About this property
Historic 3-Bedroom Guest Suite · Prime Forest Park Location in Central West End
This private, top-floor guest suite occupies the former servants’ quarters of an 1890s mansion located at the historic Lindell Boulevard entrance to Forest Park.
You will have the entire three-bedroom top-floor suite to yourself.
The layout is spacious and well suited for families or groups, with a large family room that includes two convertible couches for additional sleeping and multiple TVs throughout the suite.
Large windows provide direct views of Forest Park, including the historic entrance and surrounding green space.
The kitchenette is compact but fully functional and designed for light meals and daily convenience. It includes a Nespresso machine, coffee maker, electric kettle, countertop Breville convection oven, dishwasher, and a small refrigerator.
The home sits at the edge of Forest Park and at the gateway to the Central West End, one of St. Louis’s most walkable and desirable neighborhoods.
Forest Park is immediately adjacent and is home to many of the city’s most significant cultural institutions, including the Saint Louis Zoo, the Saint Louis Art Museum, the Missouri History Museum, the Saint Louis Science Center, and The Muny (Municipal Opera), the country’s largest outdoor musical theater. The park also offers golf courses, tennis courts, and seasonal ice skating.
The Chase Park Plaza Hotel is just steps away and offers multiple restaurants, bars, and a full movie theater, all within a short walk of the suite.
Daily conveniences are close at hand, including grocery stores, cafés, and a wide range of dining options throughout the Central West End. The Barnes–Children’s Hospital complex is also within easy walking distance.
In addition to Forest Park, the Central West End is home to the World Chess Hall of Fame and the Saint Louis Chess Club. Together, they have helped make St. Louis an internationally recognized center for competitive chess. The neighborhood regularly hosts national and international tournaments, bringing visiting players, families, and chess enthusiasts to the area. Both the Hall of Fame and the Chess Club are an easy walk from the suite.
Guests enjoy the privacy of a full guest suite while staying in a historic, owner-occupied home that has played a role in St. Louis civic and architectural history for more than a century. Historic postcards and photographs of the property, displayed throughout the suite, reflect its long relationship with Forest Park and the surrounding neighborhood.
Other Details to Note
This is a top-floor guest suite in a historic 1890s home and requires walking up two flights of stairs. There is no elevator.
Access to the suite is through a shared interior hallway of the owner-occupied home, followed by a private stairway to the top floor.
Once upstairs, the guest suite itself is entirely private and reserved for your stay. We respect guest privacy completely and do not enter the suite unless invited.
As with many historic buildings, the home includes original architectural features and period details that reflect its age and character.
The location is urban and very walkable. As a result, you may occasionally hear typical city activity.

Why they chose this property
We chose this neighborhood because it offers a rare combination of walkability, green space, and central access to the rest of the city.
The home sits at the edge of Forest Park and at the gateway to the Central West End, making it easy for guests to enjoy St. Louis without relying on a car.
Forest Park is immediately adjacent and home to the Saint Louis Zoo, Saint Louis Art Museum, Missouri History Museum, Saint Louis Science Center, and The Muny.
The Central West End also offers a wide range of dining, cafés, and everyday conveniences, all within walking distance.
The neighborhood is well connected by public transit, with a MetroLink station within walking distance.
Both Washington University’s main campus and medical campus are walkable from the home, with the property located roughly between the two.
By car, the location is about five minutes from Saint Louis University, ten minutes from downtown St. Louis, and ten minutes from Clayton, making it especially convenient for visitors who want easy access across the city.
The area is also home to the World Chess Hall of Fame and the Saint Louis Chess Club, which host national and international tournaments throughout the year. Combined with proximity to the Chase Park Plaza and the Barnes–Children’s Hospital complex, this is a location that works equally well for leisure travel, family visits, medical stays, and longer visits.

What makes this property unique
This is a private, top-floor three-bedroom suite located within an 1890s mansion at the historic Lindell Boulevard entrance to Forest Park.
The combination of space, privacy, and location is difficult to find in St. Louis.
The home was originally built by Judge Boyle, an influential early St. Louis civic leader who served on the planning committee for the 1904 World’s Fair. Because of its prominent position at what was historically the main entrance to Forest Park, the property appeared frequently in early-20th-century newspapers and postcards.
Several historic postcards and images featuring the home and this corner of Forest Park are displayed throughout the suite.
Guests enjoy the comfort of a full suite with multiple bedrooms, a large family room, and a kitchenette, while staying steps from Forest Park and the Central West End.
Most nearby hotels offer smaller rooms, and most larger rentals are located farther from the park and neighborhood amenities.
Staying here offers a rare opportunity to enjoy a spacious, private suite in a home that has been part of St. Louis’s civic and cultural history for more than a century, while remaining walkable to Forest Park, museums, dining, and transit.
