About this property
Unique Rocky Mountain adventure "base camp" for 12
“Mountain View” is a rustic home turned into a fantasy of color, by its artist owner, for her large family’s rocky mountain escape.
With 6 bedrooms, 3 full baths, game room, hot tub room, BBQ deck and parking for multiple vehicles and ATVs it is well suited for large adventurous families, family groups, and friends looking for a unique mountain adventure.
Mountain View is ideally located between Pikes Peak and National forests with access to ATV trails, hiking, historic Cripple Creek gold mining town and casinos, Florissant fossil beds, trout fishing, 100 picturesque picnic spots and deer grazing in your back yard.
You will be a convenient two minutes from a grocery store and two great restaurants. The Pikes Peak Toll Road is a 25 minute drive, Garden of the Gods, Manitou and Olympic training center 10 minutes further. For day trips we highly recommend river rafting, hot springs pools, guided fly fishing trips, off road adventures, and in the winter snow skiing and snowmobiling.
We encourage you to consider "Mountain View" as your vacation base camp for making Rocky Mountain memories.

Very good

While this property doesn't have great drive up appeal, it has a pretty view of Pikes Peak and on the inside is decorated in a very fun style with each room having it's own personality. It was well stocked with everything we need (although you need to be careful opening drawers). The welcome gift of taffy and caramel corn was a nice treat. Our main complaint, is the listing is supposed to accomodate 12. We had 10, and there was no way to play games at the table in the kitchen area as it was very cramped. The living area is so large, that we would reccomend the owner reconfiguring it and putting the dining table out in that area where everyone isn't so cramped. A couple of the women complained of being cold as their bed coverings were too light and we did not find extra blankets in the closet. David, the owner was a delight to converse with before our visit and was very helpful. Our ladies especially enjoyed the jungle room with the wonderful jacuzzi.

While I have owned two vacation rentals for over 10 years “Mountain View” is a new vacation rental that the owner, a good friend, has asked me to manage for the first year. I found Lynns review fair and particularly helpful. Her description represents the property accurately and her suggestions are being addressed. I anticipated that the house would be used primarily by family groups and tailored the experience for a mix of ages from infants to grandparents. As Lynn discovered it did not suit 10 adult women when it came to a gaming table. She is correct that there is space in the great room for the dining/gaming table with room for 10 adults to game, puzzle, or my preference, drink margaritas and swap stories. Moving the table will be made an option in the future when we get a large “all adult” group.
