About this property
Welcome to Wise River - The Tommy James Place
If you are looking for a relaxing getaway, you have found it! Our cabin is located 4 miles from Wise River on the beautiful Pioneer Mountains Scenic By-Way. There are amazing views in all directions as well as fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, skiing and many other adventures just minutes away!!!
“The Tommy James Place” was built in 1978 for our family friend by our father, friends and a small construction crew. As you may gather from some of the décor, many of us worked in the auto industry throughout the years. Our grandmother was a bookkeeper in the 1950’s at Wilson Motors in uptown Butte. Our father started as a mechanic in the Air Force then continued “wrenching” upon his return to the U.S. at Pasley Motors. Dad worked his way through the ranks of the dealerships and in 1991 our parents opened Ed’s Auto Plaza, a well know GM Dealership in Southwest Montana. Of course my sister, brother and I each followed family tradition and spent our share of days working at the dealerships in different capacities.
Upon Pat’s passing our father inherited this wonderful place where we grew up making many family memories. And, as life goes, eventually we three became the owners. Sadly two years we lost our brother; thus the name “The Tommy James Place”.
Now it is up to my family to keep our place and memories alive! In looking around the property at what Mother Nature and the woodpeckers have done over the past several years, we decided to offer the cabin as a rental so we could share this beautiful valley with other families and hopefully offset some of our expenses at the same time. We realize there are newer and fancier places out there for folks to choose from, but when you take a look around our cabin you will see the years’ worth of history and memory making that make this place really feel like home!
