We had a great stay here for a weekend of Sewanee tennis. Darling tiny home, that was very clean and had all the amenities we needed and more. The hostess was awesome- excellent communicator and very responsive. We look forward to staying here again!
This is an excellent place to stay. Fully equipped. Great communication link with owner. Nice fire pit. Nice de k. Furniture all in good shape and comfy beds. Would stay here again.
Perfect quiet stay. Easy to get to and check-in. Properly furnished with spacious living area with nice electric fireplace. Kitchen was fully stocked with equipment.
The tiny home was clean, well-stocked with all of the essential things we needed, and convenient to Monteagle and Tracy City. We enjoyed our stay very much!
This is my second time at the Retreat and first time at this home. I enjoyed my stay. Lovely porch to watch the sunset. The home had all the necessities that was needed for my 3 night stay.
Great place. Great lot that has you looking at trees, not into a neighbor' kitchen. Waterfall just a few minutes hike. Great region for hiking. Responsive host.
We loved everything about our stay and the property. The location is close to other tiny homes but we had plenty of privacy and space. The property was very clean and offered nice cookware, glassware, coffee pods and toieltries. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
We can in for the weekend to visit friends and family. This was a great place to stay. It was very clean really cozy in fact we are already planning to come back to the area and possibly even stay in the same cabin with our children.
We stayed at Nesthaven to attend a concert at the Caverns and were not disappointed. The neighborhood is great with a lot of hiking trails. We will be back.
What a great place to stay! The host was very helpful, check in was super easy, the place was very clean and equipped, and it was so close to a trail to beautiful waterfalls! About 15 minutes from the caverns! I couldn’t be any more satisfied! Thank you!
We were in town for a show at the caverns. Check-in was very easy, communication was exceptional!! Saturday, the day after our show, was a "free" day for us. We packed sandwiches, hiked a short distance to the waterfall...it was absolutely gorgeous!! The property/park was perfect- inviting, clean, cozy and very homey!! We would definitely recommend and would absolutely return for another weekend visit!
This was such a cute little place! So quiet and peaceful. There’s a waterfall nearby and you can hear it from the back porch. Lots of deer on the property if it’s quiet. Plenty of things to do nearby. Especially if you enjoy hiking. We are not pro hikers so we just stuck to some of the easier trails. Sewanee and University of the South is definitely worth checking out as well. Stunning! We loved our stay here and the host was super sweet and very communicative! Will be back!
This tiny house is really cute and the owners were very responsive. We had an issue with the gate code upon arrival late at night but the owners responded immediately. I would suggest that the gate code be sent with all of the other information about checking that comes from vrbo 2 days before check in so that everything is in one place. While the decor and sofa were pretty, the sofa was not the most comfortable and after a long day I was hoping for a comfortable spot to sit and unwind. Those 2 notations are the only issues and everything else was great. This house is well cared for and clean. The owners have thought of many details to make a great stay. I would stay again (with the hope of a new sofa).

About the host
Hosted by Meredith Zeller
We’re a family of four from Middle Tennessee, calling Franklin home. I’m a wife, mom to two adventurous kids, and an outdoor enthusiast who finds peace in the simplicity of nature. For us, Monteagle has always been a special place to escape the rush of everyday life and reconnect as a family. Whether we’re hiking the beautiful trails at Fiery Gizzard, grabbing a delicious bite at the Mountain Goat Market, or simply sitting around the campfire roasting marshmallows and watching the stars, Monteagle always feels like a little slice of heaven.
Hosting Nesthaven is such a joy for us. We’ve poured so much love into creating a cozy space where people can unwind and make their own special memories. There’s something so rewarding about welcoming guests to our tiny home and sharing the magic of this area. It’s not just about providing a place to stay—it’s about creating an experience, whether that’s finding peace in the quiet forest, exploring the local trails, or just enjoying a cup of coffee on the deck while the creek hums in the background.
It’s our hope that every guest feels as at home and refreshed here as we do. From one nature-loving family to another, welcome to Nesthaven—we can’t wait to host you!
Why they chose this property
We chose this property because it was love at first sight. The moment we saw it, we knew it was something truly special. Nestled at the end of a private, wooded drive, it felt like our own hidden retreat—a place where we could unplug, slow down, and fully immerse ourselves in nature. The sound of the creek flowing through the property sealed the deal for us. There’s something so calming and magical about having that natural soundtrack in the background, whether it’s a soft trickle on a quiet day or a lively stream after the rain.
The location was also a huge draw for us. Being close to Monteagle meant we’d have easy access to some of our favorite outdoor activities, like hiking at Fiery Gizzard or exploring the trails to hidden waterfalls. It’s the perfect mix of seclusion and convenience—far enough from the hustle and bustle to feel like an escape, but close enough to enjoy great food, local shops, and all the outdoor adventures we love as a family.
For us, this property wasn’t just about finding a place to stay; it was about creating a home away from home, where we could share our love of the outdoors with our kids and make lifelong memories. We knew it was a place we’d want to share with others, too—a cozy little haven where guests could feel the same sense of peace, connection, and adventure that drew us here in the first place.
What makes this property unique
What sets our property apart from others in the neighborhood is the way it perfectly combines privacy, charm, and thoughtful design to create a truly one-of-a-kind experience. Nesthaven sits at the end of a private, gated drive, offering an unparalleled sense of seclusion and tranquility. You’re surrounded by lush forest, with a peaceful creek that runs alongside the property—adding a magical touch you won’t find everywhere.
Unlike many other properties, Nesthaven feels both cozy and spacious. Our tiny home is designed to make the most of every square foot, with a two-story layout, a loft overlooking the great room, and large windows that bring in an abundance of natural light and stunning forest views. Outside, the oversized deck, firepit area, and over an acre of land give you plenty of space to unwind, play, and explore.
We’ve also paid close attention to the details to make your stay special. From the twinkling string lights above the firepit to the hammocks nestled between the trees, every element of Nesthaven is designed to invite relaxation and connection with nature. And for those who love to hike and explore, we’re just steps away from some of the most beautiful trails in the area, including a secret waterfall that’s well worth the trek.
Nesthaven isn’t just a place to stay; it’s an experience. Whether you’re here to escape into nature, gather around the campfire with loved ones, or just enjoy the peaceful sound of the creek, you’ll find a sense of magic and retreat that’s uniquely ours.
