Double Queen Room - Twin Sisters View

Stay in the heart of nature in one of our 36 rooms located in our 37,000 sq. ft. lodge. We are nestled between Twin Sisters Peak and Longs Peak located on the Peak to Peak Highway less than a mile from the Lily Lake Trail head. We are just a short 15 minute drive to Estes Park and 15 minute drive to the entrance gate of the Rocky Mountain National Park. Due to the immersion in nature on property, we have consciously removed the televisions from our rooms to eliminate the distraction and enable you to reconnect with nature.

Other amenities on-site include horseshoes, tai chi, qi gong, meditation, tennis, hiking, oxygen lounge therapy and nature watching! Unfortunately, due to the abundance of natural wildlife that roam our property we do not allow pets or animals of any kind.

Our guests can enjoy a ride into nature on horseback with our resident Elkhorn Stables. Call them directly to schedule your ride!

Our staff is always happy to recommend local restaurants for your dining pleasure. Event/Retreat and Wedding inquiries are welcome!

Dao house was perfect for our visit to RMNP. We loved being out of town, up the mountain vs in town of Estes Park. Was close enough to get to park entrance, under 10 min., especially after finding Mary's Lake Rd. which avoids going thru town.

Puke green carpet had stains in it. No mini fridge in rooms. Bed sheets were like a grandmas house. It was alot of money for everything but the location. The location was great for getting up early to go hike lilly lake or estes park. It was ok to sleep at. Just really wish it had a mini fridge in the room.

Neat area to stay

We thought we were staying in a cabin, but had a small room. We arrived late in the evening, so it’s on me that I didn’t ask about a potential change, but we were disappointed. Just be aware there’s no cell service. The staff was kind, helpful and we appreciated spring water! The room was clean, comfortable and easy to access.

UPTravelers

The lodge is everything they have described in the listing. Beds were comfy, clean and nice views, you are up at 9000 feet so how could the views be bad. There is no tv or a/c but a tv wasn't needed after our long day of exploring. There is a ceiling fan and with the windows open a crack with the cool mountain air it was perfect. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

We were told the lodge was built in the 1980’s. Everything about the place confirmed what we were told. Nothing appears to be updated. The rooms lack air conditioners, microwaves, refrigerators and small coffee makers, which are virtually standard in any place nowadays. They offered a communal microwave and mini refrigerator down the hall to share with other visitors (strangers) staying at the lodge. Additionally, the lodge restaurant/lounge recently closed; hence, requiring a 20/25 min. drive into Estes Park anytime you wanted food. Lastly, there were small miscellaneous things broken in our room, along with the only bathroom electrical outlet not working. Staff offered an extension cord to remedy the problem as they were not going to fix it until we left. Lastly, A sign posted in our room stated not to go over the deck railing; however, all the lower level rooms deck railings were removed. Removing the railings actually made sense to easily access the parking lot, except there were no stairs with the two foot deck to ground distance. By day 3 of our 4 day reservation, we decided to go stay in Estes Park, When I was checking out, an older, somewhat rude front desk attendant saw I was checking out early and blurted out, you can’t get a refund for the remaining day. I never asked for one. Having many years experience in the hospitality business, these are all clear signs of a financially struggling business.

Perfect Location

Beautiful and perfect location. I enjoyed not having much wifi (had enough to book timed entry, look at weather, plan a few hikes and meals and check in with family) and my son loved the horses. We saw elk and mule deer right by the cabins and we were only like 4 minutes from Lily lake and Twin Sisters trailhead.
