Shangri-La - Bahamas Tropical Beach Villa, Steps from Pink Sand Beach

Shangri-La is a beautiful Bahamian home, located on Old Banks Road, steps from the Atlantic Ocean. The house is surrounded by coconut palms and a meadow that stretches to the Atlantic Ocean. Walk three minutes from the wrap around deck and a magnificent ocean view unfolds.

Upon arriving to Eleuthera, our property managers will meet you at the Banana Beach Estates gate. You will be greeted with complimentary Bahamian drinks and appetizers. Our staff is utterly lovely and they make every effort to make sure you are well taken care of.

Once you enter Shangri-La you will be welcomed by the airiness of the twenty-eight foot ceiling and coastal decor. The open concept living, dining, and newly remodeled kitchen will allow you to enjoy your vacation with all your family. Enjoy the smart tv with access to your Netflix account or use our new Fire Stick with numerous international and local channels as well as free Pay Per View movies. Connect to the web by way of free internet.

The two, large bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms. The master suite has a king size four poster bed, while the second suite has two queen sleigh beds. The master suite has a beautifully renovated ensuite washroom with a large walk-in glass shower. Eleutheran conch shells are embedded in the shower floor. Custom woodworking, by a local craftsman, completes the coastal theme. For those who need extra sleeping space, the open loft has a queen and twin bed. A third washroom, with a washing machine, can be found on the main floor. An additional shower is located outside to rinse off beach sand.

Shangri-La is equipped with ceiling fans and air conditioning throughout. Both bedrooms have a/c units, and the loft has a new a/c which cools the loft and below. Beautiful linens, bath and beach towels have been chosen with attention to quality. The coastal furniture, linens, and Bahamian artwork make for an authentic island getaway.

The kitchen is equipped with cookware, cutlery, coastal dishes, spices, and tropical glassware. The dining room table accommodates six people and additional seating for two at the breakfast peninsula.

The wrap around deck is a perfect spot for listening to the ocean's waves, grilling dinner, and enjoying al fresco meals on the outdoor dining table. Children can enjoy playing on the grass, exploring the neighborhood, or taking walks along this safe cottage road. Relax on the two-person hammock and read a book or have a nap while the palm trees sway in the breeze. Enjoy the quiet and relaxing atmosphere of Shangri-La away from any crowds.

A short walk along the path will take you to a deserted, white sand beach that extends for miles. Bring along Shangri-La's beach chairs and cooler. Spend your day in the turquoise water enjoying swimming, snorkeling, watching the dolphins, or beachcombing. You're likely to be the only people there. A short drive away is French Leave Beach, Twin Coves, Naval Beach, and the calm waters of Cocodimama.

A ten-minute walk takes you to Sky Beach Club and Pascal's Restaurant, FREE access to the infinity pool, hot tub, and swim-up bar. Ask Sammy to make you one of his famous Bahamian drinks. Plus, Shangri-La is only a few minutes' drive from the lovely town of Governor's Harbour, with its century homes, selection of restaurants, and stores.

For larger groups we offer additional rooms in our guest cottage. Orchid Cottage has two bedrooms, one bathroom, and an open concept living and dining area. Each property offers nice privacy, with large palm trees and foliage between the two. This allows a larger group extended space and privacy to celebrate a special occasion.

Enjoy a catered meal and Bahamian cocktails at Shangri-La. The caterers will shop for local seafood and produce, prepare the meal, and provide clean up. A Bahamian experience that will be enjoyed.
