There is also an outer staircase on the back of the hayloft, that connects upper and lower levels. Both bedrooms are airconditioned. The large shared pool (meters 15.50 X 7.00 X 1.25 ), treated with natural salt, not visible from the house and surrounded by vegetation, is open from May 15th to September 15th. This beautiful ancient Hayloft ,recently restored, is part of the “ Fattoria Il Leccio” lived and owned by the Passigli family for four generations. It sits on top of a hill overlooking the Valle del Mugnone,a gorgeous valley that offers panoramic views of gently slopping hills cultivated with well-tended olive groves as well as views of the town of Fiesole and the city of Florence. Giovanni Boccaccio in his 13th Century Decameron, locates some of his stories in this valley. Public transportation, (bus and train) are available at the bottom of the hill in the village of Caldine. It is a 10/15 minute walk through the hilly bucolic countryside. The train, a 12 minute ride from the Fiesole /Caldine station to Santa Maria Novella station in the center of Florence, runs approximately every hour. The buses, a 30 minute ride, also take you into Florence. There is little public transportation after 8pm. Caldine has a supermarket as well as post office and bank. It also has doctor and ambulance service. Please contact us for further details.

The hayloft was so delightful - from the comfortable bedrooms with bathrooms, the quaint kitchen, living area, the outdoor courtyard for viewing the hillsides, and the whole setting. Andrea and Lorenzo were the nicest, very helpful. Andrea knows the area so well, he is a wealth of information for your visit. We were able to buy some of the olive oil they make right on the farm, and have it shipped home. We felt like family and had everything we needed. Florence is a short train ride from the village down the hill. Lots to do, it was a hilight of our trip!
Stunning Hayloft conversion, Andrea was the perfect host, always available if needed, with help explaining the best ways into Florence via bus or train. He also arranged a marvellous evening meal at Terrazza45 with the best table in the house with views over Florence. The Pool area is very secluded with salt water. As always when holidaying in Tuscany ensure you have plenty of Mosquito repellent as they do like to feed on you especially as the sun drops slightly. Although the Hayloft was mosquito free due to the mosquito nets on windows. I would highly recommend this property for rental

Enjoyed our brief stay in the hayloft
Very comfortable and practical with lovely views and comfortable beds
Andrea was always available to sort out any issues and give advice
The location is great , just 5 minutes drive to an excellent coop and 10 mins from Fiesole and 20 mins to Florence
The haloft wousk easily accomodate 4 although the living space is a little small
But overall a happy stay
My family and I had a great time in the countryside at this beautiful villa. The advertisement is accurate. I would stay here again.

Fabulous holiday
Just spent a week at Andrea`s super hayloft with my partner and our two children.
The location was the perfect mix of Tuscan countryside hideaway, but close enough to be 20 minutes from Florence and 10 mins from Fiesole. Andrea was super helpful and the perfect host with lots of good advice, like driving to San Domenico to catch the No 7 bus into Florence (free parking in San Domenico !). We did drive into the main train station in Florence on one day but otherwise I would avoid town as its a bit manic and the bus runs every 20 mins and is super cheap.
The pool is a little way from the accommodation, but a pleasant little walk through olive groves and you can pick and eat your own figs en route. The pool was always nice and clean. The haybarn was simple but clean and tidy and aircon very effective in the heat.
Overall I would rate our stay as 10 / 10

Fantastic retreat
Fabulous stay at this countryside property, just a short drive from Florence. Quiet, very comfortable accommodation in the restored hayloft with a most obliging & friendly host. Attention to detail, regarding the property, was of a very high standard and we felt very much at home during our stay. A car is a must when staying here.

A gem in the hills outside Florenze
We stayed at the Little farm-house (Family of 4) and it was simply perfect. A veiw over the Towns of Florence and Fiesole and everything you need, with an amazing pool and a lovingly restored old house (with air-con).
The owner (Andrea) and his Family went above and beyond every day to ensure that we had all that we needed. The nicest people you are going to meet.
All in all a fantstic location for our Holiday for 2 weeks. Would not change a thing - except perhaps to stay another 2 weeks perhaps.
Thank you to Andrea and Family for making our vacation Unique.

Lovely converted hayloft in beautiful setting close to Florence
We had a fantastic stay in this lovely accomodation close to Florence. Andrea and Lorenzo were both very helpful and welcoming, making our stay very enjoyable. Our children (13 and 11 years old) loved the short walk through the olive groves to get to the swimming pool and we found the whole atmosphere of the agriturismo very tranquil and relaxing. The train station at the bottom of the road made travelling into the centre of Florence very accessible and quick and the centre of Caldine, only a few minutes drive away has a great supermarket selling lots of local produce. We enjoyed going to a cafe recommended by Andrea in Fiesole that had amazing pastries and coffee for breakfast and other recommendations given by the family. The accommodation had everything we needed and was well looked after, we were sad to leave the wonderful Tuscan hills and would love to return.

Wonderful converted hayloft in hills above Florence (Fiesole)
We could not have been happier with our choice of accommodation in the more peaceful countryside setting of Caldine a mere 15 mins( by bus) away from Florence but close enough to make going back and forth an easy undertaking. We loved driving to San Domenico each day having a coffee while we waited for the bus and on our return often ate there before the short drive back to the property. To return each day to this enchanting accommodation was really a joy. Every care has been taken with the stylish decor, cleverly designed space and beautiful homely touches. The property and pool are peaceful, secluded yet totally accessible by car to and from neighboring Fiesole or Florence and further afield. We stayed with our 22 year old daughter and would highly recommend it as a holiday rental. We loved chatting with Andrea and were reluctant to head off after a week of sun, sightseeing, eating and relaxing!

Perfect accommodation for this family of four
This wonderfully apportioned "hay barn" was perfect for our family. The unit was recently restored and is very nicely furnished. It sits about 20 meters from the main house and has its own terrace with a wonderful view of Fiesole and Firenze. The two bedrooms were very comfortable with the best beds we've ever encountered in Europe. Andrea and his family were wonderful hosts who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. An added bonus was the delightful piano music that frequently drifted across the garden from his studio.
We found this the perfect way to see Florence and experience the Chianti region. The city is easily accessible by bus or train (although you will need a car to get to the bus or train) and easy to escape when the heat and the crowds get tiresome. We enjoyed many quiet, cool evenings on our terrace watching the sun fade on Florence, glad to relax in the quiet of the olive groves, away from the bustle of the city.
We enjoyed walking through the olive groves and made full use of the the pool. The Coop in Caldine met all of our grocery needs. All of Chianti is in easy reach by car from the farm. We made a number of day trips during our stay and were always glad to return to our quiet little spot at the end of a day's adventures.
Our children (10 and 12) loved it. The space was comfortable, the pool was delightful, and the farm was fun to explore. They would cite the added bonuses of cats to play with, the family of cinghiale (wild boar) that we encountered a few times, and the neighbor's black and white bunnies that wandered freely.
We would love to come back.
