This was a perfect place to vacation. The beach wasn’t crowded at all because it was just small houses in the surrounding area. The pool area was also really nice and not crowded.

We are so happy you enjoyed your vacation. We are very secluded with the beachfront having houses vs high-rise condos in the area. Thank you!
We had an amazing time. The condo was perfect for me and my girlfriend. Nice location to plenty of amazing restaurants ,shops and beaches. Especially enjoyed St.Andrews State Park just three miles away. Would definitely like to return soon.
The place is right by the beach. Less than a 5min walk.Extremely well equipped with all the kitchen utensils and appliances you need. My only comment would be that the place does need a deep clean, it was very tidy and neat but needs a good thorough clean.I would not recommend for families with small children due to the stairs to the loft but other than that this place was truly a gem!!
Sand Castle was as described and exactly like the photos. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again. Owner is very responsive and check in/out was easy.
Sandcastle was great. Clean, easy to get around PCB, quick walk to the beach. Truly appreciated having some beach chairs in the condo. We would stay here again when we make it back to PCB. Thank you for sharing your place.
Water was amazing, we even found sand dollars , the weather was also beautiful. We didn't love having to carry our things up all the stairs because we are old but we did burn some extra calories doing it! The beach can't be seen from the condo but an amazing sunrise can be seen from the patio! Overall it was a good trip !
The condo was well furnished and stoked. Everything was very clean and perfect for our family of four.

Thank you, we are happy you enjoyed your stay. It's always easy to come and go quickly as you never have to wait for elevators, and the traffic on Thomas Drive is never difficult to access either. We hope you come visit again!
This property was amazing and I had a wonderful time. The condo was so cute and very clean. We had plenty of room and it was very close to attractions. We loved it!
This place was great. Loved how low key and quiet the place looked. Loved the gated community and the pool was great and refreshing after being at the beach. The condo had a loft which was perfect for our older boys. We will definitely be staying here in future when we look at booking our next vacation.

We had a good time here. It was not right on the beach, but pretty close. It was clean, which we look for because a lot of units in the area are not clean. Washer and dryer in unit was nice because beach towels get dirty fast. 3rd floor but it was nice not to have people above us. Owner responded fast when we needed to communicate. Would stay here again.
We usually stay at the other end of the beach but wanted to try something different. We were pleasantly surprised by the proximity of good food and shopping. The beach was very pretty with a great shell collecting spot just down the way. Swimming pool was clean and deck was nice to have coffee and drinks on.
My family really enjoyed this condo. Check in and out was super easy. It was our fourth stay in the same complex and this is probably the best condo we have stayed in there. My kids loved having their own separate beds in the loft space. We had plenty of room to move around in. The walk to the beach is quite short. The pool was warm and the kids had a great time using it. Given the opportunity we would likely stay here again in the future.

Thank you for your wonderful review!
We’re so glad your family enjoyed the condo and found it to be the best of your stays in the complex.
It’s great to hear the kids loved the loft space and the pool. We’d be happy to welcome you back anytime!
This property gives a laid back feel in a very busy beach town. The pool is quiet and the beach is beautiful. The property is very clean and modern. My little kids loved the upstairs loft. My teenager slept on the pull out sofa. It's really affordable and very close to St. Andrews State Park. I would stay here again!
We loved everything! All beds were comfy and the place is decorated so perfect. Very updated and relaxing after long days on the beach or walking the strip. No complaints.
House was clean and decorated nicely. Beds were comfortable and pool was right outside. The stairs to the loft are a bit scary and having a single bathroom was hard with 6 girls but worth it!
Night fishing wash fun, even though we were not able to get in the water much, due to red flags. Overall trip was good, just getting away for a bit.

About the host
Hosted by Cinde Shepherd
Our "beach story" began over 40 years ago. On one of their many journeys, our grandparents discovered the sugar white beaches of Panama City Beach in 1973. It is with this visit, that our family story unfolds across four generations. Our Grandma, immediately fell in love with the sugary white beach, crystal clear blue waters, and the many pools that would sometimes form on the beach. Living in Missouri, Panama City Beach offered a tropical getaway that they could frequent for extended weekends as well as full-week getaways. In 1977, Grandpa surprised Grandma with a very special "Sandcastle" birthday present. He purchased an adorable little beach cottage two blocks from where we are today. Our grandma appropriately named her new escape "Our Sandcastle". In those days, the little cottages, and now our new "Sunswept Sandcastle" were the only structures on the beach. Our mom's remembers spending days on the beach, seeing only 20 people pass by the whole day. Besides the beach front houses you still see today, the rest of the beach was a multitude of sand dunes. In the early days, the favorite beach front restaurant was called "The Beach Party", and it still exists, but is now called Schooners. It remains a family favorite for everyone, and one of the first places we enjoy on each visit. Grandpa had a special love of boating, and back then he would leave early in the morning and go fishing for the catch of the day. During the afternoon, our mom and aunt would seek out fresh oysters, scallops, and crabs from the bay. Grandma would create quite the feast, including our Grandpa's famous Oyster Stew. Mom (our awesome property manager) remembers walking the beach with her dad (grandpa), and how he named the beachfront building of Sunswept "The Big Gray Monster". At three stories, it was the tallest structure near their beloved Sandcastle.
Why they chose this property
Grandma had a special love of sharing her Sandcastle with everyone. We can't tell you how many honeymoons took place in her Sandcastle. Her family and friends enjoyed over 28 years vacationing here on Thomas Drive. We have a library of guestbooks, with many wonderful times shared by all. Grandma especially loved the beach. She is much remembered for the special messages and prayers she wrote in the sand for all of us that were washed away into the universe. Her most memorable message in the sand was "Thank You God for Everything". Our family continued making special beach memories into the third generation of our family. Our favorite event was a final night Luau, including grass skirts, leis, music and dancing on the beach as our farewell until the next visit. As with all things, unexpected changes occur. In 2007, we lost our treasured Sandcastle. In July 2011, grandma made her last trip to Panama City Beach with her youngest grandchild (4th Generation). In February 2012, we lost Grandma. Leaving a special gift to her three grandchildren, it was unanimously decided that the best tribute to Grandma would be to purchase a new Sandcastle. In 2018, tragedy struck us in the form of Hurricane Michael. The roof was torn off Our Sandcastle and after undergoing a 6 month renovation we're so excited to introduce Our Sandcastle 2.0! So, here we are. We begin another new chapter of "Our Sandcastle". Our greatest hope is that we can bring as much happiness to our visiting guests here as grandma did in her Sandcastle for so many years. We hope you join us!
