This was truly a highlight of our family vacation to Ireland. Our daughter woke up here on her tenth birthday, a total surprise to her until we pulled in after landing at Shannon. She hasn’t stopped talking about it. The castle accommodations were lovely, the grounds of the castle were so well maintained and absolutely beautiful. Updates to kitchen, bathrooms, etc. were so nicely done while also maintaining the history. We slept very well here - beds were comfortable and it was dark and quiet in the area. It was also easy to have a taxi or Uber come to the front gate of the property if needed. Very close to Athlone by car, we spent a lot of time in town, hopped on a Viking Shannon River cruise, enjoyed local restaurants and pubs. Joan, the property manager, met us upon arrival and was very kind and helpful. We have saved this property to share with other family and friends. What a special place it is. Thank you for the hospitality!

Staying in this castle was an unforgettable experience for our family of eight. After spending our trip touring so many historic sites, actually getting to stay in a real castle was something special—it truly brought everything to life for us.The property was spacious and comfortable, easily accommodating all of us, and it had such a unique charm you just can’t replicate anywhere else. We also really appreciated all the thoughtful extras—those touches did not go unnoticed and made our stay even more enjoyable.Thank you for such a memorable experience. We would absolutely recommend this stay to anyone looking for something unique and meaningful.

Moyvannan Castle is an incredible property, a true Irish castle that has a lot of character and beauty and all the modern amenities anyone would expect, is very spacious and had plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate our family vacation. Everything there, inside an out is absolutely beautiful - the furniture, art, other decorations, everything is arranged with care and very fitting to the overall environment. The grounds are also well maintained and spacious and worth exploring.The 3 bedrooms in the tower and 2 in the main house are spacious, comfortable and well decorated, and an elevator is present for those not willing to climb the stone spiral staircase up the tower.The proximity to Athlone is a plus, with plenty nearby shopping and dining. The central Ireland location is also convenient for day trip expeditions.This could have easily been a 5 star review if it wasn't for various problems that we encountered during our stay: a noisy water circulation system AND noisy heating system were the biggest issue and interfered with our sleep, dining and overall enjoyment. Several appliances also didn't work: living room TV and stereo, fireplace, coffee maker, ice machine and others. None of these issues were disclosed ahead of time. We also had an issue with the security system our first night there. All these issues are fixable and should be fixed or at least disclosed for future guests.

This castle is absolutely beautiful. It was a dream to stay in a castle in Ireland and this stay was the highlight of our trip. Our 3 daughters each had their own rooms in the tower and they loved it! We will definitely be back!

Absolutely amazing!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Moyvannan Castle with our family. Joan was such a sweetheart and communication with her was seamless. We would highly recommend staying here to everyone. The property was so gorgeous, had everytging we needed, and staying there was a dream come true. Martin and Joan, thank you both for everything!!

Anyone looking for an authentic Ireland vacation should consider this property. It is centrally located in Ireland which grants you shorter access to all corners of the country. The accommodations were outstanding in every way, from the comfortable sleeping arrangements to the kitchen containing all amenities. The host was responsive and fulfilled every request. The grounds were spacious with a sense of privacy. I would highly recommend reserving this property for your Ireland vacation.

Words cannot describe how special this property is. The attention to detail from a historic perspective, left us in awe. Communication with our host was flawless. A Beautiful Castle

Had a wonderful stay at Moyvannan Castle. Truly a unique experience. The book on the history of the castle lets you almost feel like you are back in time. All the rooms are beautifully furnished. Kitchen is well stocked for almost any cook. Huge dining room. Bedrooms spacious. The circular staircase in the turret is a little tight but a lift makes it easy to get up to the top bedroom (it was built a long time ago). The grounds are beautiful and the outdoor seating area is perfect. You are out in the country and wake to the sound of bleating sheep!! When we arrived Joan was there to meet us and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommended!!
