Cozy while having all needed amenities. Scenic 40 min drive to Acadia which was perfect for the price range. Becka is an attentive, responsive, and gracious host. Would stay again next time up here and would recommend to others!

Jake was a great guest, easy to communicate with and tidy! We would welcome him back!
I booked because it was so close to Acadia national park. The property looks as it’s listed, the toilet is compost so keep that in mind before booking. Also, there was no running water in the tiny home. A jug of water was provided that we could refill. That could be because of it being April and maybe the tiny home was not winterized. There is WiFi. No tv. The owner had downstairs wash room in the main house where we showered which was amazing. We had great time and the owner was very friendly and responding quickly to questions we had. And you can’t beat the price!! All in all it was great stay. 4/5 because we did not have running water.
Great little tiny home with many amenities! It was clean and quiet with privacy in a lovely setting.
The pros:
-Becka was excellent with communication! She reached out ahead of our arrival to give us a heads up about the town layout and lack of grocery store so we could stop at the grocery store in the adjacent town for food, etched made sure we were aware of where to park and how to enter. She even had a folder on the counter with maps of the surrounding land and a slew of information.
-The home was well-equipped with pots/pans/dishes, soap and shampoo & conditioner, towels, blankets, etc.
-Everything was eco-friendly! The compost toilet was a little strange at first but we got used to it quickly. Since it’s a farm, we could compost all of our food scraps as well, and the toiletries and cleaners were also eco friendly.
-Plenty of hot water for showers!
-Everything worked properly
Cons:
Really, the only thing was the bedroom area. The ceiling is very low (about 3 feet tall) and being tall people, this was a minor issue. We literally crawled into bed and learned real quick not to sit up in bed too quickly lol. Overall though, not a huge deal.
We’d stay again if we go back to the area.

About the host
Hosted by Becka Gagne
My family and I have been living and farming on this land for the past 22 years, we’ve built up a rich ecosystem of plants and trees along with the native beauties that are already here. We love to welcome visitors from around the world to experience a little slice of country living on the edge of the wilderness in Downeast Maine.
Why they chose this property
This beautiful land is backed up to Maine public reserve land, we are right next to the sunrise Trail, which leads all the way from Ellsworth Maine up to Calais Maine. There is a beautiful remote pond about 15 minute hike away (we have a canoe you can use!), and a huge trail system for all of your hiking or biking pleasures.
What makes this property unique
Here you can enjoy the beauties of nature while also being close enough to Acadia to enjoy all of the riches of this land. During the summer we have a thriving farm stand at the end of the road, our own chickens that you will see wandering around(and we do have eggs for sale also!) and a pet pig that you can feed all of your compost too…
