Gerry was so friendly and solicitous ~ I appreciated the sparkling water he offered and his general affability after a very long day of family and driving. The room was exactly what I'd hoped for: Clean, quiet, and convenient to everywhere I needed to go. Beautiful and safe neighborhood. I will definitely return the next time I travel alone.

It is kinda like a youth hostel, clean, and a place you can lay your head. The guy literally sleep in the room adjacent but almost never saw him with my coming and going. He was attentive, friendly, and not creep. Place was not bad at all just not a private room as if in a hotel.
This VRBO was listed as a private guest house and it was not. This is not a “guest house” it is a ROOM fully attached to the hosts home and kitchen. I felt too uncomfortable to stay there as a woman alone as the host is a grown man who lives by himself. I walked out and still have not received a refund….
I was in town for UCSB Alumni Weekend and stayed here for just a night. The room was comfortable and had linens and toiletries provided. There wasn't much of an ocean view but it was a quiet and safe location and nearby street parking was available. The proximity to downtown SB was definitely a perk. The kitchen and bathroom are shared with the host. The bathroom doesn't have a doorknob lock, just a cabin hook. There's a side entry that leads to the kitchen, which you pass through to get to the room. I'd stay here again if I was in town for work, but wouldn't stay here if I planned to be in the room for the majority of the day.
