Disappointing stay

We paid for a two-bedroom / two-bathroom unit, & this unit only had ONE bathroom! We tried to reach the property manager unsuccessfully on arrival to find out where to access the parking spot we paid for, but never got an answer. After scouring the neighborhood, we finally went into the convenience store next door, & were told that the parking was in their lot, next to the building! The neighborhood is very transitional, with a heavy presence of homeless/ impaired people on the sidewalks & in the parking lot next to the building. The area behind the building reeks of urine. The dishwasher either didn't work, or was jammed shut. We enjoyed having a washer & dryer in the unit, & made our one-night stay work, but would not stay here again.

Other than the modern look, the shower was gross with hair and mould and was cold.

Decided to try this instead of a hotel. Space was great, location was great. The owner said I could potentially get in a bit early to put my things in but never got back to me until an hour before check in which didn’t matter by that time. When I got there at the check in time, the cleaner was still there so I waited until she finished. The shower had hair in the drain and mould and discolouration in the corners. I understand it’s winter but the living space was cold despite my adjusting the thermostat to the highest setting. Had to watch TV in the bedrooms because it was so cold. Be sure to double check deposit as I was charged twice the amount requested. Bad first impression using VRBO.

Thank you for taking the time to give us a review. Reviews are really important to us as it always gives us the chance to improve our customer service and our guests experience. Check-in starts at 3pm. Please understand that the possibility of check-in can only be known on your arrival day, as unknown situations may happen. Furthermore, since your deposit and ID verification was only submitted at 2pm, you only got ahold of the codes at 2pm. this is why your early check-in could have only be done one hour before regular check-in time. We are very surprised of reading this since nothing was mentioned during your stay… We are very sorry that you’ve found yourself in such a position and we are very sorry for what it might have caused you. It is a shame that you did not mention it as we could have solved this issue right away… Sometimes, delay in the cleaning schedule may happen. We are very sorry if this situation troubled you. Concerning the heating system, we never received any complaints saying that it was too cold in the apartment. There are thermostats on the main floor and on the first floor in order to control the temperature. We would have been happy to help you with this issue if you would have mentioned it to us during your stay. Concerning the security deposit, the problem is that you probably submitted the form twice by inadvertance. On our end and it's verified, it only takes the deposit once. We would be happy to welcoming you for your next trip in Montréal!
