Much time and care has gone into this charming, lovingly-restored 1870s home. Equipped with central heat and air conditioning, the house is populated with a collection of distinctive antiques. The spacious living and dining rooms are perfect for entertaining; the smart black and white kitchen is fully appointed; and a private deck overlooks the meandering creek. Additional amenities include a laundry room, two full baths and three stylish bedrooms, which comfortably accommodate six guests.

The house is fully-equipped with fine linens and towels. Utensils, pots and pans, and dishes available in kitchen. Complimentary local wine provided for guests upon arrival.

The house was very clean and looks just like the photos. The host lives next door and was friendly and flexible with check-in and checkout times. There was coffee and sugar for guests and a bottle of wine in the fridge! One of the beds upstairs is a full, the other is a queen. Plenty of seating for a group of 6 to sit and chat or eat some snacks together and super easy to walk to main street. The backyard was beautiful!

I’ve lived in Sutter Creek since 1958. I first purchased the house next door 50 years ago and restored it with my husband. We purchased the rental property shortly thereafter and it became the first vacation rental property in Sutter Creek.

Why they chose this property

This is where these two special houses were located, one block off Hwy 49, which is the Main Street for Sutter Creek and features wine tasting, restaurants, and antiques shops galore.

What makes this property unique

My house and the Fournier House were both built by Charles Fournier in 1878. He owned a sawmill on the creek and milled all the wood for the structures himself. The houses are excellent examples of Victorian architecture. The Fournier House has been decorated with antiques and artwork.
