The cabin is very warm and cozy, there is a new construction site RIGHT beside the cabin that we were not aware of before arriving but there wasnt any problem due to it being there aside from a little loss of privacy and ambiance. We were thrilled to learn that we could ride our atv from the cabin to the national forest trail head. Overall we were very very happy and would stay again!Ps: we got engaged in the starry night cabin 9/11/25
J.W. and I really enjoyed our time here. We spent time with family who was camping for the Easter holiday. This cabin was very clean and cozy. Deidre was informative and very welcoming. We had a wonderful stay.
I took my girlfriend for a romantic weekend. There was almost a snafu getting the place but it worked out after talking to the manager. The cabin is a lovely 2 person romantic retreat. It's rather small, like a studio apartment but the kitchen was great with a full size fridge with freezer and nice microwave. There were some snacks and coffee available and the cabinets were stocked with plates and glasses. The bed is a comfortable king size bed. We enjoyed an artificial fireplace that provided some romantic light at night. The full size bathroom was fully stocked with lots of towels and shampoo / soap. A/C worked well and kept us cool. The hot tub was set to 107 which was a little hot for us so we had to figure out how to cool it down. Once cooled a little it was terrific. When I had questions the manager was very responsive. There is a TV with Direct TV but we never watched it, and I think a surround sound system that we also never used. The road in has several potholes along the way and one group of potholes are very bad so you have to carefully navigate around them. There are also large nut trees above the cabin so when one of those falls it makes a big racket and startled us which happened twice in 2 days. The location is very close to the maze and putt-putt and several restaurants and an ice cream shop.Overall we had a phenomenal time there, highly recommend it, and would love to visit again.
Terrible Experience - Doesn't Match Description - Dishonest host
No Fishing pond on site anywhere. Just an overgrown piece of property that backs up to construction, which isn't mentioned in the listing. To make things worse, on our second night when we returned to the cabin the AC had gone out and it was pushing 80 degrees in there. I contacted Deidre to let her know what was going on. She was able to get a technician out there and with in a few hours the air was back on. By this time it was almost 11 at night. She had stated in the text that she didn't know why this was happening because it was a new system. The technician let me know that was completely untrue. It was an old unit and he could tell by how much junk was built up on the coils which cause them to freeze over and that much more work would have to be done on the unit for it to perform properly. She also stated, with no caveat or stipulation, that she would be refunding the night, as you can see in the pictures. When I message her again on Monday asking her if she had initiated the refund, she began giving me the run around. Trying to say she was only going to provide the refund if the AC couldn't be fixed or we had to stay somewhere else. That was never once stated in our conversation. Only that she would be providing a refund for the night and that she wished there was more she could do.I would caution against staying here. Misleading listing coupled with a dishonest host. You'd be better off somewhere else. I've never had a problem like this with a host on here before.

We’re truly sorry that your experience didn’t meet your expectations. However, I’d like to clarify a few important points for future guests.
There is a seasonal pond on the property, which varies in visibility depending on rainfall levels — and we do not advertise it as a stocked fishing pond. The surrounding area is undergoing some development, as is common in growing vacation destinations like Hochatown, but it does not affect access to or enjoyment of the cabin itself.
Regarding the AC issue, as soon as I was informed, I offered the guest two options: I could either help him relocate to another place or have the AC repaired that night. He chose to have the unit repaired, as there were no viable alternative accommodations available during the holiday weekend. I immediately contacted a technician who arrived late Saturday night and had the system fully functioning within 90 minutes.
After the repair, the guest informed me that the AC was still not cooling — which was misleading. I later confirmed with the HVAC technician that the unit was in working order when they left. While I initially offered a refund based on the belief that the issue persisted, I chose not to issue one after verifying the repair had been completed and the cabin remained comfortable for the rest of the stay.
I take guest comfort and communication seriously and strive to respond quickly and transparently to any issue. That said, the misinformation I received and the tone of our conversations were concerning. I genuinely feel for any future host who may encounter similar challenges despite doing their best to resolve issues in good faith.
Many guests have had positive experiences at our cabin, and I remain committed to providing a clean, comfortable, and honest stay.
