The World Traveller Suite is the grandest room in the historic Engadine Inn, a Victorian bed and breakfast built in 1885. This spacious suite honors the well travelled lives of Engadine’s original owners, Captain John Keais Hoyt and Mary Elizabeth Bensel Hoyt, who journeyed from New York’s Gilded Age society to the vineyards of Western North Carolina and even across Europe. Their experiences inspired both the name Engadine and the global touches reflected in this suite’s décor.
Historic Touch
This suite features reclaimed 150 year old barnwood flooring salvaged from Engadine’s original barn, giving the room a direct link to the estate’s past. A grand king sized Victorian canopy bed anchors the space, recalling the elegance of the home’s earliest years, when Engadine was considered one of the most modern and prestigious homes in the valley
