Lawrenceville is Pittsburgh's vibrant, artsy heart—an eclectic blend of historic charm and modern creativity. Just three miles from downtown, it's a walkable neighborhood brimming with character.

Butler Street pulses with unique boutiques, art galleries, and a dynamic food scene, while the 16:62 Design Zone showcases over 60 design studios and shops. The annual Art All Night festival transforms the community into a 24-hour art gallery, reflecting its deep-rooted creative spirit. With a rich history, including being the birthplace of composer Stephen Foster and home to the iconic Allegheny Cemetery, Lawrenceville offers a mix of old-world charm and modern-day edge.

Whether you're exploring its murals, enjoying a local brew, or attending a community event, Lawrenceville is a neighborhood that celebrates individuality and connection.

While this home is close to all the action of Lawrenceville's bustling Butler Street, it is situated on a hill in the more residential upper Lawrenceville.

If you don't mind a steady hill climb on the way home, most of Lawrenceville is walkable from this home. Of course, you can always Uber back too.

Once you arrive on Butler Street, however you get there, every bar, restaurant, and attraction in the neighborhood is an easy walk.

If you don't have a vehicle, the PRT 64 bus will take you to desirable areas like Shadyside, Squirrel Hill, and the shopping areas in the Homestead Waterfront.

We're available to help make your stay the best it can be, but the level of communication is entirely up to you. It is always our pleasure to make suggestions on where to go and what to do - from museums to my favorite walkable streets.

You will also receive a guidebook three days before check-in with recommendations and instructions for the appliances in the home.

About the host

Host profile image
I'm Andrew, and I cannot express to you enough how happy I am to be back in my hometown of Pittsburgh. After growing up in the area's declining steel industry, and moving to New England for about 9 years, I'm finally back to the only city that ever felt like home.

I started Steel River Ventures as a way to embrace the city I love when I moved back home to Pittsburgh in 2017. Now I want to share my homes and my city with our guests! I've been fortunate enough to grow over the years along with Pittsburgh and watch it transform. With every day that passes, I discover something else about this city that I love and would be happy to share that with you.

I am more than happy to be as active a host as you'd like. By default, you as a guest will have your privacy, but I'm always available to meet and share my thoughts on the area with you. Be warned though, I love Pittsburgh and that will come through in our conversations!

My primary income is working in vocational learning technology, but I am a car guy at heart. Whenever my schedule allows, I try to get to local track events at roadcourses, auto-cross or hillclimb venues. I enjoy teaching performance driving, car control and driver safety as well. I also try to read a little (usually non-fiction), visit the gym as often as possible, and spend time with family and friends.

Why they chose this property

Lawrenceville has become one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Pittsburgh. Ambitious new construction and renovations continue on both sides of the main thoroughfare, Butler Street.

While I have always wanted to have a home there, I was worried able all of the activity and the noise it generates. But I have been able to find a solution! Please read on...

What makes this property unique

This home is close to all of the things people love about Lawrenceville, but it's situated in a quieter residential area, up on a hill overlooking the neighborhood and the hilly Allegheny River valley.
