Room was private, quiet, and super clean. Perfect directions and great communication. Was so nice to meet Aunty Janice. The leis and treats were a great touch!
We enjoyed our stay at the Bamboo House very much.. the room was clean, comfortable, quiet and peaceful.. the delightful owner is there on the premises and so helpful for anything you might need.We would definitely stay there again...
This Bamboo paradise was everthing we hoped for, peaceful, relaxing, and cozy. And Janice was so warm and friendly and went above and beyond in providing several extra amenties, such as coffee/tea breakfast foods and drinks in the fridge to cook and delcious homemade bannana bread.
The room is pleasantly furnished and very clean. My host is a lovely lady who shared very openly about her life in Hawaii and her love of the island. I did not have a car and the location of this home was perfection. I easily walked into town, found excellent restaurants and even a beautiful and welcoming wellness center
Janice was so sweet and her place was beautiful! The pineapple and banana bread were both delicious, and she even made me the most gorgeous lai as a welcome gift! Her place was also ideally located, close to both Paia and the road to Hana if you’re planning to visit either of those. I was able to hop right onto the road to Hana and do a quick hike over at the Twin Falls trail and see some rainbow eucalyptus trees as well as some sea turtles on a nearby beach thanks to Janice’s tips. All in all quite lovely!
Janice is an exceptional host. Her warmth & kindness just resonates here, which is her family home. Our accommodations were excellent, with a "Hawaiian" structure of bamboo and extremely cozy. The queen bed was very comfortable & even though there is no air conditioning, with the ceiling fan & open windows, the temperature was very pleasant both day & night. Janice's place is at the end of a long road & very quiet with a view of the ocean in the distance. Sitting on the lanai was delightful, looking at the tropical landscape & hearing all the birds & chickens. She welcomes guests with delicious home made banana bread, home grown huge avocados & nectarines, as well as providing all the necessities needed, including coffee, condiments, even some pancakes & sausage in the freezer to microwave. She gave us beautiful hand made leis as a parting gift when we left. Definitely hard to leave here, but hopefully will return someday. The small town of Haiku is right up the road & has a great restaurant called Colleen's as well as a full grocery store. Has lots of friendly people & not touristy.
This was a perfect location for a peaceful, more remote feeling getaway. The bamboo house was clean and comfortable. Aunty Janice even provided some cold weather gear for our late evening trek up Haleakala. Sitting on the lanai looking over the yard with pretty flowers and out towards the ocean was so relaxing. We greatly appreciated the thoughtfulness Aunty Janice made for our stay and her excellent communication. We would love to come back here! Mahalo!
Janice was so sweet and such a pleasure to meet. I honestly didn't want to leave! She made us feel right at home and had everything we needed for our stay. We loved the homemade banana bread and fresh pineapple for breakfast, and I was so thankful for the coffee in the morning, especially since we arrive so late! We truly felt so welcome and comfortable and hope we can return again soon. Mahalo!
This was a wonderful place to stay and Janice was an amazing host. The studio was great and had everything one could need. I would love to return at stay at Janice’s again. I cannot imagine a more welcoming and lovely host!
