We had an amazing time staying at the Stone Mountain Inn! The cabin is beautiful and set perfectly in the mountains with a gorgeous view off of the front porch. The amenities are perfect for group settings, with the game room downstairs and open layout for relaxing and hanging out with multiple people. The hot tub, pool table, foosball, arcade games, and cornhole were all thoroughly used and appreciated. We really enjoyed how close all the hikes and waterfalls are! Turtleback falls was around 35-40 minutes. The parking for the driveway was a little steep, but we parked at the top of the hill and walked down just fine. We will definitely be back! Perfect place to get away in the North Carolina mountains.

We unfortunately had quite the experience at this property! The house was as listed and had no issues with that- but in order to get to the house you must first conquer the driveway! We took 3 cars down the steep, muddy, washed out hill to unload and could not get 2 cars back up. We ended the weekend with 3 total tows, a host who was unavailable for help, and more stress than we asked for on vacation! AAA even said “we will not come, this is a dangerous area”. I would not recommend this property until the driveway has been majorly repaired in some way bc even with a 4x4 vehicle it is worrisome.

About the host

Hosted by Heidi - Stone Mountain Inn

Host profile image
I love discovering special places that bring people together, and The Stone Mountain Inn is exactly that kind of destination. I'm passionate about the outdoors, spending time with family and friends, and creating memorable experiences in unique settings. When I first saw the breathtaking mountain views, peaceful surroundings, and incredible sense of privacy this property offers, I knew it was a place worth sharing with others.

As a host, my goal is to provide a comfortable, welcoming retreat where guests can disconnect from the stress of everyday life and reconnect with nature, adventure, and each other. Whether you're relaxing on the wraparound porch, enjoying the arcade lounge, soaking in the hot tub, gathering around the fire pit, or exploring the many outdoor activities nearby, I hope you'll create lasting memories during your stay.

I take pride in maintaining the property to a high standard and want every guest to feel at home while experiencing everything that makes this mountain getaway so special. I’m grateful you've chosen The Stone Mountain Inn and hope it becomes a place you'll want to return to again and again.

Why they chose this property

I chose this area because it offers the perfect balance of privacy, natural beauty, and adventure. Perched high in the mountains between Brevard and Lake Toxaway, the property provides breathtaking layered mountain views, peaceful surroundings, and a true sense of escape that is increasingly hard to find.

What I love most is that you can enjoy complete tranquility on 7 private acres while still being close to some of Western North Carolina's most popular destinations. Guests can spend the day exploring waterfalls at Gorges State Park, tubing or fishing on the French Broad River, mountain biking, ziplining, skiing, or visiting the shops, restaurants, and breweries in nearby Brevard. Then return to a quiet mountaintop retreat to relax in the hot tub, gather around the fire pit, or take in the sunset from the wraparound porch.

To me, this location offers the best of both worlds: a secluded mountain sanctuary surrounded by nature, coupled with easy access to outdoor recreation, dining, and local attractions. It's the ideal setting for creating unforgettable memories while experiencing the beauty, peace, and adventure that make this region so special.

What makes this property unique

The Stone Mountain Inn is a rare mountain retreat that combines complete privacy, breathtaking views, and resort-style amenities all in one unforgettable destination. Perched atop a mountain on 7 private acres, the property offers stunning layered mountain views overlooking Lake Jocassee, creating a peaceful setting that feels worlds away from everyday life.

What truly sets the property apart is its unique balance of relaxation and entertainment. Guests can spend their days enjoying the massive wraparound porch, hiking the property, gathering around the fire pit, soaking in the hot tub, or unwinding in the sauna. For indoor fun, the home features an impressive game and arcade area with a pool table, ping pong table, foosball, air hockey, and arcade games, making it ideal for families, groups, and multi-generational vacations.
The home itself has been meticulously maintained and was previously used only occasionally as a private vacation retreat, giving it a fresh, pristine feel that is difficult to find in a rental property.

Beyond the property, guests are perfectly situated to enjoy some of Western North Carolina's best attractions, including Brevard, Lake Toxaway, Headwaters Outfitters, Gorges State Park, local breweries, mountain biking, fishing, ziplining, skiing, and endless hiking opportunities.

Whether you're seeking a peaceful mountain sanctuary, an outdoor adventure basecamp, or a gathering place for family and friends, The Stone Mountain Inn offers a truly unique experience that combines luxury, seclusion, natural beauty, and entertainment in one spectacular location.

Note: Due to the mountain setting, a 4x4 vehicle is required to access the property.
