The elegant Grand Manor, built in 1905, a true southern tropical mansion. Luxurious amenities seamlessly blended with Victorian grace. Located in Galveston's East End Historic District & is considered one of the top architectural structures on the Island .Guest rooms are richly appointed, with king size beds. Private baths are Jacuzzi or claw-footed tubs. This suite is one of the largest suites you can book on the historical district and is well appointed . It is located up 2 Grand stairs cases on 3 rd floor so if mobility concerns please ask us for a different suite
Best walking location vacation rental on Island . The beach, Funky bars & rooftop patios minutes away at WORLD FAMOUS STRAND .


This space is one of the largest private mansions offering vacation rental on the island and the lobby and first floor angel room will delight and amaze those with a love of architecture and design.
Guest access is through front lobby. The suite is located on the 3 rd floor so due to our grand stair cases this suite may not be suitable for those with mobility issues . We do have alternative suite .
Guests have access to libraries, living rooms and sitting rooms, dining in the huge dining room , outdoor kitchen(feature bbq), wrap around verandas with outdoor seating and dining to enjoy cool evening breezes

Room features tropical colonial design with luxury well appointed amenities with large walk in closets, luxury ensuite bath featured in many magazines .
dining area, fridge, microwave.There is a king bed and antique queen bed with 14 inch mattress .

This is the arts and entertainment district, so booking during events such as Art walk, Marti Gras or Dickens on the Strand puts you within 2 blocks walk to every thing including harbour side restaurants

transportation is rarely needed in this close to downtown and beach spot, but for longer adventures the new Galveston (summer 2021) trolley shuttle service is just at the end of your street and gives you free access all over the island to major attractions

The mansion was clean, well preserved, and inviting. The decor was charming, like a step back in time. The neighborhood was very walkable and pretty neat, full of other historic mansions. The original Mexican restaurant in Galveston is a short five minute walk. Definitely would return!* note to just be advised, the room we were given, was on the third floor, and the stairs are very steep, so when booking if mobility is a problem convey that to the host

Ask for availability of one of the top floor suites. They are amazing. Huge! Claw bath with brass shower over looking the skyline can't be beat. We will be back for the holidays!

While I love the house and it is beautiful, the Tropicana room, where I stayed for the weekend, was more like an attic than a vacation spot. It was a very hot weekend and there is only one window AC unit for the room and around 5 fans in the rest of the room. Windows were covered to keep the heat/sunlight out. Stairs were steep and more of a challenge to me personally than I had thought. The owners are nice ppl and the price is ok for the area, if I had more to do in town and just used the room to sleep in.

The worst experience I’ve ever had. There were window air conditioners! The bathroom was a sauna. I could tell they did work to restore the place but it was giving a very haunted house vibe. Creepy screeching noises in the walls too! The listing never said we’d have to haul luggage up 3 flights of stairs! I booked it because it was close to the beach but our room (Tropicana) was probably used for slave fighting matches back in the 1900s. We’d planned for 3 nights but I told the host (Brian) that I’d rather go home and sleep in peace than to spend one more night in misery. It reeked of an old musty home. There were several fans blowing throughout the property, at least 3 inside the room and one big one outside the door. I didn’t ask for a refund or anything and I explained my concerns to Brian and he told me I was “just rude”. Worst experience I’ve ever had!! Do Not book the Grand Manor because there is nothing grand or luxurious about it!
