About this property
1882 Cottage-charming! LOCATION! Pets w/fee. Long term rates,re Springwood Inn.
Lovely 1882 historic Cottage located on the beautiful 20 acre property of Anniston Founder’s home, currently a bed & breakfast named Springwood Inn. This 1882 Cottage has its own driveway for parking and is separated from the inn, each having their own privacy. Terrific amenities include a lovely Pond surrounded by trees for Fishing or Exploring! A 9 hole Disc Golf Course! An older, yet playable Tennis court! Privacy! No crowds! Away, but close to everything! The cottage has two bedrooms, each with an antique double bed and one bedroom also has a single daybed. The cottage also has one bath, laundry room, living room with decorative fireplace, WIFI, and television, and an updated and spacious kitchen fully supplied for guest’s cooking. Beautiful furnishings, some antiques, art throughout the cottage, and all tastefully decorated, this historic cottage has great charm and much comfort. Although a cottage, the ceilings are 12 foot and except for the kitchen and laundry /bath, the floors have original heart of pine wood floors. Built by the town’s founder, Samuel Noble, for a nationally well-known landscape painter, Christopher Shearer, to live in while visiting Anniston to sketch a picture of Anniston, the cottage, has its artistic history so we consequently call this the Artist Cottage. That beautiful painting that was sketched in our Artist Cottage, can be viewed in the Calhoun County’s Alabama Room in the Library located in downtown Anniston. What a large painting this is at the size of 9’x4’. It’s beautiful! As for outside, the cottage has two porches, both front and back, there are lovely views along with lots of woods. Drive back the long, private driveway to this cottage and you can't help but feel that you have made the right choice! Such wonderful tranquility! Doggie friendly as well! $50 non-refundable pet fee per pet due upon arrival. Contact Springwood Inn in Anniston for special long term pricing. as well as government rates for long term stays. Talladega nights are priced at $425 per night with a 2 night minimum stay.

About the host
Hosted by Carolyn Orchid
We located from the Hilton Head area of South Carolina to be between our two grown children. We found this very unique, historic, elegant, and very beautiful property on the internet, went to see it, fell in love, and purchased it. After three years of renovations and care we decided to open the home and cottage to others to come stay as well. It's a treat!
Why they chose this property
It's privacy and beauty are hard to find elsewhere.
What makes this property unique
Privacy supreme! Beautiful surroundings of gardens, woods, and a lovely pond. Lovely interior!
