I highly recommend the Lazy Bear Lodge to anyone looking to visit the Stowe area. The house was very comfortable for our group of 8 adults. The location made accessing the Stowe Ski area quite easy and the owners were very responsive.
Our group fall trip was to Vermont this year and the Lazy Bear Lodge was a perfect fit for us.
Plenty of room, well equipped, secluded and a great view! It suited us well. Close enough to town when needed. Would recommend!
Beautiful cabin for a blizzard-bound ski weekend getaway
We really enjoyed our stay. The area received upwards of 10 inches of snow on the Friday we arrived but we were able to make it to the cabin in our sedan on the roads that were pretty well plowed. Relaxing in the hot tub was a great way to unwind after a day of skiing and the kitchen was well equipped to accommodate cooking and eating group meals. We didn't use them but I saw that there were sleds in the basement closet which would be appealing to families with kids. Lots of board games in the game closet! 10am checkout was a little earlier than we are used to with rental properties, it would have been nice to have a little more time to eat breakfast and pack up in the morning.
We vaca with our daughters’ families. Plenty of space for all. Comfortable and well appointed. Can’t beat the Mountain View and private setting.

Great vacation house.
Great except for having to be responsible to take the trash and recycling to the dump.

Great house easy access to town - all as advertised
Very happy with house and loved Stowe. My only complaint was that one in our party had only a front wheel drive car - he couldn’t get up driveway - others in the party chauffeured he and his girl friend. I called Friday for a sand and salt and when departed Sunday still no assistance. We pushed him up the drive to main road and no one got hurt so all good. Imagine if he was here alone without others to drive them or help them leave Sunday - can you say stranded. BUT....not acceptable from management so thumbs down for requested service!

Everything we could have hoped for.
Honestly, the place was just outstanding. Much bigger on the inside than it looks from the outside, this charming & comfortable modern reinterpretation of a log cabin gives you gorgeous mountain views (and a large hot tub to enjoy them from), a beautiful, modern kitchen and family room area replete with big screen HDTV, 3 lovely bedrooms (each w/additional TVs) plus a fourth with two sets of bunk beds, 3 full baths, A/C everywhere but the basement (which in late August was both very much necessary and very much beloved by my family)... plus enough robust WiFi to keep our kids occupied while my wife and I stole out for a few hours to visit some of the area's finery breweries. Add in a great location just minutes north of downtown Stowe (and Idletyme Brewing and The Alchemist) and less than half an hour north of Waterbury and the highway (Ben & Jerry's HQ for the kids; the phenomenal Blackback Pub for my wife and I), and you've got the recipe for what was - as far as I can tell - the ideal long weekend in Vermont.

Great House!
Lazy Bear was a great house. We stayed there for 5 nights. Four adults four children. The downstair living room/bunk room/bathroom/king bedroom was a perfect spot for the kids to play and have their own space. They loved the heated floor. The adults had the upstairs living room/kitchen/dining to hang out in. The house was immaculate. The hot tub was perfect and the views were awesome. There is a small hill in the back for the kids to tube down and a lake that was frozen over. You could see the ski mountain from the back. The fireplace in the living room was cozy and convenient. There are lots of games and puzzles at the house for the kids. Negatives included: trash needed to be taken to dump by renter before leaving, not enough hot water for all 8 of us to shower in the morning, propane tank on grill was empty (but it was easy to refill in town and get reimbursed), the safety of the lake was questioned (how deep was it?). Overall this house was a wonderful place to stay while skiing Stowe. We would definitely rent this house again.
