The cabin blends rustic charm with modern convenience, featuring a fully remodeled kitchen with new appliances and a dishwasher for easy meals. If you'd rather dine out, a local favorite bar and restaurant is just a short stroll away.
Enjoy uninterrupted lake views from the four-season porch, or cozy up by the indoor fireplace for a game night. Whether you choose to go screen-free or take advantage of the Wi-Fi, there are plenty of ways to relax and recharge.
Swimming & Water Activities:
The swimming area near the newly replaced dock (2024) is perfect for all ages. The sandy, shallow shoreline is great for little ones, while deeper waters and a floating dock provide fun for swimmers of all skill levels.
Fishing:
Big Lake spans 63 acres in Shawano County, with a maximum depth of 38 feet. Catch Largemouth Bass, Panfish, Northern Pike, and Walleye—right from the dock! Need bait or local fishing tips? Stop by Gresham Hardware Store, just 10 minutes away.
Boating:
As a private lake, Big Lake doesn’t offer public boat access, but we provide 2 adult kayaks, 3 kid kayaks, a stand-up paddleboard, and a pedal boat for you to enjoy during your stay.
Dog-Friendly Stay:
We welcome up to two dogs! Please keep them on the property and clean up after them to ensure a great experience for all guests.

Your host
Hi! We live in Madison, Wisconsin. I bought the cabin to have a fun, wholesome escape for my three kids, ages 7 (twins) and 10. We love going to the cabin year-round! The summer days are packed with swimming, kayaking and fishing and our winter days are relaxing in the hot tub and ice fishing on the lake - with plenty of card games around the dining table. We hope you love it as much as we do.
