Step back in time and experience the charm of a bygone era at our one-of-a-kind Airbnb—the historic 1910-1960s Salt Creek Orchard Schoolhouse! Nestled in the countryside, this unique accommodation boasts its very own indoor gym, school desks, chalkboard, shared swing set, and all sorts of historical items!

Fun historical features to note:

• Pump Pedal Organ you can play (circa 1880)
• Player Piano with songs to play
• Record player with authentic era historical records to play
• Original schoolbooks from when the schoolhouse was an active classroom
• Many other era books to peruse and read
• Stories and information on the refurbishment process
• Vintage /historical decorations with fun facts

The space:
• Private Indoor Sports Court: Your own sports court with volleyball net and basketball hoops perfect to let the kiddos run around in. You are welcome to bring your kid’s scooters or personal roller skates to use in the gym. (mini projector and screen available upon request for your own movie night in the gym). A six-foot table and 10 vintage fold-up chairs available upon request (no additional charge).

Unique would be an understatement so I’m gonna call it sui generis. Have you ever lost a game of h.o.r.s.e. to a 10-year-old girl in a museum you can sleep in? Yeah me neither—until yesterday.

We flew in from out of state for our daughter’s wedding. The school house was a perfect place to stay! It was beautiful and practical. I was able to host a lovely bridal shower and the kids could get their wiggles out in the gym. The hosts were so generous with stocking board games and lots of equipment in the gym, as well as having instructions for using the player piano, organ, record player, and for viewing the historic glass items. On display Pictures and history through out helped us feel connected to the property. The location gave us beautiful country atmosphere with quick access to shopping and dining in Dallas. The history and attention to details in the school house made this a unique experience that I’d do again and recommend! Beds were comfortable, functional, and pretty. The hosts were very responsive to any questions i had. I suspect this vrbo will boom in popularity as word continues to get out.
