Perfect choice for Alfred Univ./Alfred State visitors

(Although this is a new listing on Vrbo, we have a 4.97 rating on another popularly used site, with over 300 stays, since 2018).

Nestled on 3 acres of woods and open yard space, complete with a quaint stream, your cozy getaway awaits you at our charming, quiet and private home. Featuring a large living room and 3 distinctly different bedrooms including a queen, twin, and full beds, guests will have a very comfortable and spacious stay.

Convenience is an understatement. In addition to both campuses, “downtown" Alfred is within easy walking distance. The Finger Lakes wine region is 40 minutes away, Letchworth State Park (the “Grand Canyon of the East”) is less than an hour, Watkins Glen is 2 hours.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW: THE HOUSE LOWER LEVEL IS ENTIRELY YOURS: however, we are upstairs; no shared spaces. Vrbo doesn’t have a space selection that clearly identifies our situation. Our listing shows it to be a “house” but in reality our guests have the entire 1st floor of the House; we are on the second level. With that in mind, know that we have an open stairwell that accesses both levels, visually blocked off with a shoji screen. We respect your privacy and you are by yourselves, but some sound can carry up and/or down. We only come to your area early morning to drop off breakfast goodies and to clean after you leave for day’s activities. We want you to feel at home and have the extra comfort of knowing you will not share the space with others so we do not do multiple or shared space bookings.

There is NO KITCHEN but we do have a “Breakfast Nook” available for our guests with a small size refrigerator, microwave, toaster and hot water pot. All surfaces and these small appliances are wiped with disinfectant prior to guest arrivals. For the morning, we typically provide fresh fruits, homemade banana bread, granola, yogurt, etc. along with freshly ground high quality coffee, tea and juice.

We have books, children's toys, games and puzzles galore. For TV watchers, you have Netflix and other options (remote devices are cleaned with disinfectant). You are welcome to sign in to your own streaming accounts if you wish to use apps that we don’t have.


PET POLICY: PETS are allowed conditionally and with ADVANCE APPROVAL only, please. Rather than automatic booking, please submit your request 1st. Pets/dogs must be house-broken, non-chewers, quiet and are not to be left behind if you leave the house. Please pick up after them if they make “deposits” in the yard.
