ABOUT MADERAS:
A warm and welcoming surf community in the heart of the jungle. Casa Kaiyō is only a 5 min downhill walk to Playa Maderas where you can take surf lessons, enjoy a cold beverage at the beachside restaurants, grab a delicious breakfast or freshly brewed coffee from Cafe Maderas, enjoy taco night at Hush or join for pizza night at Machete Market. Remote enough to surf and relax in nature, but close enough to San Juan del Sur (20 min away) if you want more action and nightlife.

Other things to note
INSECTS/ANIMALS: This is one of the most luxurious houses available in Playa Maderas....yet, keep in mind that we are in the jungles of Nicaragua. People come here to truly escape into nature, so the occasional bug and jungle animal (howler monkeys) are to be expected.

GETTING AROUND:
Once you're in Playa Maderas everything is walkable. If you want to head into town, there are several daily Casa Oro shuttles to San Juan leaving from the beach and the driver often will stop for you a few steps from my front door! It's $4 one way or $7 round trip. Taxis are also available upon request. If you enjoy maximum flexibility, I recommend renting a car. The road to Playa Maderas is very bumpy and unpaved so 4x4 rental vehicles are highly recommended!

ELECTRICITY:
Because we are remote, on occasion the electricity and wifi may go out sometimes. Power outages are dependent on planned maintenance, weather, or unforeseen circumstances.

ACCESSIBILITY:
With the house built into the mountainside, there are a LOT of stairs and floating staircases, so the property is NOT suitable for children or people with accessibility needs.
