We had a really a great time on an overnight mid-week get away at the property. For not much more than what we would have spent on a lousy hotel we got the full vacation vibe. The space is modern, private and fully equipped with everything you need.
Absolutely horrible! Soon as we walked in, there was an awful odor to the place. Toilet seat was not mounted to the floor. Only 2 bath towels that were still dirty. The Grass wasn’t even cut. Vrbo should be ashamed of themselves listing this.
Has potential. However, never received check in information as promised 24 hrs prior to arriving. I had to reach out to VRBO and they provided the host’s contact information. After several attempts, the host finally replied. Also, the place was not clean, the shower leaked and water was coming up from floor boards in main living area. Lawn was overgrown and we asked for firewood but none was ever provided. Grill was a mess with no brush to clean it and no grilling utensils available. Missing lock on back door which meant the property was not safe and secure. Keurig coffee maker did not work. Sheets and bedspread were dirty. We had one towel and no wash clothes, hand towels, or kitchen towels. I had to go out and buy sheets and towels for our stay.
We left one day early because there was issues with water coming up thru the floor all over, the toilet was super wabbly like it wasnt mounted to the floor, the coffee maker didnt work, the door to little outside patio didnt work well the one handle very loose struggled to pull it shut. The yard not mowed around the patio, weeds, bugs, cobwebs and dust ,when we got there it was understood by the owner that they hadnt upgraded to the keypad entry so he would leave the key under the mat. When we arrived the key was literally right in the door. As far as the water issue, we are not sure if it was rain related or from the shower,it was very bad after a shower, our bags were sitting in tv,living area and the water was coming up from the floor. Our things wrre soaked. Another thing is that there was a rubber mat in the bathroom to step out on from shower. Just a note, super slippery when wet. I have a hip and knee issue and almost fell. Also, there should be at least 1 roll of TP when folks arrive. Especially when driving for 5 hours. Cosmetically it is a. Cute place but many things were wrong with it. The water being the biggest problem. The toilet not being anchored to floor. I just couldnt stay. My husband extremely upset. We have spent 4k on 2 rentals this summer and I dont typically complain about too much but you really should vet these properties before renting. This is your reputation at stake. I probably will not be going thru VRBO again. I love upstate NY. But I had to go home
