About this property
Villa Gazelle - a private and peaceful retreat
Villa Gazelle is a newly refurbished, stunning, tranquil villa within 10 minutes walk cafes and shops in Franklin Village and great hikes under the Hollywood Sign.
This spacious house was built in the 1940s and has been lovingly restored. Features include a baby grand piano, two open fireplaces, extensive art collection and a large library containing over 500 books
New kitchen, patio and bathrooms were completed in September 2021 and the whole house has also been painted that same time.
The space
The home is situated at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac surrounded by trees and hills.
There are 4 bedrooms with 5 bathrooms. Three bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and there is a separate guest restroom and the lower floor has the bathroom just outside the bedroom.
There is a new open plan kitchen with counter and integrated laundry and drying machines.
There is a large dining table with dining chairs and a separate dining and reception room that can be all be opened up to create one long single floor walk space from the reception through the dining room and out through the kitchen to the outside garden where separate dining tables and chairs are placed. Look out for the library full of great reading books and the breakfast nook!
The house is walking distance to Gelsons, shops, restaurants, bars and the small but lively Beachwood Canyon neighbourhood
Nearest public transit on Hollywood & Highland - approx 20 mins walk.
Parking - garage and street parking are available.
The place comes with cleaners and gardeners and is kept beautifully.
It is a very peaceful house and there are beautiful canyons and walking trails within 5 minutes from the house.
Beachwood Canyon is my favorite neighbourhood in LA. The great thing about the neighbourhood is how hip and friendly it is. This is old school Hollywood and no wonder they placed the Hollywood sign here!
Beachwood Canyon has a great range of shops at the lower end of the hill, a French brasserie (La Poubelle), coffee shop (Bourgeois Pig), gourmet market (The Oaks) and several super markets (Gelsons and Beachwood Market). There are cafes such as the 101 cafe and The Beachwood Cafe as well as local stand up theater.
The upper portion of the canyon is the Hollywoodland community that was originally advertised in the 1920s by the Hollywood Sign. The canyon features its own market, coffee shop and stables.
The local architecture is inspired by the southern regions of France, Italy and Spain.
Current famous residents include Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Jack Black, Heather Graham, Danny Huston and past stars include Charlie Chaplin & Aldous Huxley among many others.
Other things to note
The house has a baby grand piano and this is available to play at your leisure
Please note the house is located at the end of a cul de sac and surrounded by trees and its own private garden. There are no curtains or blinds in the house except on the lower floor as the surroundings are private and the bedrooms are raised and surrounded by foliage.
