The location is awesome. Quiet neighbors (when we were there at least), and decently private from all sides. The beds were comfortable enough for me! The cottage was tidy and clean when we got there. The layout is nice and spacious. The building is a bit rough around the edges, but nothing unforgivable: There is a very noisy/springy floor in the main part of the cottage and some of the windows had missing or broken shades (host says they're on order). The hot water tank does not last long and recharges slowly, so plan your showers. The kitchen is decently stocked and the appliances are all very new, including the BBQ. The TV has a VCR and DVD connected with a good selection of movies, but the TV is mounted at an odd angle so viewing isn't the best. Ample firewood was available for the indoor stove and outdoor firepit but no kindling (I just chopped my own). Lots of seating inside and outside and a good mix of shady and sunny spots. I was surprised to find I had to sweep even with the cleaning fee but that is minor imo. In summary, I would not hesitate to stay here again in spite of the detractors as I found the listing to be a great value and the host was great to work with. Thanks for a great stay!

The location of this property was great. The cabin was cute but needs some TLC. Stairs from the deck to the water weren’t great. The siding needs a good clean. Blind in the bathroom is broken. Lots of cobwebs above the cabinets. The host didn’t seem to know what was available at his own property. He had messaged me that bedding wasn’t included (a very large detractor). I appreciated him letting us know but he said all the beds were queen and the bunk was double beds as per the listing. In the photos it showed a keurig. I asked the host if kuerig pods were provided and he said no so we specifically went and bought pods. When we arrived it was a drip coffee machine and only one filter was provided. We would definitely not return to this property just based on all these issues. I really hated that bedding and towels were not provided. We were also charged a 120 dollar cleaning fee but were expected to sweep, vacuum, put away all the dishes and remove the garbage. We always leave a place clean but thought based on the cleaning fee the expectations were pretty high.
