Hello Travelers!

We hope you think this 130-year-old historic brewing building is as spectacular as we do. Our dad, Steve Simon, purchased it in 2000. It was his dream to restore it and breathe life back into it. We are carrying on what he started.

My family (Stephani and Charles), in conjunction with my brother's family (Scott and Lindsay) now own the Montgomery Brewing Building and my husband owns the Montgomery Brewing Taproom.

Owning and operating the Montgomery Brewing Building is not our full-time job, but we take great pride in what our dad has started. When we're not at the brewery building, we're spending time with our kids and fur babies and working at our full-time jobs in public relations, landscaping and hospitality.

It's our goal to extend our dad's love for this historic building to you. We aim to make your stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible so you can enjoy time with your family and friends creating memories.

While you are here, we hope you'll have a chance to check out the brewery and sip on one of the award-winning craft beers. The taproom is recognized as one of the top 22 breweries in Minnesota and it offers a diverse selection of expertly crafted beverages.

Please be sure to let us know if there's anything we can do to make your visit even more enjoyable!

Cheers,

Stephani & Charles, Scott & Lindsay

What makes this property unique

The Bottling Department has a storied past and many quirky features.

The building's origins date back to 1893. The Montgomery Brewing Company became a cornerstone of the community, producing a variety of beers.

During its early operation, the Bottling Department was essential for preserving and distributing the brewery's beverages. In an era before advanced refrigeration, bottling allowed for extended shelf life and broader distribution, ensuring the brews could reach a wider audience.

Revival in the 21st Century: After ceasing operations for several decades, the building found a new lease on life. In 2015, Montgomery Brewing reopened its doors, continuing the craft brewing tradition. The revival preserved the building's historical essence and reestablished it as a community gathering spot.

- Plans are in place to restore the original Bottling Department sign on the exterior of the building by the summer of 2025.

- The original brick walls inside the space can be seen through the peek-a-boo windows in the kitchen and above the stairway. The brick walls contain sharp metal and jagged edges, making them unsuitable for exposing the full wall.

- The basement bathroom is original to the bottling department.

- The sloped floor in the basement bedroom helped brewers manage beer spillage and the clean-up during the bottling process.

Devoted community members have significantly influenced the restoration of the Brewing Building. Individuals like Steve Simon, who restored the building, played a crucial role in preserving this historic landmark, ensuring that its legacy endures for future generations.

Today, the Bottling Department symbolizes the town's enduring commitment to quality brewing and community spirit.
