The perfect place to stay! It was so comfortable and accommodating to our trip and had a great location. Perfect if you’re traveling with your dog as well!
Really nice home with extra large master suite. Very clean and well cared for by host. Location is very walkable with beautiful park at the end of the street. Enjoyed our stay and would recommend this home for your next visit to the Detroit area.
The location was great being close to downtown Royal Oak. The house was well equipped and clean. Jenn was super helpful and responsive. We would stay here again if our travels bring us back to Detroit.

Thank you! I am so lucky to host such lovely families!
A great way to spend time in the Detroit area.
Royal Oak is a great location with a great downtown area. Our host was helpful, knowledgeable and kind. I would recommend this home especially if you have pets the fenced yard is great.
The house is so cute and cozy with an awesome fenced yard that made the stay for us and our senior dogs very comfortable.
Jennifer was super thoughtful and communicative. She was the best hostess and I would 100% book with her again!
So sweet! As soon as we walked in the door, we immediately felt at home. So clean and warm and welcoming, with several “small touches” that helped us settle right in (like coffee, tea, kitchen spices, water bottles, well stocked bathroom, etc.). My only suggestion would be to add room darkening blinds or curtains to the bedrooms. The outdoor street lamps (great for safety) tend to keep the bedrooms brighter than desired.
Excellent home away from for home for an extended work trip that allowed my husband and dog to travel with me. The house is adorable and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Large fenced yard for the dog and plenty of places to walk. Jennifer gets 10 stars for NOT having a huge check out list for us to complete! She told me she doesn’t want to add stress for her guests on departure day. Her listing is exactly as it says and we would definitely stay here again. Thank you Jennifer ❤️
We had a wonderful stay in this adorable home and would definitely book again! While visiting family and friends in and around Detroit, this was the perfect place to relax, regroup, and even do a little work in between seeing people. Everything was clean and well-decorated with thoughtful touches throughout.
We loved the home’s character and the fenced-in backyard was awesome for our dog, who had enough room to play fetch. We appreciated the cozy bistro set on the covered patio where we could have morning coffee or a drink in the evening. The steps down to the backyard/basement angled at the tight corner turn, which might be difficult for someone with mobility issues, but it was fine for us.
The host, Jennifer, was responsive to any questions and created a welcoming ambiance with music playing on the Google unit and a lovely scent diffuser. The house is within walking distance to Royal Oak restaurants and bars, and we enjoyed walking our dog around the neighborhood. I highly recommend this property!
That's what you'll get from Jennifer! She went above and beyond for us, accommodating our needs.
The house is well kept and has plenty of the comforts of home. The kitchen had a nice variety of snacks and everything needed to prepare a meal. There were also a nice variety of restaurants in the area, if dining out is your preference.
Jennifer went out of her way to check on us throughout our stay, brought us flowers, and even helped ship back an item we left behind.
If customer service is your thing and working with wonderful people, this house is a great value and a very comfy stay in quaint Royal Oak, Michigan.
We really enjoy staying at this Royal Oak house. This is now the second time we've stayed there - we really like the location near downtown Royal Oak and the house is a great size for me and my spouse.
The manager, Jennifer, is always very responsive to our questions.
Darling cottage that is perfectly equipped! We were very comfortable! We loved the place and would love to return. Very close to restaurants and the main strip. Great hosts!
My husband and I stayed at this cozy home while visiting family. It was perfect for the two of us as a home base while we were in Troy/Royal Oak. It was within walking distance of downtown Royal Oak, and the house itself had enough space for us to work and relax for a week. Jennifer was always very responsive to our questions. When we come back to visit, we would love to stay here again!
This adorable house is within walking distance of everything from restaurants to movie theaters to the Detroit Zoo (if you are up for a long walk) and it was nice to have a private outdoor space. My only suggestions are that there be better reading lights (I am an avid reader) and that the shades be darker as there is a lot of street light through the windows at night. But, overall, it was delightful.
Awesome spot in metro Detroit. My family lives in Troy and this was close the the east and west side of metro Detroit. In downtown royal oak it’s close to everything, safe neighborhood
My wife and three...yes, three dogs stayed in this cozy little retreat. It was perfect in every way. Nicely decorated, comfortable and clean. The backyard is fenced in and our dogs had every opportunity to enjoy fresh air and bark at squirrels. The neighborhood is peaceful, quiet, and within walking distance to main street Royal Oak and the Royal Oak music theater...were we saw a show! If I was moving to Royal Oak I would want to live in this house! Thank you Jennifer for sharing your wonderful abode.
We cannot say enough positive things about our experience with the property and its owner. Thank you Jennifer, for giving us a truly sweet weekend with our family!
We really enjoyed walking downtown Royal Oak, the Detroit Institute of Arts is just 15 minutes down Woodward, great coffee shops nearby.
You will be so glad you booked with Jennifer!

Nice cute and clean house in a great location
Added our own pieces of temporary fence to enclose the nice back fenced backyard to ensure complete closure. Our dogs loved it.

About the host
Hosted by Jennifer King
My husband and I have lived in Royal Oak for over 20 years. I was a bartender through college (so fun!) and then directed schools in Royal Oak. My husband is a builder and can fix or install anything as needed- huge Detroit sports fan and devoted golfer. Our little boys are just happy little Minecraft/Lego/soccer kids. We are happy to share this home with others- it was my husband's bachelor pad before we got married. I attended UM but had much more fun on the weekends in East Lansing at Michigan State! So we are fans of both. My husband and I both know the area so well and are happy to help you enjoy your stay!
Why they chose this property
My husband was happily single for 20 years in this home. Then I scooped him up, late in our lives, to have two little boys and move to a bigger house in north Royal Oak. So his house is full of happy memories and has the proximity to the Royal Oak scene that we both love. It's got nightlife, restaurants, art, yoga, festivals, music, movies, a great library and many parks- close to Detroit, Ann Arbor, north to outlet shopping, lakes in every direction- we are Michiganders for life!
What makes this property unique
Really, the house is immaculate and peaceful and comfortable. Full kitchen, great coffee, crisp linens, a huge sectional sofa, a DVR to record shows, a yard for your dog, room for kids, laundry if you need it, space to stretch out, listen to music, and enjoy a drink. The house is a 3 minute walk from the heart of Royal Oak. It's not a mile away, or even a half mile- a quiet, private home but fun and people and places just around the corner!
