Unfortunately there was a lot that went wrong during our trip. There was a lady who stormed into the house when we were sleeping. It was very inappropriate- I guess there was a miscommunication of how long we would be staying. She was the cleaning lady. She continued to come back to the house three more times during our stay to get things she needed from the property. Along with this there were blood stains on the bedsheets and lady bugs were literally EVERYWHERE. Like on the walls and in our beds. We were interrupted a lot during our two night stay by the lady and the neighbor who was trying to help us with the remotes. They didn’t have any batteries in them. I hate to write a bad review as it is a beautiful place but, some things that probably don’t happen often happened to us during our stay.
The Farmhouse was great! Phillip is a great host. He responded quickly to messages & was friendly and helpful. The Farmhouse is a rustic getaway. It’s stocked with everything you need for your vacation. It’s easily accessible and close to restaurants and stores. The front and back porches are wonderful & the solitude was very welcome after long days hiking the beautiful trails of the Gorge. The Whip-poor-will calling on the hillside took me back to evenings on my grandparents’ porch.
The rooms were infested with insects. My children and 72 year old mother all slept in the living room. Hot tub was barely filled. There was no hose to fill the tub. The water smelled like sewage and the host charged me for a second night when I was gone before noon after the first night. Host should be ashamed.
