About this property
Unplug, Unwind, and Escape at Lwardcove's private beach!
Tucked away at the end of a quarter-mile driveway, this one-of-a-kind summer cottage offers true privacy with nothing between you and the beach but open sky and soft sand. No cars in sight. No roads to cross. Just you, your people, and the lake.
With 3 cozy bedrooms two nestled up the spiral staircase it’s the perfect summer hideout for families, couples, or a few friends looking to chill out and reconnect. The beach here is bigger than most in the area, giving you room to spread out, soak up the sun, and take in the lake breeze. Surrounded by woods, it’s quiet, peaceful, and about as private as it gets.
At night, light up the fire pit right on the beach and let the sound of waves carry you into the evening. The cottage is equipped with WiFi and a washing machine to keep things easy.
Swimmers itch as well as knats are around so please take cautionary steps. Most swimmers itch is in shallow waters and taking a shower or drying off soon after a swim is part of the lake routine for good times. Playing in shallow water for a long time is not recommended. Knats are attracted to water and food. Capping the drains and sealing all food will keep them to a minimum.
Lwardcove isn’t just a place to stay, it’s the kind of place you’ll want to come back to every summer.

About the host
Hosted by Walker Wynkoop

Hi, I’m Walker. I live here in northern Michigan, but I spent 20 years living in Japan before coming back to my roots. These days, I work in universal design construction, making furniture from logs on the property, carving wood and make stuff for my 1-Year-Old to climb on. She's a climber!
I’m a pretty hands off host when it comes to the cottage rentals. I want guests to have their own peaceful space. But if anything comes up, I’m just a call away, and we’ve got a solid local team to help out. This place is special, surrounded by woods, shaped by nature and I love sharing it with people looking to slow down and jump in!

Why they chose this property
We like the 4 season and all the changes and challenges that come with living at the lake. Last winter we got snowed in for one week, no problem, actually caught 3 Lake Perch. Summer brings all the families and we do our best to avoid the traffic until fall when we enjoy the drives through change colors and slower pace.
Weather your looking to get away from the city or to swim in the crystal clear water this is the place to be.

What makes this property unique
My grandfather and his good friend designed the cottage with inspiration from a pagoda, and you can feel that creative energy in every corner. There’s a sky dome with a chimney running right through the center, something you don’t see every day and a kitchen skylight that my Grandmother insisted in having installed for more light in the kitchen.
Kids love the quirky features and Petoskey stones in the floor to find, just steps from the beach makes it easy to go from breakfast to sandcastles in minutes. Make sure to read up on swimmers itch and poison ivy as it is a thing that could push the breaks on your vacation.
Let the long days of summer turn into cool nights and wake up to the crashing waves in this unique location.
