This was a nice, quiet property. It was in a good location for wineries in the area. Very clean and the shower in the Cyclist was fantastic! It came with a 15 credit for breakfast per person. I would stay here again.
Although there was a maintenance issue with the room we had booked the staff upgraded us to another larger room that was perfect. For a small town along the Katy trail the accommodations were first class and we would be happy to stay there again.
So quaint & well appointed. Right off trail!! The breakfast made to order & delivered to lobby was great along with a proper dining table in the room to sit & enjoy it in our room- The Historian. Also, appreciated the dryer for some wet clothing as we had damp bike days. Enjoyed Phiily’s pizza right next door
Absolutely beautiful. I will recommend to anyone. I wish I had known the restaurant would be closed. I was really looking forward to a few beers and just walking down the hall. All good.

Too cold in room to be comfortable
We started our stay trying to figure out the codes, because there is no room called the Historian, instead its Daniel Boone, but the text msg said "The Historian." Then the sheets were dirty, with animal hair clinging to the fabric. [I have terrible pet allergies, had to take Benadryl both days, so I would not have an allergic reaction.] Sheets were changed, maintenance guy was very nice and quick! It was cold in the room, b/c the room is an add-on to the house and thus not well insulated. Its probably ok in the summer, but not in 9F weather. The heater was set to 86F, but it was in the 60's in the room. Room lights flicker on-off when heater fan was running. The knob on the fireplace is broken, can turn fireplace on, but no heat came from it. We had to put pillows by hallway door because of huge draft of cold air. There are several holes in wall behind bed, we could feel the air coming in from outside, had to hang a sheet behind it. Fan blades were very dusty, with cobwebs on lights in fan. Floors were dusty, not swept. Bathroom was freezing, sink faucet water never got warm, shower curtains sit above edge of shower stall so floor was wet (we ran out of clean towels trying to mop it up). Sink dirty on outside. Also had to put pillows along bathroom door, b/c cold air was coming through making floors cold. Room decor was nice, we liked TV framed "window," comfy bed, but you have to insulate the room, and clean the ceiling. Its not a 2star inn, but Motel 8 is better built.
Great communication with the host. Original room booked has water issue, do we were placed in the other room. It was much more space than we needed, but a nice stay!
