Space was clean and easy to access. Bed was comfortable. Location is 11/10! Very close to amenities. Check out process was great. Some items provided (shampoo, body wash, coffee, sugar etc) which is helpful. Would stay here again.

Quaint and comfortable. Close to everything downtown Halifax. Steps from waterfront!! Beautiful area.
Location was great, quite a bit of street noise, however that could not be helped. Lock box to gain entrance was of issue, we struggled to open the box and to close the box when leaving. Other guests were having the same issue. Would suggest replacing with a better system.
A lovely apartment in a fabulous location. The host was exceptionally responsive and the check in process was clear and smooth.

Hi. The baseboards and floors were dirty. There were rips in the bedspread in the bedroom closest to the bathroom. The couch was very worn and dirty. Lastly there was a mouse that ran across the kitchen floor on Wednesday around 8 pm. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was very clean. Overall the unit did not look like the photos online.
Extremely comfortable and clean townhouse apartment in a great area of Halifax. The host responded to each question we had faster than I would ever expect of anyone! VRBO has the address a bit off, but the host gives you exactly where it is and how everything is laid out. This includes trouble-free instructions on getting into the apartment.
There were a lot of things that were empty but the renter sent someone to fill them quickly. The main thing that was frustrating was i did a lights wash and either the washer or dryer put black stuff all over all the whites. I told the renter this and they said that it needs to be replaced.... no offer to pay for the ruined white clothes or anything. That was not ok to me because they clearly already knew it wasnt good.... we were staying for 10 days in this location. Laundry had to happen. frustrating

Thank you very much for your review.
As outlined in our check-in information and property details, we are always happy to accommodate reasonable requests for additional items. On longer stays, guests often have extra needs, and we do our best to meet those expectations and deliver any requested items to the unit.
Regarding the laundry issue, the guest had mentioned experiencing a problem, and we advised that the machine was scheduled for replacement—which has since been completed following this stay. We were not aware that the guest was seeking compensation for any damage to personal property. Had we been made aware, we certainly would have done our best to address it at the time. We understood the message simply as feedback about the appliance.
We will reach out to the guest to see if there is a way we can still help resolve this matter. Thank you again for the feedback—we appreciate it and will continue working to improve the experience for future guests.
Lane's place was incredible! I was traveling with family on the east coast and decided to do a night in Halifax before heading back to Ontario. I do not regret booking this beautiful suite! The historic charm and modern touches really made us feel cozy and comfortable. The location was PERFECT! Right in the heart of the downtown only a minute's walk from the waterfront and great restaurants. If you’re looking for charm, location and a really responsive and considerate host, this is a great place. Wish I had more time to spend at Lane's place and can't wait to visit again.

Thank you so much for staying with us and for all the kind words. Look forward to hosting you again in the future
I’d give this place 3.5-4 stars. First off, the address is wrong in the listing — it’s what the photos show (Morris Street), which is a historical building right downtown near the water. Parking is easy and convenient. The owner didn’t send checkin / address info until I asked for it the afternoon before arrival. I’d also asked for parking info months before (when I originally booked) and never got a reply. Fortunately, on the day of arrival, the owner was communicative and allowed us to get in an hour early. From the notes the owner sent (including “no noise after 11pm” and the odd address change noted above), my guess is the apartments in this building probably aren’t supposed to be temporary VRBO rentals. The place itself is in a great location, but it’s a bit worn — the hallways, the furniture, the pillows, the shower, etc. Items like an old, dirty air conditioner are shoved into closets, and all the outlets are in inconvenient locations with respect to where one would need to charge a phone while sleeping. If they changed out the furniture, cleaned slightly better, had nicer amenities, and fixed up the place slightly, the apartment would be great. Note that this is on the second floor and there’s no elevator. It’s totally fine for a night or two, but it’s just not a five star.
The Red George was a sweet downtown experience, tucked into the Halifax waterfront area. We enjoyed the sights and sounds of a vibrant city. The historic flat was our last stop during our vacation to the Maritime provinces of beautiful Canada. Tristan was wonderful with communications and provided great recommendations that made our little adventure unforgettable. He made himself available for any issues we had. The flat is on the second floor and has a deck off the kitchen, that we enjoyed in the evenings. Being right downtown was a new experience for us. We usually gravitate toward private and quiet, with dark, starry skies. This was quite different and quite the adventure. We found everything nearby and Halifax is so interesting, with galleries, museums and a rich and fascinating maritime history. Thanks Tristan and Red George for a peek at the city side of life!
