About the host
Hosted by Andrew Hind
I am from Glasgow originally and now live in Surrey with my wife Annie and cat Mr Fids.
Both Annie and I love Scotland (Annie's Mum was Scottish) and adore the West Coast of Scotland and feel so privilege to own (Or be the current keepers) of Tigh Na Breac.

Why they chose this property
It is a stunning location; the views are just amazing, and it is so quiet and peaceful.
Loch Etive is a special place. The silence is deafening!
The house sits prefect south, so the morning light and evening sunsets are astonishing. You will find yourself drawn to the windows just staring out at the vistas.
Where the house is situated is at the ‘elbow’ of Loch Etive. (Loch Etive is a boomerang shape) The house is approximately 10-mile up Loch Etive on the northside, Loch Etive is 20 mile long and extends to the foot of Glen Coe. It’s classed as a ‘Fiord’ due to the shape and depth of the Loch and this is a rare thing in Scotland.
A trip up Loch Etive, either by foot or by arranging a boat trip, (I will supply details how this can be arranged) is highly recommended… Such an amazing trip and the most dramatic scenery.
The local history, of Tigh an Breac as a house, stem from the local Bonawe Quarry, the house was originally built in 1907 as the ‘Mangers’ house for the Quarry, the history of the Quarry is fascinating, and there are a few books in the house that show and explain its history and the extensive use of Bonawe Stone (Granite) throughout the UK and beyond.
We started the rebuilt of the house in 2006 and it took 4 years. It was a great experience that contrary to common responses, both Annie and I really enjoyed. We would do it again 😊

What makes this property unique
The space within the house and location makes the house unique; it covers over 400 SqM, and it spans over three floors. It is large but has a lovely homey feeling and is a joy to be in.
Tigh Na Breac sits overlooking Loch Etive and has stunning views to the west over the Island and mountains, with wonderful sunset that are hard to beat.
We built Tigh Na Breac as our holiday home rather than a rental house; therefore, the quality of the interior and fittings is a very high quality.
There is nothing like Tigh Na Breac in the area. 😊
