos and online reviews, 6 Doane Way did! This rental was fantastic for me and my family, especially with our parent’s joining us. Keeping this summer home pristine is clearly a priority for the owner, inside and out. The sunroom was my favorite place, it was the perfect spot to read a book and listen to music (love the in-ceiling speakers). The kitchen had everything we required and then some, the yard and patio meticulously maintained and that outdoor shower was something out of a design magazine, music and lights!! The location was perfect for our family; very quick walk to a lovely beach, ice cream shop, and to charming main street for shopping, dinner and drinks. Also great for long walks and jogs along beach roads and harbor. Last but not least, the owner goes above and beyond to make his quests feel comfortable, welcomed and relaxed, taking the time to personally ensure we had a incredible vacation. We highly recommend this home!!

Immaculate home in perfect location!

Our family lucked out when with this beautiful home! As we got to know the Cape during our week's vacation, we realized that we couldn't have asked for a better central location to explore the area while having walking access to a beach and town location. The immaculate home was charming and homey, and we can't wait to visit again!

Excellent house in Cape Cod

This house worked out extremely well for our family vacation. There was one room for me, my wife, and our 7 year old son; another room for my brother and his girlfriend; and a master bedroom for our parents. The location was ideal with a beautiful beach and downtown Harwich Port all within walking distance. It was also convenient to have a supermarket and CVS pharmacy nearby. The go-karts, bumper boats, and trampolines are all very close, along with some great bars and restaurants. The house was very clean and well maintained. We spent a lot of time on the patio and playing games out in the big and beautiful backyard. Scott was very nice and accommodating. I would recommend this house to anyone looking to stay in Harwich Port.

An Ideal Spot!

This house was ideal for our family gathering! It is a lovely, traditional Cape Cod house, and Scott and Brian have done a wonderful job of renovating and updating it. All the rooms are spacious and light-filled. Our adult son and his girlfriend used one of the upstairs bedrooms, complete with a sitting area. Our daughter, her husband, and our 5-year-old grandson stayed in the other upstairs bedroom, which includes a daybed and a play area, complete with books and games. My husband and I enjoyed the master bedroom and the luxurious marble shower in the master bath. There are large closets and plenty of drawer space in each bedroom. The open living room and dining room, as well as the sun room, provide lots of places for relaxing separately or being together. There is comfortable seating everywhere, and the decor is beautiful, including original Cape Cod art. The kitchen is well-equipped --- I've never seen so many glasses! The kitchen and patio, as well as the dining room, provide varied places for dining. We entertained additional family members a couple of times. Our extended family has been coming to the Harwich Port area for more than 50 years, and this house has a great location, near the charming village of Harwich Port, as well as near the lovely private beach. The beach equipment and toys were well-used by us. Scott is a gracious, warm, and generous host, communicating efficiently, offering us extra beach chairs and another beach umbrella, and recommending the most appropriate restaurants, ice cream places, and golf courses for our group. Some of us went kayaking, biking, and exploring the National Seashore and the Monomoy Wildlife Preserve with tourist info Scott provided. We have stayed in several VRBO properties in various parts of the country, and this house was definitely the best we have experienced in terms of comfort, beauty, and livability!

The Best of the Best

When my husband and I walked into 6 Doane Way, it took our breathe away. Everything Scott said about it was true. The location was perfect. The house immaculate. We walked into town; walked to the beach; went shopping. Grocery store, deli, and churches were minutes away. The amenities were outstanding: fully equipped kitchen, 4 flat screen tv,s, master bedroom downstairs with bath and 2 bedrooms upstairs with a bath.The house had everything to make a vacation perfect. Scott, our host, went above and beyond to make our stay special. I've recommended the house to family and friends. The one hour and 30 minute from Boston was delightful: like a spectacular picture from Currier and Ives. We hope we can return next fall. The Best!!

What a find this vacation home was for my family. This house and owner are tremendous! Everything we needed was provided and then some. The home is meticulously maintained inside and out, so, so clean! The open concept provided us with all the space we could have asked for and we’re still talking about the beautiful living room and sunroom!! The first floor master bath is marvelous; we really loved the marble shower. All of the furniture was very comfortable, the kitchen was really well stocked, and the garage had beach chairs and toys for us to use. The pristine landscaping could only be matched by the outdoor shower, which had its own stereo system! The neighborhood beach took minutes to walk to and was really clean. The town and location where perfect! The owner takes great pride in his home and puts his guests first. I highly recommend staying at 6 Doane Way, it’s the best home we’ve stayed in.

Exceeded Expectations

We chose the house because of the separation of Master bedroom on first floor and the 2 bedrooms upstairs, as well as the location. We were not disappointed by either. The location was perfect for those who want more than just a beach vacation. We walked for coffee in the mornings; we biked; we explored neighboring towns; we ferried to Nantucket. And our grown kids had privacy upstairs, as we did on the main floor. The house is ideal for families and for groups. Scott opened up the first floor by tearing down the wall that would have separated the dining and living rooms; and the floor plan is perfect for being together, yet doing your own thing while at home. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cookware. The appliances worked well. The master bath was redone and was awesome! Scott is committed to making his house perfect for everyone, and requests, rightfully so, that the renters respect this. So everything is pristine, which we very much appreciated. We couldn't have asked for a more relaxing and recharging vacation with our family and friends.

Rarely does reality surpass online photos,6 Doane Way did! This rental was a great fit for our family, especially with our new addition, 7 month old Violet. My daughter was thrilled the home adhered to her same rule of "shoes off", keeping this beach house pristine and crawler -safe. The sunroom was my favorite place,great for quiet times and also for evening family game time. The kitchen is well stocked ,the yard and patio so welcoming and oh that outdooor shower!! We have rented over 25 years in Chatham and were concerned to make the change,there was no need to worry.The location was perfect for our family;easy walk to lovely,small beach, and to charming town main street.Also great for long walks and jogs along beach roads and harbor. Last but not least, landlord Scott goes above and beyond to make his quests feel comfortable , welcomed and relaxed,even taking the time to help our family member with a flat. We highly recommend 6 Doane way!

Wonderful experience

What a wonderful home in an fantastic location. Our family stayed at 6 Doane Way for a two week vacation. The house was very well equipped, immaculate, and extremely comfortable. The location was also an A+. We could walk to the beach as well as to Harwichport Center, but also enjoyed relaxing in the lovely backyard. Scott, one of the owners, was fantastic and extremely accommodating. We highly recommend 6 Doane Way.

This house was fabulous! We loved everything about it, from the very cool outdoor shower with its own sound system to the wonderful sunroom with very comfortable furniture. The house is immaculate and newly updated. The first floor master bedroom was perfect for my mother, as stairs are difficult for her. The master bath is out of this world with its marble shower! Just beautiful! The natural light and completely wired sound system throughout the house gave us a great beginning to each day. The location is absolutely ideal! An easy walk into the adorable town with all of its shops, sidewalk dining, bakeries, jewelry stores, and the best gourmet kitchen store ever! The Ember restaurant with its outdoor fire pit and the Hot Stove (great wings!) were two of our favorite stops. The private ocean beach is within a 3 minute walk from the house! The house was a perfect match for the five of us: three early twenty somethings, an 81 year old grandmother, and me (50 something), with plenty of room to spare. The owners were extremely accommodating! They were very friendly and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our stay to the max! I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a wonderful time in Harwich Port! We had the best time. It was perfect!

My family and I loved this home. (This was our first time renting in Harwich Port.) It had everything we needed for our two week stay. The proximity to the beach and town was wonderful. I could walk every morning to get my coffee, walk into town for shopping, eating, etc and we walked to the beach everyday. The town had two wonderful restaurants (food with a flare and pricey) and they also had restaurants for a young family. I just loved being able to walk to so many places. The house was great. It was immaculate. The owners very accommodating. In the garage it had some wonderful beach toys and of course beach chairs.

Cape Cod Wedding/Vacation

We had a family wedding in Cape Cod and decided to make a vacation out of it. Coming from the North this location was fabulous...Beautiful country indeed. The home was perfect. Very comfortable, clean, nicely furnished and well stocked. We walked the neighborhood every morning and were pleasantly enchanted with the New England charm of the homes. All cross streets led to the beach which was also breathtaking! The downtown of Harwich Port has plenty to offer from shops to restaurants and easily within walking distance. Took advantage of sightseeing and visited many of the towns in Cape Cod all within 20-40 minute drive. Our favorite was the Whale Watch cruise and would highly recommend. Was one of my favorite vacations!

The photos are exactly representative of the house, but don't really reflect the BEST part of the house: Location, Location, Location! This house, sitting pretty in Harwich, MA, is 30 minutes from everywhere! Our family enjoyed Whale Watching in Barnstable, a Harbor Tour of Hyannis, Lighthouse tours in Chatham, and plenty of shopping between it all on 28. We also loved walking around the neighborhood to the beach on Nantucket Sound. We visited at the very beginning of Spring for Cape Cod--rhododendrons, hydrangeas, peonies, & lilacs galore decorated and scented those daily walks. We luckily didn't experience any rain on our trip, but there were board games for kids and lots of room for movie-watching in the house on one of those days. The full kitchen & gas grill was well-kept, and well-used by our group for fresh, (locally caught!) shrimp, scallops, and steak. We definitely enjoyed the local fare as well--Dino's for breakfast, George's for pizza, and Brax for dinner with a harbor view. Scott was a renter's dream landlord--everything was at the ready for us, and he was very accessible by cellphone/email for any question. (Word to the wise--the linens rental from Scott is WELL WORTH IT.) If we vacationed in Cape Cod again, this house is the place we would be!

Great location!

The location of this house is great! About 5 minutes walk to the beach, and a 5 minute walk to town. We used the house as a relaxing retreat after our college graduation, it was perfect! The kitchen and appliances worked very well, and the owners were great. Definitely would stay again!

Perfect Cape House

6 Doane Way is at a fantastic location in Harwich. Five of my girlfriends and I rented the home for a long weekend in October for our friend's wedding at the Wynchmere Beach Club. The home is close to downtown Harwich and in walking distance to a Dunkin Donut's (key) and CVS. The home is emaculately clean, has great space, and the owner is very welcoming. The owner, Scott, is extremely professional, accomodating, and helpful. Scott provided us with restaurants around the area, cab companies, and a kitchen filled with everything you need. We rode the two bikes that were provided at the house down to the beach. It was stunning and surprisingly very close by. I would highly recommend 6 Doane Way to anyone looking for a week in the Cape or a long weekend in the off season. We loved it and can't wait to rent during the summer!

Fantastic Rental Home in a Quiet Neighborhood

We rented this house for 4 nights and had a great experience. The description of the house is more than accurate and the house and yards are immaculate. We were 4 adults and 4 children and felt we had more than enough space. The house is well furnished, in all aspects. Everything is organized to facilitate the stay (TV, DVD, WiFi, kids corner area with paper, crayons, etc.). The location is great: walking distance to CVS, Dunkin Donuts, Post Office, pizza shops, gourmet & family restaurants, pubs, bakery, and the charming Village shops. The owner was very accommodating and pleasant to work with. We will definitely rent this property again.

Nice vacation in Harwich, MA

This property was just fine and was conveniently located to retail activities and the beach. Harwich is far enough out on the Cape that you avoid a lot of the traffic hassles further west on Rte 28 etc. Easy access to the ferry to Nantucket and to decent golf courses. Was a good vacation and we liked the overall Harwich area.

Southern visitors

The house was clean and well maintained. The pictures were a good representive of the property, a nice Cape on a quiet street not far from the beach or the town. The owner was there to greet us and show us around the house/property. He was very accomodating, his descriptions about the town, the cape and surroundings were great. We recd a list of local restaurants and things to do. Harwich Port is the perfect location, walking distance to the beach and restaurants, close to the ferry for Nantucket, the next town over from Chatham. I would recommend this property to anyone who would like a nice relaxing week on the Cape.

Great Home and Getaway...Excellent Location

We rented this house to reconnect with college friends. We had couples coming and going all week. The location was conveniently located given other couples stayed in Chatham/Dennis and could get to our place in no time. We spent the days at the beach and on our friend's boat at the harbor down the road. We enjoyed spending time in town, particularly at "The Port" and their Oyster Bar. The house is extremely clean and comfortable. The backyard was great for cookouts and bocce. The owner's are very accomodating and easy to work with. We plan to rent again in the future.

Harwich Port is centrally located in the Mid-Cape, neighboring Chatham, Dennis Port, and Brewster. Our house is just a short walk to the beach, harbors, and downtown, making it the ideal location. Harwich Center and local attractions (Bike Path, Go-Karts, Bumper Boats, Batting Cages, Mini Golf, Golf Clubs etc) are minutes away.

Our house is a convenient location for couples and family alike during both the summer and offseason. With 3 large bedrooms/2 full bathrooms, an eat-in kitchen, large front and back yard, four season patio, and a outdoor deck, family and friends have the ideal space to create long lasting family memories. Within minutes of walking to the beach, home base is never far away.

Our home is available during the summer and off-season for long and short-term stays enabling our guests to enjoy all aspects of New England living.
