Great location and very clean

Very clean and organized home. Good location to downtown and other neighborhoods we enjoy. Kitchen was equipped to support a dinner in. Slept well and while the bed was softer than I like, no issues sleeping. Good communication with owner

Weekend Tourney Trip

Son and I came to Des Moines for a weekend tourney. Logan made the stay easy with great instructions, details, etc. Really liked the house; looked just like the vrbo photos. 2 comfortable beds, no noise issues, nice neighborhood. Had everything we needed for a great weekend. Hope to stay again next year!

Friends of mine and I enjoyed a long girl's weekend at Hazel's Haven. This little house is super charming with so much potential. Logan mentioned this is a new property and over time will be doing some updating. The place is very comfortable and we had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, the a/c worked great, the record player was fun to use and the location was perfect!Logan was quick to respond and even picked up a few kitchen items we needed. If you're cooking just beware of the very sensitive smoke detector above the door in the kitchen. We also appreciated not having to do a ton of extra requirements for check out. We had a very enjoyed stay!

It's not ready to rent yet

The leading exterior picture is not what you get. The patio-like area is dirty and tired. You're looking at the rear of the home, and on a cloudy, humid day is very unpleasant. You must enter from the rear because it is the most accessible after you climb the steep, craggy driveway that is unadvisably drivable. The front stairs and walkway are old, overgrown, and treacherous. The first impression is unkempt, which is why Hazel's Haven doesn't present the front view. On the lovely neighborhood street, it is the only property that looks overgrown and uncared for. To make matters worse, it is how you enter the property. The keypad doesn't light up. You are greeted by a view of an unpleasant stairway to a damp basement. From there, you walk into a worn kitchen that is not bright and charming. First impressions are very important. The extra linens, towels, and cupboards are haphazardly arranged. The overall cleanliness is concerning. The refrigerator, oven, patio, furniture, porches, etc., do not meet the requirements of anyone looking for charm.
