Downtown Corner Cottage is a dog-friendly home in the vibrant historic district of So Pines! Minutes from world-class golf in Pinehurst and surrounded by local courses that draw golfers throughout the year. Walk to all the local restaurants, coffee shops, breweries, boutiques, Downtown Park, Farmer's market, festivals and concert venues.

This recently renovated 1950s home may look tiny on the outside but is surprisingly open and spacious the moment you step inside! You'll experience the perfect mix of old cottage charm blended with bright, modern, industrial features and touches of relaxation and comfort. With 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths, you'll have ample space to settle in and unwind. Kick back in front of the 70inch smart TV or cook to your heart's desire in the fully equipped kitchen. Need to do laundry? No worries! There is a full-size washer and dryer! Enjoy meals for parties up to 6 at the dining table or picnic table.

You'll experience small town charm as you sip your favorite beverage in rocking chairs on the new front porch while listening to the breeze blow through the pines and hearing the melodious sounds of the occasional church bells and train whistles. Step out back to enjoy the newly expanded deck with a picnic table, gas grill, and fire pit. Your dogs will enjoy their time in this pet friendly town, and while there is not a fenced in yard yet, there is a trolley to ensure their safety while outdoors. (note: there are friendly neighborhood cats that may wander into the backyard occasionally, but they will scamper when dogs are present - please do not invite the cats inside.)

Excellent communication. The cutest property that was so well supplied right down to the K cups for the Keurig. A very short walk to a great downtown area with restaurants and stores. Can highly recommend driving or walking to Reds Corner for a fun evening out, especially if you all have different food wishes.

The house was beyond our expectations. Perfect for a family with dogs. The hosts had everything for our pets: blankets, bowls, and even a leash. House had everything we needed and the location was fabulous. Walking distance to the shops and restaurants downtown. Perfect neighborhood for taking the dogs for a walk. Definitely going back when we are in the area.

Such a cozy cottage. Excellent location just footsteps away from the downtown Southern Pines area. You can literally walk everywhere! Inside the cottage is quite spacious with 3 nice bedrooms. The interior is all recently redone with all the modern conveniences. Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay!

Wonderful Stay close enough to walk to downtown

We had a wonderful stay and loved that the home was so easily set up to have our dogs. We were able to walk to the restaurant and the dive bar from the house. House was perfectly clean. We could fit three cars in the driveway without disrupting the side walk. Great communication with the owner/management as well. Thank you for letting us stay!

Perfect Location

We had a wonderful stay in Southern Pines. The house was perfect for my family and I and the location was great. The playground and tennis courts were a quick walk, Betsy’s crapes was 900ft, along with all the other fun shops the downtown area has to offer. The house had it all. The kitchen was fully stocked, plenty of blankets and towels, laundry is brand new, and so much more.

Perfect location for relaxing getaway

This property is in the perfect location. My husband and I enjoyed walking to breakfast, lunch and dinner. Our little dog enjoyed taking walks around the neighborhood. Plenty of shops in the area and of course, Golf! We enjoyed sitting out back around the fire pit in the evening. Bob and Suzanne were wonderful hosts. Great communication and quick to respond. The house was very pet friendly and you will have everything you will need. They have thought of everything. Thanks for a great getaway!

Quiet, CLEAN, perfect!

From the moment I booked, the host communicated clearly and promptly. Once we arrived and opened the door, there was a welcoming feeling about the place. The location is on a quiet street one block from Broad Street. You only have to walk 2 to 3 blocks to shopping, restaurants, and the best wine shop. It’s a very safe neighborhood and we saw multiple runners and walkers at all times of the day. The linens and beds were amazing. There were no complaints from me or my friends about our night’s sleep; we slept great. Best of all the house was extremely clean. Thank you for a great stay!

I can't say enough good things about my stay at this charming cottage. My friend and I absolutely loved every item at the cottage. Incredibly clean, fully stocked kitchen, toys and water/food bowls for dogs, big back yard, big deck in the backyard. A great walking location to all the shops and restaurants within two blocks or so. It was too soon for me to leave. I loved it all. Highly, highly recommend!!

Suzanne and I met when we were next door neighbors in Boulder, CO. We moved to NC in 2004 to be near her family and love it here! We adore Southern Pines and hope to retire here one day. We also own a weekend-getaway where we enjoy boating and relaxing lakeside. We've got two college "kids" and two dog "kids". We love to travel and have stayed in short-term-rentals all over the US, in Canada, and in Puerto Rico (including Culebra and Vieques.) At each visit, we'd think, "Hmmm....we'd love to own a place like this in a great location." And here we are!

Why they chose this property

The charm and excitement of Downtown Southern Pines is unmatched. We fell in love with it during our very first trip to Pinehurst. The neighbors are friendly dog-walkers, always willing to stop for conversation. We love the proximity (1 block away!) from the great shops, restaurants, bars, and parks in our neighborhood.

What makes this property unique

Situated on a tree-lined corner in the historic district, surrounded by beautiful, well-maintained homes, and a block away from all the downtown fun, this property is in the PERFECT location! The interior is spacious, cozy & inviting, with modern conveniences and attention to detail. The previous owner restores old homes, and she did such an incredible job bringing this 1950s cottage back to vibrancy! We have continued to do so with expansions on the new front porch, back deck, and landscaping.

As we were setting up this property, we intentionally tried to include the things we loved and appreciated about other places while traveling as well as include the amenities we found lacking in others. (For example, Suzanne is a two-towel lady, prefers flat over fluffy pillows, appreciates access to a full-length mirror, and sleeps better with a fan blowing in her face. As a result, you'll find extra towels, pillows and a fan in each bedroom closet...and there are 3 full-length mirrors!)
However, what makes our property MOST UNIQUE is our beloved
Front-Porch-Horse! It's a treasured conversation piece and perfectly at home in Southern Pines! (Please don't sit on it or move it- thank you! )
