Only 12 Maravilla units are truly Gulf facing - with balconies literally on the Seawall - this is one of those spectacular 12 - and being a side unit adds a window for additional natural light.
Beachy but not overly so, the condo is decorated to welcome you home at the end of a day at the beach, pool, sightseeing, golfing, fishing, crabbing, or whatever Galveston activity suits your fancy. Gorgeous views and a balcony that comfortably accommodates your family for people or dolphin watching, or dinner on the patio!

Fully equipped kitchen with full sized appliances, cook in or eat out at the numerous eateries around. Kitchen has breakfast bar and bar stools, plenty of dishes to feed your army, coffee maker, toaster, blender, mixer, pots and pans, silverware, glassware, knife block, spice rack, etc.
Living room features a wonderful new sleeper sofa, flat panel, wall-mounted TV/DVD combo, additional seating and just plain cozy relaxing!
Complex has two pools and a hot tub, lush tropical landscaping, underground parking, walking distance to miniature golf, batting cages, movie theater, and much more. Schlitterbahn almost in our backyard. Not all amenities are available at all times. Due to cleaning, construction, etc., pools, hot tub and grounds may be inaccessible from time to time.
We welcome up to 2 dogs, combined maximum weight of 100 pounds, to share your space with you - no cats allowed due to owner allergies.

My Galveston Getaway provides starter supplies of toiletries, paper products, dish cleaning options and coffee to get our guests started and situated before making their shopping lists and determining which shopping option works best for their group. These supplies are not intended to last your entire group the duration of your stay - but to get started!
We also provide one bath towel, hand towel and wash cloth for each guest that the unit sleeps, along with 2 dish towels. Should you wish to have additional housekeeping services during your stay or to have linen swaps during your stay, these can be arranged with advance notice upon request at an additional cost.
This condo is owned by a licensed Texas real estate agent.
After making your reservation you will receive a link to complete our renters agreement. The only information we request differently than the booking platforms (VRBO/AirBnB) is your personal email address, the names and ages of each person who will be in the property during your stay, and your driver’s license information as well as an emergency contact should we need to reach someone on your behalf. Thank you for completing this in a timely manner so that we may send you the check-in instructions for the property you have reserved.
Galveston is a barrier island in Texas located on the Gulf of Mexico. From time to time we have unexpected rain, thunderstorms, and sometimes we do have tropical storms and hurricanes. From time to time there may be brief interruptions in electricity and WiFi services due to weather. You should consider purchasing trip interruption or cancelation protection through the platforms or another source. We are unable to guarantee sunny days, mosquito free nights and perfect weather, nor do we refund for these possibilities. We issue refunds in the event of mandatory evacuations issued by a governmental agency, or for the property being unavailable due to damages and extended power outages.

If your cancelation is made between arrival and 13 days prior to your scheduled arrival date, there will be no refund issued.

Was dirty. The bedroom door to balcony didn't work. There wasn't beach supplies as promised
Wasn't happy about paying $20 to park your car, especially when there wasn't parking spots available after 9pm. The owner promised beach supplies in a closet that wasn't there. The room was dirty and the bedroom balcony door didn't work. The dryer barley worked unless you wanted to dry your clothes for 2 hrs. The elevators are slow and some didn't work. The Maravilla property is getting old and run down. We will find somewhere new to stay from now on..

We are sorry that, although you requested early check in and were told that we needed the full time until 4:00 p.m. to ready the property, you arrived before 2:00 p.m. and started loading your belongings in around the housekeepers who were not able to complete their jobs because you wanted to be in early. There is a hand painted cooler for the property in one of the closets, and we are sorry that prior guests did not return the beach toys that were there. We were not notified of this after our last guests by the cleaners. With regard to the parking and elevators, the complex has full control over that and there is not a thing in the world as a property manager and/or owner we can do about those things. This condo has been lovingly renovated and decorated by it's owner, and we have had nothing but rave reviews about it. We are sure sorry that we were unable to make you happy.

The good and the bad
The good....The listing stated this property was updated and I agree to a certain extent. The furniture was newer, functional and ok for a rental. The condo was clean and had sleeping space for 8 although it would have been crowded if all adults. The pool and grounds were nice as well. Loved the pet policy!
The bad...IMO a few dollars invested in small kitchen appliances instead of wall decor on every available space would have been money better spent. The blender doesn't work at all and there was nothing else we could use to make frozen smoothies or drinks. There were a few missing or burned out light bulbs in key areas, the balcony, living area and baths. Also a missing light fixture cover in the bunk room. Lastly, I think you should let folks know upfront about the restriction on the air conditioning. Many people would not care that you can only run the air at 72 or higher but for those of us who feel that is too hot it would have been nice to know before booking.

beach trip
room was changed to a smaller one due to necessary repairs on rented unit--water was turned off at one point during our stay for more repairs and neighbors were making noise all night since we were on the first floor--probably due to the age of the property--good for kids--don't recommend for just adults-
We checked in after 4. Condo was dirty. Pets were there before us. Pet hair every where including master bedroom sheets. We had to wash sheets. Dishes in cabinets were dirty. Toaster only had one side that worked. Toilet wouldn’t flush. Garbage disposal backed up into other sink. Didn’t get to cook in condo after buying groceries at Walmart. Could not use balcony. Swept floor no dustpan. This condo definitely needs some deep attention!!! Will never stay there again
The location of the rental was perfect across from the seawall. The place was clean and tidy. The swimming pools was a great part of the stay. The place was pet friendly.
Had a great time! Really nice swim area, nice view of the ocean. Sad we couldn’t enjoy the balcony but maybe next time. Overall wonderful place to stay.
The location of this property is great. The pool and community area is amazing and very well maintained. The building could use a good face lift. The condo was very well decorated and cute. The cleaning staff didn’t do a great job… had to wipe down counters, and floor needed a good mopping. Great view from the room, wish we would have got to enjoy it from the balcony. Upon arrival we were notified we could not use the balcony and had to sign a waiver.
Overall it was a great trip, and our kids all had smiles on their faces.

We are sorry, we had tried to keep all of our listings updated to include the language about balconies being closed at 74 of the condos at the Maravilla. No one is more upset than we are and we do price them based on amenities being available.
Truly sorry our housekeeping contractors didn't do a great job. We 100% will address with them and would have had them return if you were not 100% happy. Our goal is to EARN 5 star reviews.

Location of condo was great. A little disappointed with beach across from condo. All rocks. Had to walk down Seawall to get to sandy beach. Scenery from balcony was perfect but couldn’t sit on balcony due to construction problems. Owners were very helpful with setting up brand new TVs throughout condo. 3 adults and our dog were very comfortable. Condo was aged but everything worked.

We are so very glad you enjoyed your stay. We try to include everything in our listing - including that while the property is gulf front it is not "beach" front. There are stairs that lead into the water and people walk in regularly to swim and fish, but not the best place to lay out or have a picnic. Also - we do include in our listing that the balconies of 74 units at the Maravilla complex, including this one, are currently off-limits due to concerns for guest safety. It was a pleasure to meet with y'all and visit and we hope to have you Come Stay With Us again sometime.
I reserved this property approximately 8 weeks in advance. The main reason I choose this property was for the great large oceanview balcony it showed and listed in its description. Although I had spoke with reps multiple times days prior to my check in, I was not informed that the balcony was closed due to structural issues until I actually checked in at the front office.
According to the owners of the unit above, the balconies have been closed for several months in that building; however, it was not noted on the property description, reservation, or told to me at the time I reserved the unit. Nor the days prior before I checked in.
I contacted Alison at Galveston Getaways, and was told I would not receive a partial refund.
They were however, very accommodating to returning my pet deposit since I did not bring my pet. I am grateful for that.
The unit is very outdated, and wasnt very clean. There is a very moldy shower curtain, the dryer barely works at all, 2 out of the 3 tvs listed didnt work, and the sheets in the master bedroom were like sandpaper. Also, there is a bad ant problem.
The neighbors are great. The pool area is excellent and the location to the beach and the surrounding area is great as well.
The location was great! The pools are very nice and just a short walk from the condo. The condo was nice and had most of what you needed. The coffee maker wasn’t amazing and when we arrived the balconies were out of order. One of the main reasons for booking this condo was that it faced the ocean and had an amazing balcony to sit out on and drink your morning coffee. Unfortunately we were not notified the balconies were closed, this was very disappointing. We could have saved a lot of money by staying somewhere else had this information be relayed. I realize this is out of the owners control however you can imagine the disappointment when you show up and go to open this amazing balcony only to realize you can’t. Overall it was good stay but before booking I would clarify if the balconies are open if that is important to you! Other than that the check in process was very easy, the condo was clean and ready when we got there. They have plenty of towels and some toilet paper and stuff to get you started.
Nice, cozy, and cute place. Very nicely decorated. Flipped out at first thinking A/C was not working, but later figured it out. Other than that, no issues and staff at the front desk was very friendly and helpful.

Pretty nice place with a great view. Could use a few upgrades, sliding door in master was hard to open and dishwasher didn’t work. Shower head could use an upgrade. Overall our family had a great time!! Location is pretty good! Close to putt putt and go cart racing! Beach access is 0.5 away. Instructions in rental agreement where very helpful! We would consider returning to this unit! Thanks for letting us stay!

We were very disappointed with the condo. We were allowed to check in a little early, but the condo had not been cleaned. I contacted the owner and she got in touch with the cleaning service. We left for a couple of hours while they "cleaned". The only thing that was cleaned were the floors and bathrooms. We had to strip the beds and wash all the sheets and comforters. The bed in the master bedroom still had chip crumbles on the sheets and what appeared to be blood on the comforter. The furniture is not what is pictured on the site. There was red juice on the wall a broken wall hanging in the closet, half of the electrical outlet covers were hanging off, the lint filter for the dryer was horrible, the balcony looked as if it was never cleaned, and the construction outside our window was a bother at 7am. The pool was so dirty one of the owners apologized to us and made a complaint herself. I did bring my issues to the attention of the owner, so she may have made changes.

Wow - all I can say is that I am shaking my head reading this review. This unit was freshly painted not a month ago, so to hear that there are red juice stains on the wall it just surprises me. In addition - the cleaning company we use was voted # 1 in Galveston by the readers of the Galveston Daily News. To hear that they did anything less than a stellar job is mind boggling to me. I certainly am sorry that this guest did not have the best possible vacation as our goal is always to exceed everyone's expectations. We do everything we can to assist our guests and ensure that their vacations are more than they would hope for, and we would have done anything we could have to do the same in this situation had we been notified that he guest was not 100% satisfied - or even more so. We do thank you for bringing these concerns to our attention so that we can go in between our extremely busy booking schedule and check things out to be sure they are perfect for future guests, and hope that you will give us an opportunity to redeem ourselves on a future trip.

Never again
We arrived at this location with no instructions on how to check in. After waiting for over thirty minutes we finally located a security card that informed us we needed to have a check in email. Upon calling the owner we were told she was at her daughters wedding at sent to an assistant . First our room couldnt be found...She gave us one unit number which had people in it. The second room did as well. This made me uncomfortable as she was just handing out pass codes to occupied rooms. She them sent us to a home outside of the location we choose which was all the way across town. It was locked and she could not find key. We then had to travel all the way back to first location and be put into two rooms instead of large room we requested. Assistant was rude and made ud do most of room checks instead of coming down. She hung up on my sister and felt pizza was the only thing needed to make everything better . A DVD player and TV in bedroom were promised but not provided . Also place was being renovation so contrition was everywhere which was never mentioned .

I am so sorry that you had a terrible experience with us and I wish that there was something I could have done to make this better for you and your family. You may even laugh when you hear what happened - at least I hope you do.
A few days prior to your scheduled arrival, the Texas coast was threatened with Tropical Storm Bill. Though it did not affect Galveston, there were threats of heavy winds and in an abundance of caution, we had all of the outdoor furniture moved inside to all of the units that we manage. The unit you rented has large wooden Adirondack chairs with leg extensions on them - and they take up a lot of room. When you entered that condo, what you saw were not belongings of others, but items that belonged on the balcony of that unit. The unit was not occupied during your stay. Had I know how displeased you were with the alternate accommodations that were offered to you in the two other rooms, and the pizza that my assistant provided, I certainly would have changed things if I could - most assuredly.
My goal is always to EXCEED my guests' expectations. My daughter did get married that weekend, and while I have not taken a vacation during the summer since becoming a property manager in a resort area, I did so this time. I did have my voice mail set to notify callers to contact my assistant. For what you perceived as rudeness I can only apologize and tell you that it will be used as a re-training opportunity. We send confirmation emails to every guest 7 days prior to their scheduled arrival date and I cannot explain why you did not receive yours. I suppose it is possible that it went to a spam or trash folder, but we have specific protocol in place for all orders and there is no reason that it would not have been followed in your case. Regardless - you did not have it and that is a failure on our part and for that I will apologize. I wish that there was something I could do to make you happier with the services that you received from us, but from the sounds of the review you wrote, that is simply not possible.
I will not ask that you change your review of our property, but I did want you to know that I take every review very seriously and am sorry that you had anything less than a stellar vacation.

In 2004 I purchased this, my first Galveston condo. Living in Houston it was my plan to spend every weekend in Galveston. Well, having 2 teenagers at the time - they had different plans, and theirs trumped mine, so I started renting this condo and caught the 'bug' of rental property ownership. I have since purchased 2 other rental properties, obtained my real estate license, started a property management business, and moved to the island full-time. Those 2 teenagers are now close to finished with their college years, and finally like to visit Galveston. Hope you will enjoy Beach Paradise or one of the other condos I have the privilege of managing!
